What I like is that the lady host of the show where that exchange took place was clearly aware of what he was talking about and fully supportive of his hobby, rather than treating it as childish like the other women on the show. Most women seem to treat him as a chunk of meat, and not as a person with interests that they might think are the territory of men they wouldn't think are attractive or worthy of attention.

It's Graham Norton his job is to entertain the audience. Plus if you in his situation would've actually got offended by him mocking your geeky past time you are just very sensitive.

This is why us fans love the guy. He speaks our lang and knows his shi*t. He is no joke to the Warhammer lore, Witcher lore, and Warcraft lore. He sees and understands the fans side of things very well. Absolute GIGGA CHAD for the not even just the so-called "nerd" community but all fan bases as well. Star Wars has Sam Witwer as their resident actor who is also a major fan.

I sincerely hope that Cavill beats the odds and turns his upcoming Warhammer 40k series into a success. He has a seriously large uphill battle ahead of him because of Games Workshop and Amazon. But because Cavill will be an executive producer, and because he's a passionate fan who's been burned by the people he's worked for, I really do hope he can pull it off. The guy deserves a break, and Hollywood needs more people like Cavill.

Afaik he left his roles on his own volition. Nobody took them from him. He just knows when things aren’t meeting his standards.

The most under appreciated part of all of this is the fact that even when people joke about his nerdy interests he NEVER dismisses them and genuinely encourages people to keep an open mind. Most people might get defensive or closed off but the only way these things will grow is if more people feel encouraged to give them a try. All I want is for Henry’s WH40K series to be amazing & it can only succeed if regular people are encouraged to watch

I love it! I was a fairly closeted comic and RPG guy growing up in the 80s and 90s. Played Warhammer 40K, D&D, etc. This was a VERY different time when people were demonized and ridiculed for these hobbies. Less so as the 90s progressed, but absolutely nothing like now, where you see parents and athletes wearing Captain America shirts, and these are multi-billion dollar franchises. I'm glad Henry is fighting the good fight to maintain integrity in these genres and projects as woke zealots are unflinchingly trying to burn it to the ground. Most of which are just there for a paycheck, anyway.

In my university i had free time in a class day and i had 3 hours until the bus to my home came to pick me up, then i decided to finish painting my mangler squig for my gloomspite gitz boyz, then a guy saw me painting it and who would have thought that it was a guy from who shared like 3 classes with me, and the guy said "yo thats some Bad Moon radness over there" then we talked a little, he actually has a Beasts of Chaos army, and the guy paints them really well, we have played 5 games, i have 2 wins and he has 3, and he introduced me to the full community of 45 guys that play Age of Sigmar and 40k in the campus!

If someone is gonna be the undisputed king of Nerds, I think all nerds would agree that it should be Henry Cavill

He should play a Rogue Trader and not one that's ever been written about before. If he's the star, he has to carry the show and being a Primarch, Custodes or Astartes would be far too limiting. He has to serve as an introduction to the universe for a mass audience, which means he should play a role that allows him to essentially be a tour guide to 40k.

Tbf it's good what he's doing. He's showing everyday people that the hobby isn't really that sad. Like if someone that good looking and successful is still passionate about this seemingly laughable hobby...Well it doesn't look all that sad imo. Honestly if there was a legit movie about 40k with full Hollywood budget...fucking every teen boy to young man in the US and UK would absolutely love it from the fighting scenes alone. The table top aspect? Yeah you probably can't make that cool, that will always be niche. But the actual 40k lore? There is an entire part of the 40k fan base now that are totally into 40k...but barely care about the hobby. Hell I told friends about how crazy 40k is and they are enthralled, about the lore not the game.

it is the media and boomers in General. His Hobby for once, but second is the extreme objectification of Henry. There are so many clips of Woman either touching or talking about Henrys body in the way they shouldnt.. but yet no one really cares because he is a man which makes this normal.. sadly.

Dude honestly loves the universe so much he can't choose which character he would like to play if given free reign. "Yeah, playing Eisenhorn would be cool...but then I couldn't play a Primarch! Or the Captain-General". Love it.

i liked snyders version way more than any previous live action superman movie..but i don't know anything about the comics so i am probably wrong. james gunn is going to go back to superman roots with alter ego clark kent which i dislike. romance, clark kent, daily planet... *puke* why would anyone wanna see superman as clark kent on the big screen? in series sure but not on the big screen.. people want to see crazy action and a good simple coherent story.

He's a human being, what did you expect? He's not playing an act or a role he's just being himself and that's why i respect Henry more than any other actors out there. He didn't just break the stereotype but also completely ignored it, which is what most people should strive to do too. Fuck stereotypes and be honest with yourself like Henry is right here

Honestly, him opening up about his interests gives me more confidence in just embracing this side of me more. I happen to have interests in things that some might find geeky but who cares, geek has become a cool thing more and more these days. Those that don't know that are a bit out of touch, but nonetheless we may have to brush off their banter from time to time. Thank you Henry! For showing the world you can be insanely masculine and a geek and just rock it.

Fair play to Henry. He loves his Warhammer, Warcraft and Gaming etc and I love that he tells "mainstream" interviews about it.

Henry should play Vulcan that way. He can explain to the producers how he has to be in black body and face paint and it not be considered black face because of an of nocturne's radiation in lore.

Man it’s unfortunate how everyone is so impressed by him not feeling ashamed by this. Just be you and own that shit no matter what it is. People are drawn to confidence and genuine people and often celebrate that about them no matter what it is. Don’t hide who you are; it’s fake

Well, Cavill is himself and is open about what he likes no matter if others around respect that or even understand - and all that in a business where many others consider every word said and every move done in public from the perspective how it will promote or harm their image. Doesn't it make Cavill very good role model for exactly what you are proposing? I do not think it is unfortunate at all. It only would be sad if someone started pretending to like WH40k just to be like Cavill despite not actually liking it - but I do not see that happening. ;-)

Somebody needs to bring 40k to screen in a serious way, with a big budget. Never played the games or anything, but just from watching YT lore, the concept is fascinating.

With Black Library and GW as it is now? I seriously doubt that they could write a decent story to stand up on it's treatment and screen play alone. A focus on something like Storm of Iron would perhaps work, with minimal changes, however I would still expect GW to fuck it up somehow with their involvement.

Funny how he has been doing Warhammer all these years but doesn't have ONE photo of him in childhood playing it. Almost like it's PR fiction to get the simps to overhype this show which will be yet another live action disappointment which trends towards wokeness over time.

It has now come full swing. Can’t wait to see Henry build the 40k cinematic universe

If I owned Gameworkshop I'd give this guy the best contract possible, because he not only loves the universe, but he promotes it, loves it and would be a great asset to pushing the universe forward. GM would be a fool not to take him in the future.
