    Hello MBA Crystal Ball Thank you for this informative video. Before coming here I'm also concerned about my career path I need your guidance for the same. I'm a 22 year graduate in B.A currently I've worked as a content creator sort of project management for one year. I'm enrolled in a tier 3 B school to do my PGDM in Retail Management specialization in marketing. After my graduation i wanted to pursue MBA from abroad but due to lack of finances I had to stop that dream. As I'm going to start my PGDM journey for next two years I've been thinking and planning this notion of doing a second MBA or Masters in management after completing my PGDM and working for another 2 years min totally into the management field and then pursue my education related to my retail field like Supply chain mgmt or Project mgmt from abroad. I need some guidance that if I have stable finances after my PGDM and 2 years work at the age of around 27-28 should I go abroad for my masters in management or second mba? Need your help for that. Thank You!

    An MiM after an Indian MBA would be completely pointless. A second MBA could be worth considering, but only after you've worked for 3-4 years and got a good idea of where you want to take your career. Chances are if you've been taking the right path and decisions in those years, you may not need another degree. For now, don't let these thoughts take you away from what you're doing.

    Neel showed immense maturity, flexibility and patience throughout the engagment. Many strong MBA applicants with relatively less work experience, tend to become overconfident of their IIT / NIT / BITS degrees + high GMAT scores, and end up applying prematurely. M7 programs are way more selective than the other MBA programs. It's important to respect that status and have a roadmap that reflects your seriousness.

    Congrats on the admits! A few questions first: What's your post MBA goal? Did you apply with a score, or without it? Did you apply to higher ranked programs as well? And what does your research say about the program that's a better fit for you?

    @@MBACrystalBall Thank you for your reply. Post MBA, I want to work in HR strategy or HR consulting…I didn’t apply for higher ranked programs as cost is a factor. As per my research, Edinburgh is much reputed and has got a better ranking. I have applied without score.

  • @MBACrystalBall
    @MBACrystalBall19 күн бұрын

    The scholarship amount isn't significant enough to alter the choice. Go ahead with the one that excites you more, and seems like you're clear on that front. If you haven't already done it yet, ensure that you're aware of what it takes to get into HR strategy/consulting roles, since neither program has a particular reputation internationally as an HR feeder. But there may be many domestic companies that recruit regularly.

    You'll find freelancers in every field, not just marketing. Companies hire permanent as well as project-based/contractual freelancers depending on their requirements. Talk to a few senior who are working in companies in full-time jobs. Ask them what they like and dislike about it. You'll get a better picture on whether it's the right career option for you.

    The market value of a degree is generally directly related to how selective it is. If it's too easy to get in, then the struggle will probably start after graduating. Also, it helps to have some work experience before starting any masters since you'll have more clarity about what you want to extract from it.
