Angel Reese has a plus/minus of 1.8 which ranks number one among rookies. Caitlin Clark has a plus/minus of -5.9 which ranks 6th among rookies. Reese has a player impact estimate of 13.0 which ranks first among rookies. Clark has a PIE of 11.2 which ranks 2nd. Reese has a player efficiency rating of 19.3 which is 1st among rookies. Clark has a PER of 16.1 which is 2nd. So, Reese is leading in a lot of measurements that are irrespective of their respective roles and positions. Clark is leading by far in true shooting percentage at 57.1 which is 1st among rookies (Reese’s is 47.3 which is last among rookies), but Reese has a slight edge in their actual field goal percentage (39.7 to 39.1). Of course Reese is running away with it when it comes to rebounds and Clark is doing something similar with assists, but because those are a part of their distinct roles and positions, you can’t draw a direct comparison.

That's true to an extent. But. Clark is over performing expectations in terms of playmaking, court vision and passing, rebounding, and even steals and shot blocking. She's just not scoring the ball as expected. And I don't agree that Boston, Smith and Wheeler can win games without Clark. Clark is the organizer, driver of that offense and she's accounting for, with her assists, a lot of their points. In the winning game against the Mercury Clark accounted for half of the Fever's points. As far as TOs go, nope, bad argument. The greatest players in the WNBA and NBA have led the league in turnovers. That happens when you're high usage and I can't find a coach in the WNBA that thinks they are a bad thing. Here's Theresa WEatherspoon's response to a reporter asking her about Clark's turnovers "Caitlin is outstanding with what she does. You have to be very smart defensively because she will make sure to get the ball to the right people. We always talk about her ability to score but she has great vision… She understands the game very well, and all [of her] turnovers we talk about, as she continues to grow in this game, all that will [improve],”----So this whole thing about her TOs is overblown.

Yes. I would build with a proven winner and leader who also is a devastating rebounder and a top-notch defender. Reese is doing what she was famous for in college. CC is scoring half that and is reduced to being a passer because of her limited skillset. Reese also has more upside.

Clark pulls up from the parking lot to make shots, leads the league in assists which is making her teammates better, one of the top rebounder guards. She also sets record breaking ticket sales and drives prices to go up. There is no debate. Reeses game is restricted to 5 ft of the rim. She gets blocked more than anyone I've ever seen.

She misses most of her shots in the parking lot. She needs to get closer into the elevator and make some midrange shots. She is a good Seat Filler I will give you that. lol Those turnovers Clark make gives the other team at least 12-15 points every game. The shots that Clark makes, someone always has to screen for her to make them. She can't create her own shot and her defense is horrible. You guys said she was going to be the GOAT coming into the league. Angel was supposed to not be able to transfer her skills from college. Clark OVERHYPED and REESE UNDERESTIMATED!!! You disprove your own point. Fever coach is so bad, they were losers even with 2 all-stars. Sky coach is so good, her team is doing the best they can. Doesn't matter that Sides is a vet--she is a proven bad coach from her awful 1st year. So Angel's good coach gets her best for her. @@soccergoal4090 no biggie, these two teams have a lot of good stuff happening with them...but as these two rise, who will fall...my guess is Mercury if Taurasi leaves, or maybe Conn or Storm...Conn live off defense, they do have games where they shoot horrible, Liberty, Lynx, and Aces all have solid players and great coaches...coaching is what's holding back the Fever, LA beating Aces twice this year is interesting, they won because they only had an incredible 3 turnovers for the game, and 19 more shots, they played each possession tight, kudos to LA, Wings still have issues besides a few key injuries

There's a podcast on line that views and breaks down Reese''s rebounds that shows how it maybe possible that the whole WNBA is helping Reese stack up stats. There are opponents who will not block her out; they will stand there and allow her to get rebounds and score points!

Angel Reese's rookie stats should be compared to Aaliyah Boston's rookie stats. That's a fair comparison because of the position that they play. Boston had better percentage that Reese in her rookie season. Boston 57.8% from field and 40% from 3pt. Boston had 14.6ppg and 8.6rpg. Boston's free throw percentage is also better than Reese.

Boston is also at height in her position. Reese is undersized. It’s one of the reasons she dropped in the draft.

Rebounding matters but doesn’t necessarily result in points where assists are points on the board. You wouldn’t say that Rodman grabbing 18 rebounds made him better than Jordan or Scottie but he definitely contributed to the success of the team.

Rebounds are extremely important. And why are we judging based on position. AR will never have as many assists as Clark and Clark will never have as many rebounds as AR. THEY PLAY DIFFERENT POSITIONS PEOPLE! Both are necessary to win a game but rebounds are especially so because they determine the number of possessions you team gets to maybe get those assists and score those points 🙄 please learn how bball works. Those are contested bunnies. Sometimes when she's surrounded by 3 opposing players.Only like 13% of her rebounds are from her missed shots. I know, that upsets the false narrative. Besides, she's not the only one who gets to try to grab their miss. Really, anyone can. Why aren't they?

Based solely on character on and off the court AR is absolutely garbage. Unsportsmanlike conduct all around and is NOT a great representation and example of a professional athlete within the WNBA.

Didn’t the WNBA have to put a muzzle on that dawg. But much respect to Reese she so reminds me of Rodman in rebounds and a better scorer than Rodman. Yet Clark is all around ( minus defense) better player, draws double teams to advantage her team mates.

It's only a debate because of woke culture. Angel checks two important boxes: black and female. NcNutt only adopted that standings criteria because she knew when the schedule was released, that the Fever got screwed. Media wants to anoint Angel ROTY. It is obvious. And the Sky's opponents are helping Angel. The Lynx gifted her a double-double and most teams will do the same from now on. As for rebounds, few are realizing that the reason Angel gets so many rebounds is also because Cardoso gets the gravity. Cardoso gets double-teamed in the post, so Angel is free. Ask ANY one of these so-called "real fans" who the NBA all-time double-double record holder is, and I guarantee you they can't tell you without looking it up. No one cares. Caitlin is doing quite well considering she is battling other teams, her OWN team, her OWN coach and the refs...on a nightly basis. If she had capable teammates and were treated fairly, she'd be at LEAST Top 5 in every category.

This is like LeBron claiming he is the GOAT. Why are awards even being discussed? During the 80s in the NBA, you did not hear MVP, ROTY, and any other awards being discussed during the season. You simply just watched games and enjoyed the competitiveness. That's it. Awards are not important. HOWEVER, Clark is the MVP of the league. She may not be the best player, but Clark is certainly the most valuable. Clark has made the WNBA popular. Clark's games due more viewers than the NBA Finals that took place on the same day! WNBA opponents are coming after Clark. No one is going after Reese. Clark is also a role model off the court. Reese is a mental disaster off the court. Reese is a thug. Clark is something the WNBA has never seen before! It's similar to when Pistol Pete entered the NBA.

Anyone who thinks reese is on par with cc are casuals. Reese is an inferior player. Cc is a team player, reese is out for herself. I prefer team leaders and quality of play. Cc beats reese everyday.

70% of CC's shots are 3-pointers. By that number, she doesn't even have to be that good to be in the top 5 or 6 for total in the league. Curry does it with around 33% of his shots being 3's. Currently, she's like 3rd or 4th total, but has played two more games than many other shooters. Let's keep it in perspective. Everybody gets 40 games.

People get better usually much better from rookie to second season. In the NBA 3 All Stars to one is a massacre but not here vs Angel Reese because rebounds is equal to possession of the basketball. Last time I checked you can’t score or assist without possession

Reese can’t hit a layup and gets like 3 rebounds for one basket.

Monica McNutt will say Reese any day you ask, even before the season started. You know it, and everyone else knows it.
