little tip for the sourdough starter. I started mine in winter times as well and it didnt really work because of the cold weather. after i learned that it is so much easier to start the sourdough starter in the summertime, i tried to keep it really warm and to add a tiny bit of honey to start the fermantation process. some people recommended to keep it in the oven over night, because the temperature doesnt drop as fast in there due to insolation.. i just kept mine next to my kettle and wrapped in a towel over night. thats what made it work for me. my starter is now thriving and happy :)

Thank you so much for the tips!! I have wondered if it might have a hard time because it's pretty cold here😅 I've tried adding a tiny bit of honey and placed it in the warmest part of our house. Fingers crossed it works🤞🏻

Ooh good points! I recently started my starter around January (Netherlands, so also pretty cold) and what helped for mine is that after feeding it daily with a 1:1:1 ratio (for about two weeks), I started using these ratios: 3:1:1 5:1:2 4:1:3 I found it only somewhere, and then it suddenly really started to grow. Because it did smell hungry (nail polish remover) and like sourdough starter before, but it just wasn't growing. After those three ratios I feed it once a week (keeping it in the fridge) with either 1:2:2 or 1:4:4. Long story ... But hope this helps

It's pretty cold here year long😅 but hopefully the snow will melt before May😅😂 I think one of the reasons why knitting is so common in Norway is because wool is a must å big chunky of the year❄️

So nice to see your knitting and Easter week! I fall more and more in love with Norway as you show us how beautiful it is and how down to earth it's people are :) I love that like in my country, you will let young kids learn everyday skills and activities and that you enjoy all the things your beautiful country has. Your vlogs are like escape from consumerism and rush, you don't buy your life but live it. I hope you keep giving us glimpses of your life in Norway, it's nature and traditions :) Thank you so much!

I loved seeing the cozy cabin with the beautiful view, your son twirling around in your Ingrid sweater, and your Mom making you laugh! Plus you must really enjoying cooking because all of the food looked so delicious (sorry, I have never made sour dough). I saw a piano - do you play? Happy knitting and Happy Spring!

This was such a nice Vlog!! Loved seeing you laugh with your mom and your son is so cute! My boys are well past that cute stage unfortunately. My oldest is now a smelly teenager who eats everything he can find 🙄😂 And in just 3 years I'll have three teenage boys in the house 😱😰 I don't think red suits me very well but after watching you knit on your Ingrid and staring at the red Cardigan no.9 by MFT I have to make something red. Just saw there is a new red Peer Gynt colour 4018! I think this is the one! But it hasn't made its way over to Canadian yarn stores yet so I have to be patient. Probably a project for the fall. Always looking forward to your next video 😍

I was so happy to see a video from you pop up. I've really enjoyed this type of vlog and seeing your lovely family doing things together ❤ my easter cast on was the Filsa sweater by Courtney Walters, I'm making the 6-9 month size for my granddaughter. As for your sour dough starter whilst I haven't made any myself I watch another knitting podcaster who does - Emma Robinson of the Woolly Mammoth Fibre Co, she may have a few vlogs etc where she talks about her sour dough. Good luck and best wishes 😊

This was such a happy vlog, so thankyou! It really reminded me of the cabin (well, chalet, we are in Switzerland) my family had back in the late 70s/early 80s 😍 Such a shame my parents gave it up… you totally brought that vibe back to me and I also enjoy knitting along with you at your speed, it motivates me 😊 Great to see how well you‘re getting on with everything, you are brave to do so many projects at once! Having said that I have brought 4 projects to our holiday home for 2 wks - a biiig pair of socks for my husband (on 2.25 mm needles), a lace dress for my granddaughter on 2.75 mm needles, a DK cardigan in Daisy and just in case I finish all that 🤣 DK cotton for a lace summer top….. delusional but heyho 🫣
