Haha yeah I will ruin the surprise for sure🤣 but on the whole I still think they might be ignored until you pull out the whammy card and unleash the whoop-ass monsters🤣 but if they focus here, your beefed up Scarabs can go to work instead! And they rely on different strats other than perhaps presage to do their thing

Spawn is awesome, just they are crazy expensive $$ wise. Going to have to get some 3d prints.

The good news is, Chaos spawn by definition have no fixed form, so go nuts with conversions/kitbashes

The models are a bit on the old rubbish side for sure. Kit bashing is easy to do with imagination and ensuring the scale remains consistent for those that will no doubt quibble over such things. Plenty out there or as you say get printed alternatives👍

I’ll try and grab a change to measure one for you. Shorter than a dread. Taller than a terminator though

I think my fast attack slots will be 1x5 spawn, 2x3 enlightened with spears. The speed on the tzaangor is great for early strangle hold. With buffed up spawn in the center

I think if you take the Enlightened route you have to be super focused on the secondaries like Engage on All Fronts and be prepared to hug terrain and find something else the opponent needs to focus on. Dropping a 10 man Scarab unit via Teleport or Crystal, or a Helldrake moved right into their deployment as a total distraction while you try and grab those points per turn?

Thanks Nick, I only used spawn in ed. 6 and wasn't very effective, maybe now it's worth trying again. :>)

I mostly airbrushed these but the model from GW is really old and not the best let’s be honest!

I dont understand why all other factions chaos spawn get infernal regeneration which full heals a model but TS dont and cost exactly the same. That is a huge loss that isnt made up for with psychics or strats. For those not liking GWs prices and looks try etsy 3d printed stings, that is what i use and they look great.

They dont have an invul without weaver though >< They are not tzaangors or arcana astartes under the brotherhood role.

Correct. The combo requires weaver for 4++ as mentioned. But it’s one of the most beneficial applications of it in the codex IMO

@@OldAverageBritGaming I am very intrigued by the points cost effectiveness of the spawn. I might try to use them as chaff instead of my usual at some point. I like this codex in general cause of stuff like this.

Hey! Arguably the best anti tank we have now for the points cost. FW units really are very valid with the 5++ built in now. I do wonder though if there will be a revisit on FW models for the TS and see some changes. Even the rapier is nasty now as is the Terrax to deliver warp flamer Rubrics. And the Charybdis pod too.

Yup it’s pretty beefy for those points. I think the codex writers ignored the small print in the FW data slates and FAQ!

Yeah they are nasty old models for sure and I hope they refresh them perhaps when the daemon codex drops. Had to make the best I could do as I tend to stick to official models so there’s no questions at any official GW events

Bullgor's from Age of Sigmar are excellent replacements for the Chaos Spawn models.

Another source of rerolling sure will! Duplicity is still a firm fave but perhaps a second patrol with the Spawn in just for this is a good shout!
