To me, stat-padding to break a record is pretty similar to stat-padding to extend a record. If you have a historic streak such as Reese's with the double-double streak imho you would want to keep that streak alive for as long as possible to try to make it unbreakable. So if you're okay with stat-padding to break the record, you should probably be okay with stat-padding to keep it going. Not trying to excuse her play by any means. That's just the way I see it.

I think Angel has supported every player on this team? Mabrey’s missed fts, Carter’s behavior, Tspoon and other players very publicly. She always talks about the W vets and gives Chicago love constantly. I still think it's early to call ROY of the for either Reese or Clark when it's not even 1/2 way through the season . I do think Clark has shown an all around game while Reese has shown that she is clearly great at rebounding . But her "streak" has now been exposed to be a fraudulent, manufactured streak.

This is something like the effect from the mid 20-teens until now, and the future, of Katelyn Tuohy, who emerged over that time as the greatest high school cross and one of the top two or three track runners of all time, and a generational talent in college. KT's appearances at weekend meets in the New York area required security after the was in 8th grade. By the way, CC and KT are both 22. Tuohy is now a pro runner with Adidas.
