The Pit River was Just the Beginning of My Frustration.

I drove the nearly 3 hours to fish the Pit River and it all went downhill from there.

My experience is that recent hatchery plants take at least 24+ hours (generally 2+ days) before the fish acclimate and start feeding again.

Yeah, when you drive 6 hours to end up getting skunked at a lake only 2 hours from your front door it is quite the adventure! I was just in an area where I don't have a lot of experience so I was scrambling blind! I always wonder what the fun is for people to catch fish right out of the truck. I have had to leave places recently planted on several occasions because I couldn't keep the disoriented fish off of my line. If I see a big school of fish that are the same size cramped together in a small area I am out of there!

Thanks as always for giving it your all! Hey, you tried and sometimes things just don't work the way they should. Thanks for the adventure and of course, the adventure and better luck with Patreon tomorrow. You know, it occurred to me this week when I watched a killer storm chase with Reed Timmer that you and Reed share the same passion and excitement for what you do. ...well, when I say passion, I mean you two are microphone optional for your vlogs :). In any case, I enjoy your adventures. Thanks again. Until next time.

I was just on "single day of fishing" mode so I wanted to find something that looked better even though I failed in the end. I plan to head up that way and fish multiple times once it cools down in the Fall. I'll get back there and give it a go. I went to Antelope Lake to fished for my Patreon on the way home and got a couple of real nice rainbows so I salvaged the trip with some fat meals of nice pink meat reservoir trout.

Right below that bridge is where i caught over 30 largemouth smallmouth and crappie 3 days ago. You're 7 minutes from my house. Go to baum lake or the powerhouse theres 4-8 lb trout. You are 6 minutes away from the golden grounds. Britton lake has a bad algae bloom its been rekt. Go to baum lake if you hike to the back of the damn there are 8-10 lb trout behind baum and nobody fishes it.

@@wildernesswithamani1027 Manzanita Lake is also really fun. You kinda need an (un-powered) watercraft though.. kayak, float tube, small raft with oars. yea the Pit is definitely good fishing. However, the banks are extremely brushy so you need waders and a wading stick (or wet-wade when its hot). The bottom is all basketball to large beachball sized boulders that are slicker than snot. Its been called one of the toughest wading rivers in the US... expect a swim or 2!

Most of my fishing videos are over 10 minutes long. More commercials on monetized videos come with videos being over 8 minutes in addition to the benefit you speak of. This wasn't a fishing video, this was a failure video! I try to keep these as brief as possible for the viewer's sake!
