Duplicity and Time are easily the best, but Knowledge and Scheming both look tempting tbh.

Yeah I think there could be some outliers as I mentioned, but main battalions will undoubtably be Time and Dupe. It will be nice to try a few patrols with something else though to see if some sneaky combos pay off

(edit: correction) You can once teleport two units in one round, once with the Umbralific Crystal and another unit with the Cult of Duplicity spell Sorcerous Facade. Nice way of delivering two Warpflame Bombs. Watch out for Auspex Scan!

You certainly can! Or also run that Forgeworld Terrax Termite and deliver even more! That said I think you’d only really need to do one unit of Flamer Rubrics in most scenarios I feel

@UCKIBLnF1dWXg-tAGqQRiC8Q according to the armybook, that is limited to witchfire spells. Most unfortunately. Who wouldn’t want to move 2 units like that every turn?

I still don't understand why Exalted Mutation can't be given to any HQ (other than named ones). It would be worth going Cult of Mutation just so you can give the relic to a DP. The Trait is meh at best and the power is decent (although, if they made it so it can target units if they are in line of sight and did 1 mw it would be good) but not being able to give it to a DP just makes it not worth tbh.

Yeah it kind of stinks, the power is A-tier+ imho but the rest of it is very passable. Might be handy for a Patrol to mess with your opponents movement at least but I'd take Duplicity over it every day of the week!

Great content as always, feels same about the cults, time and duplicity retain or increase the power that has had before, btw there are some interesting tricks on scheming and prophecy that maybe could be interesting/viable to try on game. Thanks for the content!

Yeah Dupe and Time are certainly the stronger from an objective gaming perspective. Some of the other tricks ill try and cover in the In Depth unit videos where ill highlight the Cult/Strat and/or Pact that stacks the best

I think Jim Vessel in another codex rundown video summed this codex up quite well: there are some powerful combos here, but there are an equal amount of missed opportunities. There are so many arbitrary restrictions it’s genuinely infuriating.

As much as I think this is one of the the most balanced codex releases of 9th ed, with no creep, no mad OP cries from the internet, the lists that are emerging for nearly the majority of TS players became very samey very quickly. And with such a limited choice of units to start with in comparison to many factions, its quite sad to see that of those units, only a few are being used. Exalted, Infernal, Sorcerer, Rubric, Scarab, Contemptor, Helbrute. Thats just 7 units in nearly every list I see! Infuriating!

Honestly the total amount of actually useful stuff in here feels like a codex supplement rather than a whole book. So it annoies me it isn't so we cant add in normal CSM stuff.

I got me self a hexfire and few other goodies….new army and new things to try! Algorithm shinanigans!

Magic is still strong for the Blast, and can still make for a good Patrol choice, but movement and healing I think will win out on the main force detachment
