Is your wedding dress going to be multi layered? It looks so pretty 😊
@moiragarner1253 Yes! It's going to be the main wedding dress in white and the mohair skirt that's going to be removable! Thank you❤️
I don't think that you need to frog the test project completely. Could you rip it back to the front then shorten the straps and rework the back. That would fit those issues. You could then work the back and adjust the body as you knit for a tighter fit. The front and shortened straps would be fine as knitted.
True, but ripping back that far is basically frogging the whole thing since the straps are the first thing you knit😅 and the gauge is of for everything, so I think it might be better to get a fresh start
Hi Oline! Your wedding dress is going to be so incredibly beautiful (it already is) and Inlove your new strategy for working on it. What an amazing week of knitting you have had. I agree with you that the test knit camisole is beautiful and worth the time to frog. I hate having to rip out lots and lots of knitting, but every time I have done it I am so glad I did. As always you inspire me so much with your incredible talent and generous, loving spirit. ❤️
Hi! Thank you! I can't wait to see it grow more and more into a full wedding dress! I'm so motivated now that I've seen it as an actual dress❤️ Ripping back is always worth it, but it sucks in the moment! But I can't wait to have it in my warderobe as it's intended!! Thank you so much🥹🥰 Have a great week!
loved your video, your dog is so cute coming up and wanting snuggles, I held my breath as your son was climbing the steps on the tractor lol. he is growing up so fast, love your sweater, I made a similar sweater and enjoyed how fast it knit up. i am with you on being a sweater knitter by heart. looking forward to more of your videos, thank you !
Thank you! The dog loves it when we sit on the ground so she can come to us easier! Having an active toddler means holding my breath all the time😅 I love watching him grow and figuring things out on his own! Chunky quick knits are nice to do once in a while! Can't wait to get back into sweater knitting!! Have a great week!
Hei! Love watching your vlogs! Your knitting speed is amazing! And since you got interchangeable needle set, you could fasten your wedding dress main parts knitting with a small lifehack - Main needle is the needed size, but the left hands needle (from where stiches are sliding in work) just 1-2 needle sizes less, soo stiches will very easily and freely slide off the needle. Have a perfect knitting week ahead! :)
Hei! Thank you! That's a great tip! I've just started doing that for the mohair skirt, and it's such a game changer!!! I always struggle when knitting on larger needles having to pull on the stitches, but now I don't have that problem anymore! Ots so much faster, but my pain with knitting on large needles is also so much less! Have a great week!
If you want to practise embroidery on knitted sample I would suggest to plan using the sample as a pillow or purse/handbag later. Enormous job with your wedding dress!!! It will be worth your effort!!
Oooo, I really like that idea! Thank you! I can't wait to see the dress grow and turn more and more into a proper wedding dress🥹❤️
Not me looking up at the pile of knits that need just a little bit of finishing 😂 you're so not alone in this, but it is nice that you have set a goal for yourself to do better with that! About your wedding dress, you could also knit the sam amount of meters, like if you knit 1 ball of 175 meters, you need to knit 175 meters of yarn on your wedding dress. I love seeing all the progress by the way! Can you show the inspiration for the bottom of the dress on your next episode? I didn't get what you were trying to explain 😅
It's such a struggle to do that last bit of finishing😅 I hope it'll get easier as I go! I really like the idea of matching the meters of my regular knits and my wedding dress, but I think I'd need a spreadsheet to keep track of it😅😂 I'll try to find a picture of what I'm imagining in my head!
For the top of the dress you could also sew in some "kantbånd" on the inside lengthwise to take most of the weight of the skirt, having it go all the way over the straps and down to the waist? That would also not take to much time if it gets a bit too heavy!
That's smart! I'll save this idea if the dress gets too heavy! Thank you❤️
I love that jumper so much. I have made the Sunday Sweater, however yours looks so much nicer! Can you tell me what mohair you used with the Drops Air (I can't quite make it out)? I'd like to make myself one!
I used Dale garn Kid silk Erle🥰 I think it's a Norwegian yarn😅 It made such a nice fabric held with drops air!
@@norwegianknitter Thank you! I’ll take a look
Your wedding dress is really looking good and progressing nicely. If you plan to do embroidery, perharps you can also add small white pearl beads in the middle of each flower....., Just a thought.......
Thank you❤️ I think I want to add some pearl beads to the dress! I just have to figure out how the embroidery and pearl should work together!
Your wedding dress is INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL and is a dream realized, it amazes me that you are not just knitting it but that you have designed it (and are designing it). Do you feel like it matches your vision? I can't imagine it any other way. What an heirloom!
Thank you so much!! I'm a bit amazed that I've been able to design this, too. It is a bit different than my vision of it going into the project, but I like this version a lot more!! I can't wait to see it take more shape!
The wedding dress is coming along so beautifully!
Thank you! It's making me so happy!!
Hi Oline. Your wedding dress develops lovely. It is great to see it grow more and more to your fit and likes. As for the sleeves you could also consider a little bolero or shrug with the two lace yarns. I really love the test knit top, too bad it is too lose, from the viewer's point it looks quite perfect. I hope you find the motivation to alter and then enjoy it more. It will be fun to see what you gift knit for you son, I really like your box with ready to start projects for him. And maybe a cute little plushie? 😊 have a great week.
Oh my, I don’t know where to begin. You definitely had a productive week. Nice to get some extra time in. I love that you see the benefit in finishing something totally instead of adding to to the basket for later. It’s never fun to go back to and so much more satisfying to finish right away so it’s actually ‘finished’. You did incredible this week. So much progress on your wedding dress. That’s amazing and good to get the inspiration back. The blue sweater is stunning and very thoughtful to make for your friend. Planning ahead is a great thing before things get busy and I love the idea of making matching ones for her little ones. Your lacy top is gorgeous. It dosen’t even look knit, it’s so perfect. I’m sorry it isn’t fitting perfectly but at least you know what needs fixed and it will go faster the second time around and you will be much happier with the fit. It’s stunning. What else, oh yes, the little Anker sweater for your son. The color is perfect. I really love that and he will be so happy to have a new sweater. I agree 100% sometimes you have to slow it down a bit and enjoy the process and finishing more. I log everything into Ravelry as I’m working on it. It becomes second nature and very quick once you get used to it. As for embroidery for your dress. I’ve never done much with that but I do agree with another poster that waste canvas might be an option. I use that to cross stitch on garments and then when finished you pull out each individual thread and are just left with the embroidery or cross stitches. Not sure the yarn would fit through the holes. There has to be so much online for learning to embroider though. You would definitely want to practice for sure and I wish you lots of luck. I have a feeling you will conquer it easily and you will have another fun craft to play around with. Another incredible podcast.
Hi!! Thank you! I had so much fun this week deep diving into my knitting. Having a week where I get to spend so much time knitting, thinking about knitting and planning knits is great once in a while. It's much easier to see clearly where I want my priorities to be after a week like this! Can't wait to see the wedding dress progress more and more and figure out what I want to do with it going forward!! I think weaving in all the ends for the projects I have in my "basked of shame" and staring fresh will be such a relief! I do log all my projects into knit¬e, and I love doing that and having it all digitally! But there is something with doing it my hand and taking those moments to slow down that I really like and have been missing this year. I'll ask my grandma and sister about the embroidery, I'm sure they'll have some ideas and tips! Thank you so much! Have a great week❤️
Well if you run out of a wedding dress to knit you can always go for a gorgeous super big lacy shawl. It is a huge wedding tradition after all. In Shetland they used to knit shawls out of cobweb yarn and prided themselves that such a shawl could be squeezed through a wedding ring...
That's a good idea! I really like the look of those shawls, but I've also been considering the Augustins No30 for a shawl. And I want to knit a cardigan for my son for the wedding, and one for my sister😅 And probably a few December Bows. So I have more than enough left to knit!
Your wedding dress is looking so lovely!!❤
Thank you!!🥹🥰
Your wedding dress looks like something Cinderella would wear: it’s lovely! Have you considered continuing the fairy tale with short, puffy sleeves in your blue skirt yarn? I think it would frame your embroidery. I’m enjoying your podcasts.
Thank you so much!! I think I'm going to do puffy sleeves in the same yarn as the skirt, but I'm probably going to go long sleeves as it's super cold here when we are getting married and I don't want to freeze😅🥰
What yarn is the sofie shawl❤
It's Sandnes Garn Alpakka Ull🥰
Your wedding dress looks so magical!!!✨✨🫶
Thank you so much💙 It's really starting to feel like a wedding dress!
The wedding dress is gorgeous!!!! Beautiful! What is your sweater and the purple top (a test knit?) Thank you~ All the best, Kimberly
Thank you so much!!! I'm wearing the Agnete Cardigan and the Eikeblad Topp (testknit - not released yet) in the video🥰 Have a great week!
@@norwegianknitter thank you so much! Love it all!
Also Brazilian Embroidery has gorgeous flowers ...it is not overly hard
Thank you! I'll check it out🥰
Try using Waste Canvas in your sample of Embroidery..it holds your fabric firm and you just pull it out after you have finish your stitching
Thank you for this tip! I'm writing it down!
I've used it to Embroider on Blue Jeans....some kinds dissolve in water
Yes, I think I've heard of that! Thank you!
I’m currently working on the adult sized anker sweater
Do you like it? I haven't made the adult size sweater before, but I really want to make one!
So,beautiful ❤
Thank you💙
Please use the extra yarn to make yourself a sweater instead of her sons. The two of you can be twinning the next time that you visit her during the winter! Also, please work on your wedding dress more, so that all of the memories about the dress can be happy ones instead of stressed ones!
Looks fantastic on you ❤🔥
Thank you🥹🧡
I’m still struggling with the cardigan I started in January 😢 wish I were smarter reading patterns. 😅 I love watching you speed through your knits. I can only dream 💙🧶💫
Beautiful sweater! You need to make one for yourself now😊
Thank you💙 I really want one myself!
What a great colour! I love holding yarns together that are just slightly different colours. Gives so much depth without being an obvious marl!
Yes! I love doing that! Especially when one of the yarns is mohair! It's so fun to play around with color combinations💙
The sweater you are wearing is more attractive than this wide horizontal striped one which adds 20 lbs to your look
I really like the sweater with horizontal stripes! It's warm, cozy, and in colors I love! It makes me feel good when wearing it🥰
Ladies horizontal strips make look thick and short so keep fashion rules in mind be for making a horizontal stripped sweater. If you are tall and thin have at it.
@apippin774 That might be true. But what matters most is knitting whatever makes you feel good! Feeling good = looking good🥰 Make what you love
I love your sitting spot under the beech tree, Oline! The sweater looks so cozy and soft, your friend will like it for sure. I also grabbed a hibernating winter wip as the temperature fell a bit to compensate the lacking warmth over the last few days 😅 How do you like your new needles now that you had them for a while? Thanks for sharing and happy knitting.
Thank you! I love being able to sit outside and knit in the summer🌳 Warm WIPs are great to have when the weather gets cooler! I LOVE my interchangeable needles! I use them every chance I get, and they are the best needles I've ever used❤️
That sweater is SO gorgeous and looks beautiful on you. Your friend is so lucky! Do you have enough yarn left to make a matching sweater for yourself? I am glad that you continue to make time for the wedding dress and will look forward to seeing how that is coming along too ❤️
Thank you❤️ I might have enough to make myself one, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to use it to make matching sweaters for her kids🥰 Maybe I'll have shrunk my stash enough my fall to get yarn for one myself😅 Can't wait to get far enough on my wedding dress to try it on!
It‘s soooo lovely on you Oline. 💙 The colour, the fit and the arm length- everything would be perfect for you. Sadly it’s not for yourself. Maybe you can make one for yourself with the leftover yarn and find another yarn for the two kids sweaters?
I love the idea of matching knits for my friend and her kids💙 But I might get more yarn later so I can make myself one too😅🙈
@@norwegianknitter you should definitely make one for yourself with this yarn. It suits you so well. Maybe you could make another blue colour for the two kids? One a little bit brighter blue and the other one even brighter. I mean the smallest is the brightest. So they match, but the bigger the darker. I like that idea. Hope you understand. 😅
I think I'll make them exact matches and rather get more yarn for myself at a later date😅 I do love this sweater, but I love matches more and giving my friends and their kids knits they can wear together🥹❤️
Fast and knitter 🤣🤣!!! Lovely vlog with outdoors background and beautiful result 💙💙💙
Thank you so much!
I love the look of your sweater- you’ve inspired me to pick my Salerno cardigan back up. I was stuck on sleeve island but it’s so chunky it won’t take long to finish. Thanks for prompting me to finish my WIP. Your projects are always fantastic and I love watching your content. Have a great week!
Yay! Good luck finishing your WIP🥰 Thank you❤️ Have a great week!
The color that resulted from the two shades came out really gorgeous. Sweater looks sooo cozy, makes me really want summer to go away right now haha
I'm so happy with how the shades came together!! The sweater is so cozy, and I really look forward to Fall and more sweater knitting, but summer can come back for a little while more🥲
I love this video. Your videos help me stay inspired with my knitting.
Thank you! I'm so happy it helps you stay inspired!!!
Ja, nå skjønner jeg hvorfor vi ikke har hørt fra døkk på et par dager... 😅
🙈🤪
Drops Air & Kidsilk make THE BEST fabric ever for the Levitate Wrap! 😍😍 Highly recommend 🙏🏼 Greetings from Finland!
Ooo! That sounds really nice🥰
I've just knitted my granddaughter a jumper in drops air peacock. It's beautiful to work with and looks amazing. Xx
Such a lovely color! Your granddaughter is lucky💙
It's interesting that you like working with Air, as I have made a few different things but actually didn't much enjoy working with it, although I do like the result! I might enjoy it more combined with kidsilk mohair like Oline did...
I like working with it more than the results most of the time😅 Without mohair Air usually loses its fluffyness for me😅 But I love pairing it with mohair!
Wow, 3 days is crazy fast! Now go and work on your wedding dress for a bit 😜😜😜
That's the plan😅 I'm way behind on my new strategy of on skein on the wedding dress per skein used on another project😅😅
That's fun - I also chose to start a chunky cardigan this week, the Novice Cardigan in Drops Alaska held with Drops Kidsilk Mohair and I got gauge on 6 mm needles, it's going well... but maybe not quite as fast as you (I have so many other things on the needles LOL!)...!! I was going to do the Sunday Cardigan but the neckline was too chunky for my liking. I did make the Sunday tee a few years ago in silk-seacell that is a nice, light summer sweater.
How fun! The Novice Cardigan is great! I haven't really had anything else on my needles this week (except the wedding dress😅) I also have the Sunday Tee! Mine is in Flora haha, but it works well all year🥰
Do you already have experiences about the alaska yarn and if its scratchy? :)
@@user-uh6jo2kc7q Alaska is non-superwash but I find it very smooth and not itchy on my skin, not like a rustic wool. I made a cable sweater with it last year that I can wear on my skin, no problem. This one is extra soft combined with the kidsilk mohair; however, I know some people find the mohair itchy. But overall, highly recommended!
@@norwegianknitter Flora would be lovely, it's one of my favourite Drops yarns, just the alpaca makes it slightly itchy for me, not bad but it's there! But then I do like finer yarns more, on the whole.
What about drops Daisy? Never touched a garment of it but I touched a ball of wool and it was very soft. I’ve also very sensitive skin and unfortunately a lanolin allergy. But with a shirt underneath it’s okay. Mohair is unfortunately also scratchy for me, but I love the look of it.
My best tips to weave in ends: ask your grandmother nicely ❤
❤️
The dress look incredible, that color on you is sooo good. The dress looks like it could be so versatile too. You could wear it just casually, and then you could fancy it up with like a belt at the waist or something. I love it so much! I think the camisole issue you're having will be fine with blocking and wear (as some other people have said in the comments too), but ultimately I think you will need to block it and see how you feel from there to really make a decision 😣 I admire your productivity, Oline haha. It's been so hot here that I have barely picked up my needles (it's been consistently 40C here :c). I did, however, do some knitting while I watched this video, so thank you for the motivation <3 I'm going to also try setting some goals for myself because I need to finish my mom's shawl for her birthday on August 2nd!!
Thank you so much!!! It's really versatile! Both for casual/fancy and for warm/cold! I love it so so so much🧡 I really need to block the Camisole! 40°C is CRAZY, I wouldn't survive😅 I struggle to be productive if it's above 25°C haha. I'm really impressed you've done anything at all! Good luck with your mom's shawl!!
The color of the blouse no. 1 dress suits you SO well! I also think missing those arm and bust increases worked in your favor? I think the armhole on the blouse no 1. looks so deep, so maybe I will also skip a few increases haha
Thank you! I definitely think missing the increases worked in my favor! Both for the body shape and the armhole depth, but I do have pretty big arms, so it's just a bit tight in the sleeves😅
Hi! Great podcast ❤ TIPS! reg. Weddingdress. Bribe yourself😉Set rule, that you have to knit on it for half an hour every day FIRST, before knitting on anything else (set alarm on phone), then as a reward after, you can knit on what ever you like for the rest of the day without feeling bad 🎉 Works great on all projects that are boring, either they get done sooner or later, or they stop being boring 🤣
Hi! Thank you❤️ That's a great tip! Especially to set an alarm! That'll make sure I remember each day😅 I'm going to try that!
Your dress is beautiful. Good job on it. I love the color as well.👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thank you!!! Such a pretty color🧡
Do not frog your test knit!! It will relax when it's blocked and worn. Regarding scrappy projects, why not make a couple of Christmas ornaments. The little sweaters you made this past Christmas were so cute! December bows would be cute on a tree too. I think it's good to put yourself on a schedule for the wedding dress. That way you won't have to stress out at the last minute. Are you going to make a December bow with the white and the blue mohair for your wedding!! Hope you have a great week ❤
I hope so! Christmas gifts is a great idea! Thank you! I should probably start soon too if I want enough by Christmas time😅 I really want a couple december bows on the tree this year! I think I'm going to make matching December Bows for all the girls/women in the wedding party💙 Have a great week!
for your test knit, I think the front cast on being a little looser will be just fine once blocked and you are wearing it. I hope you have enough yarn to make it a decent length. I'd love to see an update on your wedding dress, so maybe that will help you to work on it more!
I'll just have to wait until it's blocked and make my mind up then😅 fingers crossed I have enough yarn🤞🏻 I really want to see the wedding dress with a bit of progress too! Hopefully, this week will give me loads of knitting time
