Old Average Brit Gaming is dedicated to the Warhammer 40,000 universe created by Games Workshop, a wargaming tabletop game using painted miniature figures to create stunning battles set in the 41st Millennium! Be it the heavily armoured infantry of the Space Marines or pure warp energy created Daemon entities, or lithe athletic, but on the verge of extinction Aeldari, this channel should have something to suit your viewing needs!
I focus on painting guides, showcases, unboxing, battle reports and anything else that comes to mind in this hugely immersive hobby.
I also have a twitter account, Instagram and registered a Twitch channel that I am potentially going to use to live stream my hobby content. Might even get some sneak peaks on there before they find their way to a video!

Just wanted to say I found this really useful and used this as inspiration for when I magnetised mine - kzread.info/dash/bejne/amx5yKyodNurpqw.htmlsi=O08SqYago9KWdT-N
Thanks very much. Glad it worked out and inspired your build. Just watched your video. Worked out just right!
This is all well and good but it requires each different variant to have its own arm pieces, the ones that connect to the "arm". I was hoping for a guide to deal with only having 2 forearms
Did this titan ever make it onto the Titan Owners Club?
I just started assembly of the torso of my warhound. Before I found your build guides, the pistons were the scariest part of this build for me. Now I'm more concerned about how I could ever possibly make the rear instrument cluster look good painted lmao. this is my first forgeworld project, and I'm already starting to enjoy the challenge of it compared to my previous modelling experiences. Thanks for the guides, Nick!
I’m glad the guide is helping out. These big kits are certainly a challenge no matter your experience. Enjoy!
@@OldAverageBritGaming So far, I am :) just a quick question though, how do you transport your titans around? I'm thinking of re-using the box my Titan came in as my transport case, but because I'm not magnetizing my weapons I'm not sure it will fit once I've got everything put together. I also haven't built transport cases for any of my models before now, so any pointers you've got would be appreciated :)
The best method I’ve seen but very expensive is the Pelican case range. But for me, it’s a sturdy plastic crate and a LOT of bubble wrap! I don’t take them out that often but one crate one Titan worked for me with zero breakage to far!
@@OldAverageBritGaming Thanks for the advice! I've got a sturdy plastic crate (It's actually a plastic tub, but it should be large enough), and I've only got one titan, so I'll definitely give that option a look XD
First the Helbrute and now the Forgefiend. Your videos have become an invaluable part of my model assembly :)
I’m glad my content still has a great audience and continues to help fellow hobbyists!
I like the use of JB-weld for the main load-bearing joints of the model. Suppose a 2-ton clear epoxy would work as well? Any word on drilling and pinning any of these joints - is it necessary or particularly useful in any areas?
Much of this model from memory didn’t really need much pining. Just as you said all the main load bearing parts. Much of it can be regularly glued or epoxied. Thanks for watching!
Can i use one with DeathGuard?
I’m not sure. I don’t have the codex for death guard!
I know this video is 4 years old now but one way for weapons storage could just be a simple plastic baggie and put that inside the hollow tank so it never leaves it side.
4 years! But still people watch which is awesome! Absolutely perfect idea of yours!
Hey Nick, hope your doing ok dude, not heard anything from you for a while, I just picked up my first Warhound Titan, just watched your build video, and realised it was 4 years ago 😳
Hey dude! Thanks for checking in :) congrats on the first warhound! Yeah all good thanks. Work and family just decimated my hobby time for the last 3 years tbh. I’m still around, but sadly not able to make videos. My wife’s home office is my hobby room and it’s next to my daughter’s bedroom so airbrushing/video content just isn’t doable when she’s asleep. By the time I’ve set up, it’s time to take down for work again. Rock and hard place for a bit longer it seems. Hope you are well!
My first kit and I don't have the plier things, I don't have no pallet or whatever ☠️ I vastly underestimated this and regret not looking this up first ☠️
It’s easy to get lost in the excitement of a finished product and not prep the journey! So much content online now though so hopefully mine and others videos will help your hobby progress
Thanks for this. I bought all the OOP Mechanicus kits and all the ones still in print. The modularity of the kits is really waht sells this for me
Absolutely. I loved these terrain sets!!
Do you know if forgeworld still do the warlord titan
I thought they did. But I am struggling to find it on the new look web store!
Great vid, thanks!
Glad it was useful for you :)
@@OldAverageBritGaming I normally hate working with FW resin kits, because of how they warp, bubble .etc- but this actually looks like a relatively nice kit. Large chunky parts don't often get super warped I find.
The chunkier the better is a good rule of thumb but not always. It does feel like the luck of the draw sometimes but the FW customer services are always excellent with bad parts.

Hi - I just want to say I've watched your video probably a thousand times and you are the sole reason I was able to fully magnetize my forgefiend/maulerfiend. I just wanted to say thank you so much for posting this!
You are very welcome!
Thanks for the video I was so worried about this part but you make it seem easy 🎉😊
Glad I was able to help!
Very good video. Very usefull. Thanks for sharing it! 🖤
You are very welcome. Glad it’s helped out 🎉
Thanks for the Tutorial it works brilliantly! I also managed to magnetize the scourge and hammer option too!
Great to hear! Well done on taking it to the top level for all options :)
Am i missing something here? You dont need to magnetize the shoulderpads right? because the smaller ones go on both shooty options and the bigger ones only on the maulerfists? correct me if im wrong please
Nice clear video, cheers mate!
Glad it was helpful 👍
👍👍👍
👍👍🫡
Is a base necessary if you are keeping the feet flat and even?
Probably not really I’d say. As long as the pose and centre of gravity remain relatively central (including the weapon weight you should factor in). It could still be easily tippable on the table top as they are top heavy. Just gotta be careful :)
@@OldAverageBritGaming thanks. I’m about to start the legs and I’m dreading it
@@hugeloads you will be fine! Have confidence 👍
@@OldAverageBritGaming thanks man! You’re vids really helped started this a year ago and life happened haha. Making good progress now. Taking him to a 40K tournament for laughs
@@hugeloads life happens for sure. Since becoming a dad my hobby has ceased for over 2 years. I’ll be back sometime I’m sure. I’m still glad my videos are helping lots of people out there with these challenging kits
Thanks Nick for an excellent series of videos. Super, super helpful for my Warhound build (first and last!)
You are very welcome. Glad it’s helped another Titan owner out :)
oh my god, someone whose magnetising tutorial isn't "hey, this is how I magnetised the model and I'll show you how it goes together" like we haven't just skipped the part of the tutorial we all came here for. thank you so much for this! I'm looking to do Knights so knowing what sizes of magnets are good for general sizes is amazing, and Fiends are on my to-buy list too (cuz they're cool). Keep up the good work!
Haha! So true on other video magnet guides so I am glad you appreciated the “straight to the point” version here. I’ve got Knight magnet guides on here somewhere too👍 Glad the video helped you out sir!
Saving all your showcase blood angel videos to my BA insperation playlist stuff like this and the HQ one make me excited to paint when im just not feeling it
5:57 this allways confused me so every chapters librains are blue and all chaplians are all black only or ia there other colors i coyld use
2:52 what mini is this hes awsome
Hey! Thanks :). He was a kit bashed model using an assault marine legs as a base, then a command model chest, a spare jump pack and winds from Sanguinary Guard and a few other odds and sods! I used him as a Captain in games
@@OldAverageBritGaming I was pretty sure it was a kit bash I love that Im working on something similar usuing some death company and tac marine bitz ATM but I'm looking for a next pic up I got two tac marine box's a death company sniper scouts and 4 PRIMARIS intercessors auto correct caps locks me lmfao
@@OldAverageBritGamingI only started in June painting my first miniture from the starter set with paint I was gonna do ultramarines till one night I win at the casino and go drunk to the game store for a death company I just painted red and didn't use the cross bits as like some blood angel special tac marines and fell in love re painted my 4 PRIMARIS and my sniper scouts and haven't looked back doing a tac marine box rn using some extra bitz and got one about to be delivered at 4 This hobby is amazing as a British person I give you my thanks a humble american such as myself could only wish to go back and stop the revolution for better prices 😂😂😂 kinda stoned my bad it's long and rant like
Trying to decide my next pick up I have death company sniper scouts a tac box built and one on the way and some PRIMARIS intercessors now should I get the furious dread knot or sangunary gaurd. Or both a caption in gravis armor and a sangunary priest
Tbh I’d get what you think you would enjoy painting. With a new edition and no new BA codex yet, it’s all a bit unknown. Rules change but cool models are always cool!
@@OldAverageBritGaming I was thinking of grabbing those hooded dark angels and Kitbashing them into some sort of elite unit I don't play tabel top just yet I'm in it for the paint but I'm just not sure if I should go dreadknot or mabye a set of terminators first
The continuous tracks were the wrong way and GW misprinted the instructions which is why so many people made this mistake.
This video has become even more helpful with all the gear being free now and really no bad choices
Nice! Yeah free weapons makes for a real reason to magnetise when you can. Glad it’s useful!
Looking forward to your 10th edition analysis
Will see what I can do. Life has changed so much for me that content is very much a low priority right now!
@@OldAverageBritGaming Hoping those changes are good ones mate. Take care.
@@primafacie5029 oh yeah! That new dad life is amazing :) But equally work has been tough for a while as well. I’m sure I’ll be back on the warhammer train at some point. 👍
Where do you get your magnets?
Either eBay or Amazon. Just compared prices and sizes and picked the best option. Usually ended up with Amazon due to impatience and wanting them next day!
How time has changed & so have GW prices 🤔 £25 is now £32.50 from GW. That's 30% increase in 5 yrs 😱 Probably get it at 20% discount from 3rd party suppliers 💡What would it cost in another 5 yrs 😱😱😱
Wow times have really changed eh? Inflation and all that malarkey and of course I’m sure a bit of GW price gauging 😂 I dread to think what another 5 years will look like 😮
Killer vid man, this is the best explainer for it I’ve seen on here
Thanks!! Given the new vehicle rules for 10th I hope it finds some extra use :)
I dont understand why all other factions chaos spawn get infernal regeneration which full heals a model but TS dont and cost exactly the same. That is a huge loss that isnt made up for with psychics or strats. For those not liking GWs prices and looks try etsy 3d printed stings, that is what i use and they look great.
Not sure why you would mention the difficulty with piece 35 on the head and proceed to totally overlook displaying the proper angle
Putting the magnet onto the flat end of a drill bit will help hold it in position on the shoulder lug while the glue dries
Rich the man is this you ?
The worst thing about thousand sons is the lack of anti vehicle units.
In general yup the standard anti tank infantry or other vehicle units is a struggle. Usually you can get by with just volume of Mortal Wounds and good use of Cabal boosts, maybe backed by a Hellbrute or 2 with Lascannon/Missile combo or melta/fist. But facing vehicle heavy Militarum or GSC or even monster Nid lists, the numbers needed to output is a challenge for sure.
Came across your video as I'm about to build this guy. Did you use any brass rods or anything for pinning? I'm just wondering if there's a lot of weight on the toes of the feet for the Porphyrion. Edit: Or do you favor the JB Weld as opposed to rods?
Hi there! I am a fan of both rods and JB for sure. Usually the hips and leg sections get the rods although if you see the Warlord build it’s a lot of rod work. I favour 3mm brass as it’s easier to cut. For JB I use a mix of both Kwik and regular depending on the part and time available. The regular stuff cures in z24 hours really so adds lots of time to a build. Kwik is just a few minutes. Test fit EVERYTHING!! Good luck building :)
You say it fast ... The magnets are 15 mm by 3 neodymium what???? And do you have a brand to refer too please and ty
Been following your guild for my display piece. Thank you very much.
Hey that’s great to hear!!!
Your terrain videos are awesome. Hope you are still putting out vids!
Thanks! Sadly hobby on pause since having a baby. I’ll be back sometime this year no doubt!
@@OldAverageBritGaming completely understandable and congratulations!
Can you temporal Surge terminators after they deep strike for a 3" charge?
I believe no additional movement is possible to reduce charges from deep strikes so Temp Surge won’t be allowed sadly.
What size magnets did you use?
Thanks for the guide. However, how do I procure the extra "forearms" ? Seems like I can only pick 2 weapons with the kit I have.
Hey hope you are well. Getting into thousand sons and love your helpful vids.
Thanks! They are a bit out of date for some of the tactics and combinations these days as I have effectively paused the hobby as I became a dad and don't have the time right now. With new content, points changes and recent leaks on org charts and so on, combinations will be very different. But the painting content will always hold up no matter the crazy rules updates :)
@@OldAverageBritGaming oh good. I wondered what happened to you with the sudden stop of posting videos but congratulations.
@@BozzLightyr Thanks! It's been far toucher on my time than I ever imagined combined with work, so for now sadly the hobby is on pause. Given how late into 9th we are now, it might be a 10th ed reboot on the channel if timing works out :)
I'm sure you meant well, but sticking to that guide will actually cost people quite a lot of money. As far as I can tell you dont mention that you use parts from at least 2 knights. There is a way to magnetize all options from one kit to save a ton of money, but this is not it.
He said that this came from two knights kits. He recommended magnetizing the individual parts if you don’t want to buy a second knight.
there absoloutley is a president for knight households bieng vassals to legio's. look a house perdaxia and Legio Fureans, or Coldshroud and Gryphonicus and there are far more examples beyond this. (sorry for the necro comment)
