I just got my very first box of exalted sorcerers, and omfg, I love it! Nobody ever told me how there's so many extra bits and options for making 3 sorcerers! The booklet has 2 builds for each torso+leg bits, but all the arms, stave toppers, heads, and back units fit and look great no matter what setup I tried. Also any of the 3 legs can go on the disc of tzeentch and still look as though it belongs there. I have space marines, custodes, and imperial knights. Good kits with enough to be satisfied; but pales in comparison to this thousand sons box.

The Exalted boxed set is a staple of all TS players! The perfect source for mixing into Rubric squads to make more interesting Aspiring Sorcerers. It’s a gold mine of awesomeness!

Thematic? Sure. Ahriman told them they needed to fight like Astartes again during Prospero. So beat stick works thematically. Nice vid

Hehe this was the first build I had made and played 2 games with it to beat some wolves into submission, it works awesomely and I will never leave home without this guy.

Nice, I love me a bit if smitey cc. That’s why DP with wings and claws was my favourite in 8th. If I had TS I’d have a crack at this guy.

I’m with ya. I have 2 Princes with talons I had for the last edition. Always in every list was at least 1!

I have been looking at using some if not all of these ideas with my lists.

It is definitely thematic. After all, some of the Thousand Sons put their learning into becoming more proficient warriors (such as Sanahkt from the Horus Heresy, and the Khenetai Blade Occult) Definitely like both of these builds.

Glad you liked the builds. And yeah some history shows the TS being combat proficient for sure, just didn't always get reflected in the rules until now. Legion Command and proper nice relics really help!

Where does the heal D3 on 4+ come from?

Just a note, our Current iteration of "Aetherstride" does not grant Charging after advancing.

Its the relic Thrydderghre that gives that ability. Both builds I mention here include this relic Disc of Tzeentch. Fall back and still cast, and declare a charge in a turn in which it advanced, plus consolidate 6" in any direction

That second build would be great vs the new cadian conscripts blob. A few mortal wounds, som shooting, close combat with mortal wounds and morale should finish a unit like that.

The high volume beat stick variant definitely works against those single wound blobs. 12 attacks, 2's and 2's plus mortals and of course morale really can prove a nice swing in combat!

They look great, though I'm still hooked on using Athen Scrolls to get constant 9+ Firestorms and using the time warlord trait for an extra cast.

There are definitely ways to tweak or fiddle around to suit your preference, but its just really nice to be able to do this kind of et up in the new codex. Previously it was double swords and Diabolic and that was it...

@@OldAverageBritGaming I agree. When there are lots of different ways to play an army you know the book has been done well. I've only recently chose TS as a new army to collect so not sure of the previous iterations.

Agreed! Although the top build list for the TS competitively is looking mostly similar with minimal variation, from a regular gaming player perspective, even with our way less units as a faction, the relics and strats we have make for some very cool variation to play, which as you say is a sign of a good book. I hope we get some good Daemon interaction when that book comes along.

@@theomen49 an unmodified 9+ rolling 3d6 and dropping the lowest is 113/216=52.31%

What are your thoughts on having a supporting Tzaangor shaman with Glamour of Tzeetch following one of these sorcerers up the board? Worth the points investment for a little more durability on an exposed and expensive hq? Or better off spent somewhere else?

Difficult to say I think. I see a few players swear by a Shaman for secondaries, but following an Exalted build like this is interesting to offer additional psychic buffs. But it does them expose 2 characters, which can feed assassinate points for your opponent. Unless you crystal or teleport in on top with additional SoT or Rubrics to give them even more help

Yah I agree, and the spares make for a Rubric Sorcerer kit bashes too!

Nice video. Also, I believe sorcerer with the Warpweave mantle (relic) and Guided by whispers (warlord trait, prophecy) that is further than 3" from any unit cannot be charged.

Against Ad Mech I think its pretty effective. Dhrukari though, they have a lot more specialist melee options so could come undone. But then again both those factions are still dominating the scene right now, and slinging characters in to melee like this could be dangerous rather than rely on mid the super mid range shooting and psychic phase that the TS excel at.
