Glad to make them. I can't believe I have only been out here twice. It's probably the open season. I like fishing rivers when it's cold out but the season here makes it only fishable mostly when it's hot. I think that's what has kept me away. I was melting out there!

@@wildernesswithamani1027 yea, a lot of those places you gotta try and plan your trip accordingly with season & weather in mind. When I was young we used to fish only mornings and evenings. But over the years better fishermen than I have taught me fish will bite mid day if you get a good enough offering close enough to where they are hiding. This and your last one from there prove that is true. Another good video...your videos leave me feeling like a dog watching steaks being grilled on the barbecue. I watch here from Mexico and drool! Had phone on my lap. Window was down. Heard a noise next to me. A bear was next to truck, paws o roof. He was inches from me. We were nose to nose. Luckily he turned and ran. Thanks lord. Amani- Rick from Idaho. I like those root wads sunk into the bank. That type of habitat restoration appears to be providing cover for trout! I was involved with that type of habitat restoration in Oregon and within hours after installation of the root wad/tree, fish were using the newly formed habitat. Hopefully some entity will continue installing them along the upper Truckee. FYI the black maribou jig works fine up in Idaho! Keep on fishing.

I strongly recommend confirming all fishing regulations from official sources. With that said, it is my understanding that the East Carson is artificial all year and the West Carson is under general regulations. Again, best to get the info from the Regulation guide online. Page 55 or 56 is where the chart for special regulation trout water is and 5.85 is the section that spells out why many rivers are now open year round with stricter regulations during the off season. Good luck.
