    Rick, stunning work as always. I think you said "fairly simple" during this video which made me chuckle. NOTHING in this video was fairly simple but it was great to watch. You must have nerves of steel to take on such a project while WE all watch over your shoulder. I would be in the corner weeping if forced to do such a task. Camera work was professional grade and so crisp. I did start looking at chucks (based on your info) but was quickly overwhelmed with sizes and features and prices. Not giving up. You rock!

    Looks great and I'm sure the recipient will be happy with it. It's a really nice present. That spot in the middle could be a UFO. Also, silicone glue (similar to caulk) would hold it and allow for wood movement. Stay safe. Bill

    I love it! I collect lighthouses. I saw something when you were done. That picture, cut out of wood with each piece separate, different woods. Anyway, that happened when I looked at that as a wall hanging rather than flat on table. Thanks for another wonderful video. Stay healthy

    That circle in the middle, I think its a mark that you put there to remind you that there should be a seagull shaped inlay there, or perhaps a pelican, or an anchor, or a number of nautical enigmas. I guess I would go with the symbol for whatever job the recipient had in the Navy, or a gull.

    I notice you don’t have the ends of your logs waxed. I thought that was something people say you should do. Is that a thing, or is it one of those “sometimes” things?

    My logs aren't waxed, but they are coated with Titebond glue - I've found it is a better sealer than Anchorseal, and a lot easier to use than wax. Here's a link to my video about that: kzread.info/dash/bejne/Yo561qauj9nPeZM.html
