Excellent video mate, I'm goung to release an indepth video on the Cron set but it seems really good. The Spider is now very good in 9th and a good addition, plus you get three scarabs with the warriors to go with him

Yeah a few factions not included does mean when you put the tin foil hat on that maybe GW have some new models coming down the line for those that are missing... or not :P But they could have done a Speed Freaks collection maybe with a bundled load of vehicles...

Thanks for that, this could be the quick need to use a different video editor as my usual program crashed multiple times, and I needed to render in mono, not stereo (as the audio input is mono through the mic). I'll have the find the right settings and hopefully sort that for next time as it seems I am having to use a new piece of software with way more functions and buttons than I know what to do with :P

Good video as usual, the infiltrators are a good choice just down to the ability to screen out at 12” this can give board control especially in this edition Wyverns are not a bad option.

Thanks Richard. Yeah they do have that ability, I just don't see them still in many lists though with preferences to other units still given. I wonder what regular Guard players think of the Wyvern these days? I guess with so many gaming restrictions its really difficult to get a big picture view?

@@OldAverageBritGaming i think they appear a few more times due to that screen ability, though time will tell. And yeah I mean mass battle tanks seem to be the flavour though personally a couple wyverns round the back field hiding and screening back field pumping out shots is still good. Thing the mobility of the game now makes static gun lines obsolete so wyverns give a better option to heavy weapon mortar teams as they still have mobility.

Agreed that its far too difficult now to sit at the back and just shoot, plus doesn't get you those secondaries. Tanks moving and firing with no weapon penalty is key to that as well.

9:45 I hear exocrines are good right now, and everyone seems to love The Swarmlord because it can grant a nearby unit a second movement phase in place of their shooting phase. That plus the tyrand guard make me want to pick this box up since I don't have any of those units yet. I wish the box game with termagants or hormagaunts instead of gargoyles or genestealers, though, but more genestealers are never a bad thing. I do agree that this feels like an expansion set though you can run a patrol detachment with this box, but I personally feel like broodlords are a better HQ choice to pair with genestealers, meaning that this would have been a better starting box if it contained a broodlord like the Start Collecting box does.

Termagants or Hormagants I feel would have been a better choice too, or as you agreed, the Broodie to go with the Stealers. Feels more thematic and synergised that way right?

I guess GW wanted to go with a box set of big units and swarmy units that were also familiar enough to newer 40k players to sell well, but that does contradict the expansion box feel. It also doesn't make sense to pack a box of units together that don't fit perfectly together in the fluff and on the tabletop. I'm just not sure what GW was thinking with this box. It's not a bad box, and it definitely has some good units, but I feel it could have been slightly better.

Some filler, some killer :) At least the Combat Patrols seem much better considered and thought out so far., be interesting to see what they do for the Tyranids in their CP set - which we are still assuming will be done for every faction of course

Just getting into the hobby of warhammer and looking for a nice and cheap box to start off with. Really liked your short breakdown for each one. Would you recommend the CSM box as a foundation for an army? I do enjoy the aestetics quite a lot but it doesn't feature cultists which I heard are mandatory for any CSM build.

For a new Black Legion Chaos player, I think this is a very good way to start personally. Yeah sure you might want cultists after you have painted this lot, the Cultists of the Abyss set is much nicer than the official cultist unit though, just as a heads up. But this set will get you on your way without “wasted” units that won’t be so bad to use that you shelve them after 2 games, like some collection type sets do.hope this helps!

They're not as great as some years but still good value. If I'd had a new job by now I may have picked up a couple. Unfortunately none for me this year.

Looks like another year my DA and Grey Knights won’t be getting reinforcements. None of these sets interest me I do have a AM force but it’s already at around 3K so I’m good there also.

I think the general feeling is that this yeahs sets are a bit "meh" overall. Nothing really screaming out as totally amazing. Maybe a SoB set would have got a lot more interest from the community though?

Necron will probly sold out on preoder day.

I suspect so, m its a great add to the Indomitus set I would say, so a good way to expand those new faction collections with the newest (ish) codex!

I play nids and dont feel the need to buy this one. The gargs are useless. i got 20 because i really like the model but only s3 and t3 is really bad. i have genestealers and they do what u expect, kill something and then blow up. which is kinda eh because u need to buff their movemet and build aropund them to make it kinda worth. The hive tyrant feels underwelming but its good at flying fast and standing on objektives. But dont expect it to kill anything neer its own price point. The shooting bugs(asuming u build exocrine and hive guard(u should))its another archetype and u need to go all in buffing ur back line shooting bugs. But the archetype of 3 exocrines and as many hiveguard as possible while durable bugs walk up the table seems like the best way to go. Hope it was a good insigt. (sorry no , Englsih it not my first language)

Thats a great inside Anders thanks for sharing! As I said I haven't played Nids for like years, and only played against them in recent editions very rarely. Another vote on the "meh" list for this years boxed sets then! Appreciate you watching and commenting sir :)

Thanks for checking Nick and Zombie. I had to make this using Vegas 14 rather than my easy to use software which kept crashing for 3 hours solid last night. So had to rapid learn a new program! When I saw this I thought maybe the wrong mic was selected and was picking up a webcam audio! Glad its all ok though now :)

As a nid player this is definitely a pass. The genestealers got nerfed into oblivion and gargs aren’t really worth it. So you are just paying for everything else

I thought as much on the Gargolyes. What happened with the Stealers though? I haven't seen too many battle reports this year (obvious reasons!) to see how much they have been impacted by 9th edition.

25% point increase + their best trait was killing, and in 9th killing is kinda not really necessary, especially for nids, since there is more that enough units that are are just god tier for the objectives, like lictor and scramblers, or neuro and psy ritual

I see where you are coming from now. Survivability on objectives being more critical than outright killing, which is what Stealers are bad at (survive) and good at (killing) but thats no longer the key to victory anymore. Its amazing how quickly a core rule change to the missions makes on such great units that have been part of the 40K universe for ever.

Yup, overall quite bland offerings really with no huge thought put into it. Almost like they were given a target value amount and then told to add kits until that value was achieved and job done!
