Wholly unaware of these fan patches for the PC port. I may have to get a hold of it as so far I've only played psp Outrun 2 and I don't like the controls on the psp (far too small) The music swapping sounds awesome to me mostly though. Good stuff Dan.
For me, with these recent updates/hacks, the PC version is now on par (or even better) than the Teknoparrot arcade version. It is like night and day compared to the original PC release. I used the FXT mod before. I play with a pad, but hope better wheel support will be implemented in future updates of this fix. That's the only thing that's not as good as Teknoparrot/FXT.
Great relase but unfortunately wheel support is still a mess compared to TeknoParrot :( Hopefully it will be adressed soon
Wish I could buy this game.
for wheel support, is arcade version on teknoparrot still the best?
"unfortunately" yes, TeknoParrot is way ahead if you want to play on PC using a wheel
How do you add custom soundtracks to the game like live and learn 🤔 😅
This game is master awesomeness!! Any update to this gem is pure gold!! Thank you guys!!!
I added the patches, and they are awesome
That's pretty awesome! I've had a couple of people in the last week asking me what I thought of the new Outrun 2006 patches (which I was blissfully unaware of). I'll have to get on to giving these a try.
interesting to play and compare different versions, have you tried Fxt Howard patch before, what is the difference from this one and that one? Which version now of Outrun two years best to play this or Tecknoparrot version or chiro outrun 2 beta on Cbxr Emulator ? 1
In my opinion it is the PC version with these current updates. Just set the resolution to crazy high, perhaps do a few personal preferred changes in the .ini files (very easy to do) and off you go.. to me it looks just as great (or even better) as the Teknoparrot arcade version. I used FXT before but not any longer. I play with a pad and not a wheel, but hopefully better wheel support will be implemented in these updates in the future.
Started playing this on Saturday!
Does this run on steamdeck?!
What a game and even more reason to crack on the pc version and get it played. Loving the switch music choice and would be driving to some Yuzo Koshiro for sure 👍🏴
Brilliant watch and really enjoyed it. Some fun voice overs there guys 👍🤘🏴
Wish they would re release on console
I have it downloaded on PC just have to get it running!
patch is easy it just works. have fun.
I wish I could be this good at CT 😂 Great run!
That GF1 Neptune and super sega caughts my interest ! super sega console concept looks a bit weird of how they look but supporting all these old games on cartridges and CD/GD ROM disc on one console is impressive I would love to see the result
Beautiful game
Great to chat lads! We definitely need to do it again sometime!
Why even do this if not to finish it. All it is is a tease.
Wait whaattt? There was a multiplayer mode on PSP?? How have I never been aware of this!? lol
Yep, it's pretty cool, you can steal pick ups and see eachothers scores kzread.info/dash/bejne/npemzo-bccinh5s.htmlsi=AR0lzfAHywqlt5E_ - Dan
Ah okay, I thought I heard that the multi-million dollar super game or whatever was going to be based on Virtua Fighter; but that didn't make much sense to me an open world Crazy Taxi makes much more sense
Genesis for life muthafucka!!
loved this brilliant chat.
Outrun 2006 Coast 2 Coast, great level design, fun gameplay and timeless art direction, which is absolute blast every time you play it.The 15 stage run is a sensory overload.
Sega content always 🔥. Love it!!
I'm gonna call "vapor" on this: really think about the economics of the project(s) being described in this video... this is pretty much doomed to be vaporware.
I like the idea of this stuff and I have friends who would defo buy it to save space, in that way its good as more people will then be playing Sega games, but as a collector it's original hardware all day for me. I own all the aforementioned consoles (minus the SG1000) and a RetroTink4K and I'll always prefer that over modern creations. Would be really cool for Sega to licence the machines though. I've had ideas on how Sega should be selling their IPs for years now, so if you guys want to put me in touch with someone at Sega I'd be happy to work with them on this stuff lol.
Man that's absolutely incredible! My best score ever was like 12,000 a long time ago; these days I'm lucky to get like 8 or 9 thousand lol
The guy is as influential as Shigeru Miyamoto if not more. I think he gets forgotten because his innovations were mostly in the arcades which sadly shrunk in popularity and none of his i.p's have had the staying power of a Mario or Zelda
Handy for the iPhone users. I can also do this the old fashioned way as I have the game on PSP! Looks good on iPhone though. Shame the touch screen controls get in the way.
Great episode, listening to other’s experiences is always the best kind of episode, some great SEGA guys on YT who may interest you chaps, Champion 2D and Sega Zombies, legends💥
Ok but the aoundtrack MUST be incredible. The og soundtrack matched that crazy (pun intended) energy.
Wow, this looks a lot like the runs I used to do some 20 years ago, the cab choice, the customer order, the driving quirks. Then I managed to reach 40K regularly and set my personal best at 70K.
Upportable dream cast loaded with all the games might be a big hit.
3D wasn't added to Saturn as an afterthought, but that's kind of semantics. Real 3D polygonal capability was added to Saturn late in its development. Hideki Sato is on record saying that originally he did think Saturn would need to be a sprite-based machine because the console dept had no expertise in 3D game making and he couldn't just pull thay expertise from the arcade division. They were going to go with pre-rendered 'fake 3D' but when they saw Playstation's final specs they decided to add the second SH processor to push Saturn into being a polygonal 3D. This really isn't much different than "3D was added late as an afterthought" unless you're focused on the word afterthought. It was something Sato had thought a lot about, so it wasn't random, but it was also a capability that was added late. The "myth" isn't really far from the actual truth
@@chungkingexpress94 yeah, we’ve seen the Sato interview, our brothers at Sega Saturn, SHIRO! did an excellent translation video of the interview 10 months ago where Sato clears things up. Fact remains, the myth was challenged correctly and isn’t semantics. As the years pass and more and more KZreadrs come to the Saturn and their knowledge base is formed by the lies and “why Saturn failed” videos of years gone by, the myth is told as “the Saturn had a second graphics processor added at the last minute”. Which is factually incorrect. Both VDP1 and VDP2 existed in the design, they were unaltered. The second SH2 increased geometry calculations and essentially allowed more sprites to be pushed when creating the psuedo-polygons, but NO-ONE goes into that point when they say, “the Saturn had a second GPU added at the last minute”. So no, it’s not semantics. It’s ensuring history is reported factually.
@@SEGAGuys Your point about SH2 being added to push more pseudo 3D sprites is incorrect, at least as far as the Sato interview goes. With VDP1, VDP2 and SH1 they were already set to push tons of pseudo 3D sprites and had a geometry engine they liked and were nearing completion of the console's design. THEN they saw PS1's final specs and Sato added the SH-2 processor. SH-2 was not added for pseudo 3D, that was already taken care of. SH-2 was added to push the Saturn to be able to go beyond pseudo 3D and render real time polygons in a competitive way. So the idea that an additional processor was added at essentially the last minute to keep up with PS1 is essentially true. Had Sato been mulling over the idea of real time polygons in a console for a while? Yes. But they weren't going to release a console with that capability until very close to the end of the development. I've watched the Shiro Interview video multiple times to make sure I'm getting this timeline and the details correct.
It would be great if you could do a guide for crazy taxi. I'm having trouble with the drift and crazy stop.
After they went to CD media all Sonic music is bad, Sonic 1 and 2 is great, Sonic 3 is okay with some great, after that downfall. Also the same with many other SEGA soundtracks, it is like they were just better at the FM synth stuff. Well, the music may be good and high quality, but it often do not fit.. Just strangely misplaced, that is how I remember it atleast..
I was wondering what Sonic Superstars was, and it turns out it is a "2D" sidescroller, I have not heard about it, I will try it. I have always wanted a new sidescoller, and when it comes I have not heard about it!
great Crazy Taxi skills and a good run!
Dreamcast....❤
Did the Solid Snake statue from CA games ever get that restraining order? 🤣
Finally, some footage of someone who knows how to play this masterpiece. Excellent run!
What's he doing - is he drifting to get all that fare money and time? I can't believe what I'm seeing! I can't last 3 or 4 fares!
Basically you need a planned route instead of picking up passengers at random. Knowing which way to face when you drop off / pick up the next passengers is essential. Of course mastering the crazy drift is very helpful but I’d say the most essential of the skills (and the easiest to master) is the crazy boost. You can truly appreciate the wonderful design of this masterpiece when you approach it in this way.
@@tournaline3448 ok thanks this is huge help - how do you properly crazy boost? I can only get it some of the time.
Oh wow ! That is some serious skills ! Class D licence owner very impressed ! 16/9 is cool on DC.
Great gameplay you speedy Sega Guy!
I went with my mother to kay toys so I could buy a Saturn. They didn't stock it so I had to get nothing or a PlayStation. I never got a Saturn until this year.
