I feel like the limits on Tzaangors and Cultists are the price we have to pay to get the new cheaper points cost. I'll gladly take that trade.

Well it was a farce. In by basket on GW site as soon as it was available. Go to pay and out of stock. Utter crap. It’s in my damn basket it should not be OOS at that point. Had to order from an online retailer which I hope gets enough copies

Yeah my thoughts too. Not codex creep victims but enough tricks and utility to make a good game of it which is all I ever want!

I'm still waiting for what will happen with the summoning of demons, without them all those small changes will be meaningless, since the vehicle has too few units and their combinations. Perhaps it will remain only with the new miniature and in a very stripped-down form-throw 4+ that Tzinch did not deceive you. Throw 3+ that you signed the contract. Throw 2+ that the demons agreed with him :) It will be hard without the Lord of Change. The phalanx is useful for a squad of 10-20, do not forget that the vehicle has a lot of CP and the ability of a free stratagem once per game.

Daemon handling will be interesting. I didn’t do it a huge amount but often ran a daemon patrol. Will this impact the cabal rule if we are not pure codex army wide or not? Can we even summon at all. Not long to find out I guess

Nice review Nick, I suspect that your views may seem too balanced for some 'Sons' officianados however. I do like to see a codex which gives a range of buffs in keeping with the army background - This may be pretty good in that respect. :>)

Exactly!!! And the results from today’s people with early copies looks very promising.

Not sure about some of the CP costs... they seem a little off BUT the tendency in the new codexes is towards being expensive

Yeah the main crutch strats for all factions so far went up so makes sense. But equally we gain CP per turn these days so no biggie for me

Got my order in 1st thing this morning - really quite excited for what the other changes are. I look forward to seeing the full spread of psychic powers. It looks like we are heading from the bottom to the middle tier, not OP, so we will not lose friends when we play, but can surprise if played well.

Nice!! Yeah I’m glad we are not heading down the Ad Mech route and going too of the pile with codex creep. I just want a fair fight v all comers and hopefully this new book gives us that chance👍

Good stuff. From those that released content on their review copies it seems more positive than negative. Except from those that wouldn’t be happy unless we all have 2++ saves and unlimited range mega Smite’s and re-rolls for 1cp 🤣🤣🤣

i think 5 man rubrics will be the norm. They are very durable now, and maybe only taking 10 as a teleporting flame blob with heavy strat use as an alpha strike? More units will give us more board control, which is key in 9th. Compared to other marines, 5++ and dust is a great durability buff on our troops, and the bolters have the strongest ap values

@@jorgenava2021 i think they are unchanged with optio to go to s5 with master buff so brootal But a 10man flamer rubric squad with - 1hit and duplicity will melt any 1 unit and draw fire from the entireopposing army allowing for us to control the entire game They will die, but the shooting needed to kill them will be enormous And vharges eill be required. And then autohit ap2 str 5 or 6 flamers will kill a unit. 300 points well spent imo

5 man rubrics and possibly 10 man Scarab looks doable judging by today’s influencer early codex owner content

So Ive been reading the codex and from what I get so far (correct me if I'm wrong) when upgrading your exalted sorcerer could you also upgrade ahriman with the rehati option from legion command? Since ahriman has the exalted sorcerer keyword. Can't find the restriction for him on that upgrade.

As mentioned on the other reply, its based on the unit/model type not the keyword they have, so I dont believe Ahriman can take a Legion Upgrade :)

With the added wounds it might be a bit much to have the inv save impact but time will tell when we get gaming with the changes!

It never should have affected invuls to be fair. Too janky.

Probably yeah. A few armies I think had the odd rules where armour or inv was not specific and lead to some ugly combos. This was a chance to reset a few clocks on those save mechanics.

The released content so far looks actually promising. Not OP and not useless so I’m happy with what I’ve seen mostly today so far

Excellent video mate, as a Death Guard player it’s awesome to see the Dusty Bois get a massive improvement so far, I hope it continues. The VOTLW stratagem was to be expected as we had the same change in our codex, it was a super strong stratagem for any CSM army so I think GW wants us to not spam it like a lot of CSM players did in 8th. Either way, the +1 Strength to ranged weapons power will be extremely good, especially with your high AP guns and the amount of shots you’ll be putting out.

Yeah totally expected really. Such a crutch strat used every turn on repeat. With units going up in T there has to be a good counter with some way to increase S to have a chance. Adding that boost to warp Flamers or maybe a Contemptor with double heavy bolters…

With the codex out at least for KZreadrs etc what do you think. I'm not overly impressed but I guess better than nothing. I would really like to see the vortex beast good. Also would love to see Magnus played more as I just got him finished and painted and had yet to field him yet

From what I’ve managed to see and read today from those with early copies I don’t think it’s terrible. I’m glad it’s just not an auto buy for the competitive meta players to give us a bad rep, there’s plenty to be positive about I feel.

In defence of the codex, it was played using bad lists by non pure TS players who had the book for just a few days. TTT game vs Grey Knights is like rock v scissors. They had no anti tank, no anti flyer, and in the hands of an experienced tournament player. Give it time.

@@OldAverageBritGaming most of the games were played against grey knights which is also a new codex so same new codex syndrome applies to them. And still GK won all of the matches.
