    I have that exact same syringe but the power steering reservoir in my 2018 370z has a screen or something in it and I can’t get the syringe hose to get any more than like 10% of the fluid out because the hose can’t go far enough in. Did you remove the screen in yours or did your G not have anything like that in the reservoir?

    It's coincidental that the video is 7 years old and I just saw a review on Northern Tool's website for these from a customer with a G37 - it was posted 7 years ago by user name "Catfan" from San Leandro, CA. It would be funny if that was you. For some reason (7 years later) , they are no longer available and I think they were exclusive to Northern Tool (and Walmart), and they have replaced them with a poly carbonate set under the Ironton brand at about $60 (May 2024). Your idea was brilliant. You may have been just responsible for the design change. They may have seen your idea as a liability and discontinued them. Why else would they? Walmart carried them also, but don't know. After that long, you'd expect them to be $20 more, but you wouldn't expect the design to change so drastically. Now they look like tire treads, which is okay too and I may get a pair. Great video!

    Hey I’m having a heck of a time working with my system and hope you can help with some ideas. I have an 08 350z, upgraded clutch and lightweight flywheel from z1, jwt hd slave set up with less than 1k miles on them. It drove fine and one day I noticed a squishy pedal / hard to put in gear so I assumed the oe master was giving out (120k on it). Replaced the master, bench bled it, adjusted rod and clevis so there is no preload whatsoever on it. I have bled the system over 20 times now every possible way and am left with a soft pedal while cold and when it warms up it gets extremely hard. Do you have any suggestions at all for this issue???

  • @MotorvateDIY
    @MotorvateDIYАй бұрын

    According to the factory service manual, the rod/clevis length is 5.26" / 133.55 mm and I would verify that lengh. If it is over or under adjusted, the master cylinder may not be able to allow proper fluid flow. I assume that you have tried a gravity bleed, so other than that, I'm out of ideas.

  • @MotorvateDIY
    @MotorvateDIYАй бұрын

    I'm not sure which project you are asking about, so I'll mention both: The GTR gauges for the G37, should work on the 370, as long as it is a 2010-2017 and has navigation. Local beta testing will confirm this. The non-nav / stand alone GTR "look a like" screen is planned, but no software development has started yet. Required hardware has been purchased and it waiting for me :) For the next little while, my free time is dedicated to getting the GTR gauges out for local testing, plus a few smaller products. Should I change all four of my brake pads first before I flush my brake system? Or should I flush my system first then break pads?

  • @MotorvateDIY
    @MotorvateDIY2 ай бұрын

    Interesting question! I would change the pads then flush the brakes. This way, you have already pushed in the caliper piston, which forces the old fluid into the brake line... Then when you flush the brake lines, you might get a little more of the oil fluid out. Good luck!

    That's pretty freakin sweet dude... Been looking around extensively for a all-in-one display or at least modular display, specifically a rectangular one, that displays tire pressure, coolant temp, and oil pressure. Those awesome TPMS systems don't exist with those additional features (too bad, because those are perfect for replacing the compass etc. display above the rear-view in older SUVs). Pretty much ALL of the oil/coolant gauges out there are those ugly as sin giant round things that can't really be modified for a somewhat factory/integrated look that I very much prefer. If your car doesn't have TPMS from the factory Ill bet a 433mhz receiver on your server and aftermarket valve stems would get you that data fairly easily..

  • @MotorvateDIY
    @MotorvateDIY2 ай бұрын

    This won't interfere with EcuTek. The navigation system configuration change doesn't change anything externally, so there is no way I can see it causing any EcuTek issues. I will verify this in the next few weeks, when I start the tuning process. I've never thought about a boost control add-on and will look into it once the GTR gauges are done testing. Thanks for the suggestion.

    how do i get rid of that tire pressure light on my dash for my g37?

  • @MotorvateDIY
    @MotorvateDIY2 ай бұрын

    There are 2 ways to do this: (1) Fix the TPMS problem. You may have one or more dead TPMS sensors or they may not be programmed to your car. (2) Temporary fix: Use a scan tool to clear the codes on the BCM. This will turn off the TPMS light for 15 minutes to a few days. As you can see, option 2 really isn't very good, so option 1 is the best and permanent fix.

    This is misleading AF.. what you have hooked up is nothing more than an open loop PWM circuit that is typically used to control the power in a circuit by turning a transistor on and off really quickly. More on time = more power.. Computers in the cars that control these throttle bodies are closed loop circuits. Meaning that the ECU monitors the pedal position and makes sure that the throttle blade matches the requested throttle position via TPS Sensor. If not, the computer adjusts the position using PWM and a PID to control the throttle blade. Most throttle bodies have a park position that is open from the position usually used when the engine is idle, which means it must use reverse polarity to pull the throttle valve closed to reduce air flow to control idle. so your little transistor there is not even close to accurate since they use an H-bridge to control them. Speed, position, response etc are all controlled by a PID (Machine control algorithm) and if you want to change the characteristics of your DBW throttle, you need access in the tune to do so. Either know what you're talking about and speak facts, or don't say anything at all.

    The G35/G37 use an oil pressure switch. Based on bench testing, it turns on the low oil pressure light when the pressure is 4 psi or less. That is VERY low!! Typically you will have cam phasing codes (P0011/P0021) due to low oil pressure way before the low oil pressure light turns on. An oil pressure gauge is an excellent idea! It allows you to keep an eye on the actual oil pressure, which just may save your engine if something happens. A sandwich plate works well, but the oil pressure reading will be slightly higher (~1-5 psi) as you are sensing oil pressure BEFORE the oil filter. The factory oil port is connected AFTER the oil filter and it the same pressure as the main oil galleries. On my G37, I removed the factory oil pressure switch about 2 years ago, and replaced it with a 150 PSI pressure sensor. So, you have 2 good option! Any oil pressure gauge is better than no oil pressure gauge!

    Hi bud, I have the weirdest problem! I went to change the air filter and thought to check and clean the throttle body butterfly. It was fully open which I thought was strange as had no real issues, I mean I have thought the car was a little sluggish on acceleration (delayed) and thought maybe my EGR choking. I always put good quality treatment into fuel and try different types so thought maybe not so... Lately had a little stuttering at the first few lights after leaving the house first thing but not pulling off the drive? My throttle body was fully open with engine off, I sprayed it and wiped but was pretty clean... as you could wish for, I sprayed in with engine running spurts of spray at a time but no movement with butterfly? I had my naibours grandchild come with half decent scan tool tablet a month or two earlier to check car after I gave him a toe and he said that there was no codes, which he thought was suprising. I dont know if he knows fully whats wha but he mentioned my pedal showing depressed 19% ?? he didnt start the car with scan tool plugged in which I asked and said that I thought you could but he said not with his tool. He said he wiped the car for any codes anyhows. Oh I did have a funny few weeks with my battery dying a while back and got that checked but came back fine (just needs a charge so I bought a smart charger and let it do its thing but it kept dying on me and then I put the battery on a full repair charge and its been fine since plus i've kept car in a lower gear to charge up more as my brother said I was driving like a pussy... trying to save miliage 😂 Any idea bud why my butterfly is full open with no real issue on idle or revs going high and once the car warms up all other issues apart from sluggish accelorator dissapear! oh and I disconnected the battery a few times to charge so I assume the sensor would have reset as ive heard on another vid to disconect the negative. I have been worried why my surpentine/alternator belt seems slightly worn on the outside but looks great on the ribbed inside? I thought maybe my issues was the belt tensioner or idle pulley but strange how the black is wearing off on the outside and all looked good with no movement on the tensioner. I did hear the other night late on when it was quiet a little rythmic chirp ever so quiet which i've not heard before which makes me think the idle pulley but cant make head way with the throttle body butterly fully open? • @prodzektownia

    Diesel does not have regular throttle body, it have throttle body to shut off the engine, this throttle is open full all the time and only close when you turn off your engine, this is safety feature of newer diesel engines, it protect engine from runaway. In older diesels when turbo seals blow up turbo is spraying oil into intake and even when you turn off the engine/cut fuel supply it still run and it run like hell, max rpm's and shit ton of black smoke. It will stop when there will be no more oil in the engine. Back to the topic this throttle is normally open, in pertol cars throttle is normally close so in you car throttle is used for like 5 seconds and it goes back to its normal position
