Henry Cavill on His Warhammer Hobby, the Least Searched Questions About Him & Grilling on Set
Комедия
Henry talks about his Warhammer hobby, growing up on a small island, the outdoor grill set up on set with director Guy Ritchie, working with Alan Ritchson, his new movie The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, his character of the film being the inspiration for James Bond, training his handlebar mustache, and he answers the least searched questions about him.

@TheCanipaEffect for clarity as well the 1st season when it stayed as true to the book as possible is when they had those writers that liked the books. Fun fact, these shows are scripted and rehearsed. Kimmel is very much a nerd like Cavill, and he is part of one of the biggest and most well-known D&D groups in the world. He absolutely knows warhammer. He plays the part of his audience, who are casual media enjoyers that would not have the patience or interest in hardcore hobbys. Cavill understands he is unusual for his looks paired with his hobby, he has stated he is used to it, and loves to introduce people to his hobby. People often forget that acting and film production is a nerd interest, and is filled with nerds and geeks. Pretty much all actors and actresses have some nerd hobbies, and most of them hide it pretty well. Cavill is a hardcore enthusiast and is very open about it, mostly because he priorities it over his career and his community are very proud to have him. Thus we get these seemingly ignorant and passive aggressive interviews that irk anyone in the know, and is an interesting topic to the casuals.
I have a friend who has worked with Henry Cavill. What you see is what you get. He's a great guy.
As a kid, the bullies convinced me that being a nerd was a bad thing, but now I realize it's a badge of honor. It means I have imagination, intelligence, and passion. And the bullies had jealousy. @evolicious
24 күн бұрын
@@KingLuis1985 Yes and no. Those are nerd hobbies and interests (gym/workout only until recently has become nerdy), sports are still on their way to becoming that way, but very slowly, there is still an old guard that is gatekeeping interest in most physical sports. I think you are skipping the social ineptness (and even antisocial) figure of "nerd", which is what society really qualifies as such. Like technology, science, math, video and board games, media, art, etc. Interior design is one of those I would consider a meta art, it really doesn't follow a lot of creativity and focuses more on contemporary looks. Very far from being in "nerd" realm. Especially considering it's more for the interest group that obsesses over modernism and extroverted appearances. Nerd culture is more introvert. Which is a good word to talk about acting with. Acting is very much a extroverted activity, however, a majority of actors and actresses are very introverted when they are not behind the camera. People like Cavill, Kimmel, Conan, Letterman, etc are often found to prefer being introverted when they do not have to be "the show". This is due in part to cinema and media in general being a very nerd culture. The knowledge of history for past present and future of the interest, the knowledge of technology and the art of the final imagined cut, and of course the aspect of doing it for themselves, not for others. Which I find very antithesis when it comes to talk shows.

Henry may not look much like the comics but he knows what the idea of Superman means. He knows why people love Superman. Also he had no shame in accepting that people did not like Snyder's version. He acknowledges as well as respects the movie fans and the comic fans which is so rare these days. He may not had a good story or character written for Modern Day Superman as per some (Man of Steel is my second most favorite Superhero movie after Watchmen) but he tried his best to portray the character that was given to him. Bro I'm dying to read the Superman movie that Henry and Mission Impossible director Chris Mcquarrie pitched to WB, who sadly turned them both down. Such a shame. However Cavill isn't an A level star (probably at least B - C level) and that to some degree I can understand WB being a little hesitant to bring him back due to his demands that maybe he hadn't quiet earned, but at the same time WB was also being extremely difficult as well.

this may be the most charming interview featuring the most charming man i've ever seen.
I've never seen Geralt smile this much. Ciri did a great job!
I think maybe Jimmy is a bit intimidated by Henry. Henry is a renaissance man if you ask me! He is a man with many hobbies and interests without arrogance and bravado. I think he unsettles people because he is the whole package and he is intelligent and not a jerk.

He is the embodiment of not judging a book by its cover. In college a friend of mine that was a bodybuilder told me, we are all nerds. Henry is good proof of that.

He's played spies like 3-4 times already. The guy he's playing was literally one of Ian Fleming's inspirations for James Bond in real life. Let the man own his own thing, he doesn't need to be shoehorned into pre-existing thing.
Remember he’s making warhammer projects with Amazon, so shows, movies and more are being headed by him, and I can’t think of anyone better
If there is one thing that connects us all it is love for this dorky, beautiful and charming guy.
He's getting even more handsome with age...how is that possible! 😍

Cavill is so dam charming when he talks about something he likes its a treat to behold! Lets go 40K show! Make it a thing!

Arguably the greatest guy in Hollywood.
Bro, i can not explain hov much i love Henry, he is perfection.
That man is just intimidatingly wonderful.
I'm older than Henry, but he's the epitome of everything I could've wanted in a big brother.
His love and passion for gaming and representing gaming in the right way is so nice to see especially cause its tough to get movie/tvshow adaptions of the games we love and enjoy
Henry just puts a smile on my face! Thank you for making my day!
Henry is pure perfection 😍🤗☺️first time I saw him on The tudors
My son has played this for years he went to Poland and few years ago for the world championships. We visited the Warhammer store in Scotland.
He seems very sincere and earnest with his answers
This might be the one rare occasion where Jimmy Kimmel is being respectful of a nerdy hobby. Good to see him genuinely asking question about it without interjecting his usual jab.

OUR. GUY.
Hollywood has done this guy dirty, Superman & The Witcher. I support his films, class act.
Just a little context: Cavill plays Adeptus Custodes, the smallest model-count army in 40k. With his schedule, it's probably the only way he could get a painted force on the table.
He's our advance guard, sent out by by the hobbyists to lay the path for us to get better paint supplies. Lovely bloke, even for an Arbites player.
By chance I was visiting the HMS Belfast in London last month when the cast was having the photo call. An enormous entourage of professional-looking people boarded and I thought something interesting was happening. Then Mr Cavill, Mr. Ritchie and the rest of the cast boarded the ship, walked right past me, took a short tour of the ship before the photo call. The gentleman is just as imposing in person as he is on the big screen. The coolest part was that there was almost no one viewing the ship at the time. Good luck with the new film! I am looking forward to it.
I love how everyone loves Henry on an equal level, he can do no wrong.
Still Superman. No one else since Reeves can hold a figure. Edit: Also a great James Bond
Speaking as a fellow Warhammer nerd: we love you Henry.
Still mad we didn't get to see his Superman flourish!
The grey coming in at his temples makes him look like Mr. Fantastic.
