I didn’t knit my wedding dress, but I did sew it. The best advice I got was to start with my undergarments and then build the dress from there. It makes a big difference on how it will fit. It’s going to be beautiful!

Thank you for the tip!! I'm going in blind so I love getting tips and tricks❤️ And it's so cool that you sew your own wedding dress! I really want to learn to sew, too, but it's a bit overwhelming😅

My husband is the same way...(like with your melange sweater) when he's showing interest in my knitting he seems to think it will be nice if he notices the small details aka all my mistakes lol but he doesn't know they're mistakes usually he just asks "oh what's that? that's interesting" and I'm like uh don't look at that

I had a similar issue using two colors for the marbled effect and so I tried winding them together into a cake and it solved the problem for me and it was black and white yarns, enjoy your holiday!

OMG, the red Ingrid is going to be amazing! One day I'll knit one too but I am really scared of the charts. Mostly the flat part as my brain can't get used to knitting the wrong side from left to right 🙄 I have cast on the new Small Fry scarf and I am proud to say that I haven't messed up so far (it's very easy 😂). I made a small swatch for the Storm and it had like 5 mistakes... I postponed it to next winter 😁 I think the melange is going to be totally fine once you wear it.

It's turning out even better than I had dared hope for!! I'm in love with the Ingrid! The charts scared me a bit too, and I've already made a few mistakes due to not reading it closely enough😅 but it's really fun once you get into it! I also want to knit the Storm Sweater, but there is only so much time in a year, but hopefully, next winter🤞🏻

Happy Easter Oline! Your Marius Sweater looks great, its very lovely combination of colors. I had ignored melange effect for the long time, but now in love with it, and personally think color differential is quite nice if there is no stable color strips in between

Thank you!! I do love my Marius and the colors, and it's nice to have a piece of my knitting from before! But I do like darker colors now, so I'd like to have one with just a bit darker colors🙈 I also ignored the Melange sweater for so long, I honestly didn't even like the look of it when it first released. But it really grew on me, and now I love the pattern!

Thank you for this lovely episode and happy Easter to you and your family. I am excited to see any of your current projects progress. I do love Peer Gynt as well, I used the nature tweed colorway last year and it gets softer and cosier with every wear. While knitting it was a bit stiff but never scratchy. Some say it also depends on the color, the darker the more aggressive the dye had to be and the fibre is more strained. I think this may be true. Anyway, the Ingrid will be gorgeous 🎉 Keep up the good work and happy knitting.

Happy Easter!! Thank you❤️ I was really worried the first time I knit with Peer Gynt because the wool fibers would prick me through my pants when I knit. But it got loads better once I washed it, and as you said, it just gets softer and softer! I haven't had any issues with knitting peer gynt this time, so it might have been just that color of just that batch that was particularly itchy😅 Happy knitting🥰

I'm knitting the Sonja Sweater but in melange, super similar colors as yours, and I'm having the opposite problem--the top of my sweater has the bigger chunks of color and the part that I'm knitting in the round is more even. I have to say I like the patches of white better than the more even look! I'm trying to create them on purpose now and it's taking forever. I'm in love with your sweater

  • @norwegianknitter

Oh, that's so interesting! Maybe it depends on what type of knitter you are? Like english knitting Vs continental? I love how diffrent our preferences can be, and that knitting makes it possible to tailor to our wants and needs! BTW, what do you think about the Sonja Sweater? I've been eyeing it for some time, but I can't make up my mind🥰

@@norwegianknitter I knit continental but I think you do too, I think for me maybe it's that my white strand is thinner than the blue one so maybe that's why it goes to the back? No clue lol but yes love how easy it is to customize things! I'm liking it but I've heard that they're both very similar patterns just slightly different gauge and positive ease, looking at yours I'm thinking maybe I should have done the melange instead haha

  • @norwegianknitter

Yes, I knit continental too. The thickness difference affecting it is a good theory! Thanks for letting me know they're so similar! Then I'll just see how much use I get out of the Melange and if I ever think to myself that it would be nice if it was thicker🥰

Happy Easter Oline! Such fun to see you film from your parents’ cabin and it sounds like it is a very special place for you. Having no electricity sounds challenging, but I am impressed that you manage without it. I am glad you started the Ingrid, as it is bringing you such joy and is going to be gorgeous! So is the Melange, and I think that you are right that the different marling patterns will all blend in better when you wear the sweater, and those puckers around the neck will disappear with blocking and the weight of the sleeves. I had to laugh when you talked about how your husband acts “ interested “ sometimes, because mine does too although sometimes his comments aren’t very helpful !🤣

Happy Easter!! I'm so glad I managed to film at my parents' cabin, it's so cozy🥰 I think having an electricity detox is good ever now and then, it's more challenging that there is no water at the cabin either😅 it's a really old school cabin, but I think it's great to have places where you are forced live slower🥰 I'm so happy I started the Ingrid Sweater, I already know I'm going to love it❤️ I think the Melange will be great in the end! It's been a bit of a trust the process project, and now I'm just so eager to finish it and block it😅🙈 I appreciate that he tries to seem interested, but it's always by pointing out my mistakes😅😂

for any really big blue patches, could you add a few duplicate stitches here and there in the white yarn to break up the blue a little bit? not sure if it would be obvious that it was stitched over the top.
