Suzuki's definitely underrated. He deserves a position at the top of the list of game developers ever.

Yuzuki brought in golden era of arcade gaming of the 80s and 90s. I wish he and lockheed had a say in the hardware development of the sega saturn.

G loc had a sega ages release on Switch if youve not noted that. Virtua Racing amusingly I did as the last MegaDrive challenge which I must have done a week or two after you recorded this! Fighting Vipers is also still available on PSN for the PS3. VF3 is still my fave VF all round, 1 & 2 are great but they didn't click with me like 3 does Great chat lads. Definitely needs people to realise Yu Suzuki's legacy better. Just banger after banger that pushes the envelope.

Love your guys attention to detail and love for the classic Sega. I’m the same and hanker for the days of old Sega, nothing beats it. Yu Suzuki was the GOAT in those days, although I’m not sure that Sega wanted to wash their hands of him after he was accused of some controversial business practices apparently.

The exact definition of a "genius" is someone that has done something noone else has done before. Yu Suzuki happens to be the absolute genuis of the gaming industry pushing the envelope game after game. So fortunate that I was able to live through his games throughout my lifetime. This was such a nice tribute to who Japanese people call Kami (god)

Great video that, so much info on such a great man. I agree with you about powerdrift, its one of my fav games and it doesnt get the love it should get. Also right about him not being included on that list as well, just the normal "heres who people know, lets just put them on the list" baffles my mind sometimes. Also great choice for outro music, and i think i got a good amount of shout outs at the start haha that did make me chuckle. Keep up the good work my dudes. much love.

Legend gets used too much these days, but … What a legend is Yu. Agree on a lack of recognition these days, I would say is likely down to his lack of output since Shenmue 2, had he stayed at SEGA and continued his work it would be a different story today. Damn shame how it seemed to end with him at SEGA, not sure if he was pushed or the failure of Shenmue carried too much shame, but what a guy.

@@robbyrobot3303 that would be great news and excellent publicity, but he has been out of the game for so long so I do wonder what his value would be? Fingers crossed for 6 though 🤞

@@SegaSaturnLad. I think it would be nice to bring him on even just for an advisory role. Having him there would be good for the team's morale and great for publicity as you've said. Much like Miyamoto at Nintendo. Even when he's not doing much, you can read that the new employees are thrilled to be working alongside a legend

There was a moment in Shenmue where I was waiting for the bus and the batteries for my walkman ran out. 'Should I run to the shop and get new batteries? Will I make it back in time?' It was at that moment I realized how amazing that game was , daft as it sounds..

Used to lust after that Amiga SF2 back in the day. Maybe for the best, I never managed to get a copy. Yu Suzuki games hold so much nostalgia for me - have kept a Japanese Saturn purely to play Out Run, Space Harrier & Afterburner (which I personally think are better versions than MAME)

They had G-LOC in the R360 cabinet in an arcade in Largs around about 1999ish. I hadn't long learned to drive, so me and my mate went down from Greenock on the weekends and spanked half of our Skillseeker wages on it. 😂 More than once it would jam with you hanging upside down as folk wandered past ignoring your pleas for help...

The guy is as influential as Shigeru Miyamoto if not more. I think he gets forgotten because his innovations were mostly in the arcades which sadly shrunk in popularity and none of his i.p's have had the staying power of a Mario or Zelda
