Excellent and really subjective review, thank you Really pleased to hear your comments, as I ordered one this morning to replace a really old ( and somewhat temperamental ) Record RP3000 chuck. I would really have preferred to get an SC3 as my lathe is a lightweight Record Coronet from way back with a 3/4in x 16tpi thread, but the SC3 has a fixed thread size, so not future proof , and if I do get a new lathe, it will certainly have a bigger shaft thread, probably the M33 that's on the chuck body. Record do turn out good stuff, I changed the bearings and belt on the lathe today after 30 years of use, all of which were in fact in perfect order.

thanks for responding. The big fear of oily rags, this is it, , , it does polymerize, and that is what causes spontaneous combustion. I takes forever to dry, it does eventually cure. I concocted a multi-ingredient finish which included unboiled linseed, bees wax, and shellac that took 3 weeks to harden, that was 8 years ago, and it still looks fine, and is quite resistant to water and other everyday use ( it is a saya I made for my guyoto). so it is exposed to relatively adverse conditions@@RickTurnsWoodturning
