As someone just starting blood angels this is a pretty good video to see pop up! I'm kinda glad I got the Indomintus box instead of waiting to see the combat patrol and battle force boxes. But I'm still gonna wait for the supplement to come out before getting anything further I think.

Probably wise when expanding forces like that. The BA supplement is supposed to be this year I think, so not too long to wait now. I wonder if it will be this weekend when the Gladiator variant is on pre order? Good timing on the video :)

Congratz on the subs mate, a great milestone, onwards and upwards. Nice video as well, that set looks nothing like Blood Angels, were are all the mini marines ha ha

The Blood Angels box just seems very off-point in terms of adding value to a Blood Angels force for new players.

How do you mean by off point Commander? I get that these units won’t be the optimum build as is for a Combat Patrol exactly as is, but I do feel that a BA army would find a suitable use for all of these units as a build into a bigger force. Love to hear your thoughts 👍

@@OldAverageBritGaming I guess what I mean is the fact there's not a single close combat unit in the box when Blood Angels strength is close combat, maybe you could argue the Aggressors would be close-combat but they are a lot weaker now in 9th edition and I don't think they are competitive enough to field.

@@shadowknght22 maybe I just see only 2 of the units as useful for us and the Impulsor is questionable so £85 for 5 Infiltrators.

Thanks Nick, I totally agree that the BA set is very nice value and will certainly be a useful add on to my red-armoured guys.

The battleforce is such a disappointment. I want an Impulsor, and a warsuit. But sweet throne of Terra I do not want ten more Reivers.

Could convert them to incursors/infiltrators with spares from the other sprues with a bit of work. Then the question becomes do you need 20 of those though...

I literally bought the blood angel box yesterday and now I get this video recommended lol I am gonna sell the impulsor for like 40 Euros on ebay and hopefully make back half the cost of what I payed for whole box (90 in total).

Hey bud, Do you get the full sprue for the models/units? Like, would you have the weapon selection for each model, or are they big moulds with no choice what wargear they hold?

Hi! These boxed sets are the full kits, so you get all the options in there as if buying them in the regular individual boxes.

No worries. My friends have ordered the DW set and the aggressors were the full kit as an example

I can bet you can get the same point value with the combat patrol box and some of the new vehicles with a better unit distribution than the vanguard box for approximately the same price

I pick up a psm christmas box at my LGS for about $170 I think thats a pretty good deal even for the not so top notch content

Yup buying via your FLGS is always the way to go for me on the big price ticket items for sure

I play Ultramarines, and I'd say the BA Combat Patrol is also a pretty good Supplement for an ultramarine army. (From my own experience)

Yeah I think it’s got enough in there for most marine players tbh!

It’s quite an adaptable set but it just seems fairly generic. These will be a cheaper way of bumping up any Space Marine force - and you get some chapter upgrade sprues to sell on eBay.

I guess the generic bit is that Primaris is so generic now, which as you say makes it Chapter neutral for any SM collector, and spin the upgrade frame off to eBay or friends.

I will probably get this box set(BA) if I can't get the heavy intercessors or the gladiator tank ...at my local hobby store on boxing day🇨🇦

I'm getting one. Units I don't own at the moment (librarian, impulsor, incursors) and an upgrade sprue which I'm a sucker for (rule of cool amirite?). Also very much looking forward to the announced but not yet released kits for heavy ints, BGV, eradicators, assault ints! Hard pass on the interdiction force though. Yeah christmas is going to be expensive at this rate...

Makes sense right for the Christmas cash.vouchers etc? Interdiction pass, but spend on the other new model options that are coming seems to make far more sense.

@@OldAverageBritGaming Yeah, I don't mind reavers for the looks (doesn't help that their rules are trash) and incursors/impulsor are acceptable for troops/transport of a box set but the phobos shooty captain and invictor are where I draw the line personally. No appeal whatsoever in these units for blood angels, looks-wise, lore-wise and rules-wise. The upcoming stuff though, I will find a use for no matter what :)

Gladiator tanks on pre order this weekend I believe. Certainly find a reason to buy those for sure, rule of cool. I liked the Invictor despite the "thin" tech background to it being stealthy. But the lack of Core rule makes it get reconsidered in list building.

Does this box have to be built as Blood Angels, or can you build them as another chapter?

You can paint them any chapter you like! You do get that Primaris Blood Angel frame included which I’m sure you can sell in via eBay or a trading group on Facebook if you go that route too.

Only issue with these units is that none of them is unique blood angels units. Just space marines painted red. I'm just interested if they ever do a death guard box/dark angels/thousand sona

I think the issue is all Primaris are this way really now. I mean, even the SW special Reiver unit and Death Company are just plain Primaris with some bling on.

For open thematic play I like this a lot. It feels like a Patrol, some sneaky stuff, some line troops and a junior officer in charge. Against friends playing like minded this will be fun! But as soon as anyone drops some tough armour down, a dreadnought or a tough monster it might struggle a little to kill it.

Blood Angels set do look far more decent as far as selection and value. Hopefully the future is looking bright for future Combat Patrol sets, past few so far have been meh imo.

Totally agree, seems like a bit more thought has gone into creating these 25PL/500 point armies as a collection to buy. Hopefully that means good news for the remaining factions that should get one of these sets too!

Im gonna get that box and sell the tank, librarian, and upgrade sprue.

I can see a few do that tbh, even if you get slightly under retail (or discounted retail) the units you want will be a bargain price!

get the cp box and intercessors for the same price as the bf box. kit bash the incursor parts on 5 intercessors

Totally underwhelming! The CP ones do seem better thought out though which is promising for the future of those with other factions. Still holding on for the mythical Aspect Warrior updates!

IG have always been in a tricky place for bundled deals for me. They have to throw in tanks and Guardsman, but its always quite bland. A heavy Weapon team and a command squad. Yes its kind of required, but it does lack a little flavour that could be introduced with Scions or Bullgryns and even the odd Flyer.
