Her three best passes in this game were not converted. Two absolute dimes to N'lyssa Smith who didn't even get a shot up. On another note, that game was so close when Smith went 1/6 from the line. Wouldn't have changed the outcome but could have really affected the momentum of the game at the time.

@@BIBLEBOY-xu7sy She shot the ball awfully. Two games in a row. And everyone understands the deal with the turnovers. Picking on her turnovers is the low-hanging fruit. She has bad turnovers at times. In this particular game, however, she had two the entire game until the 4th quarter when the game was out of hand and she got sloppy. If you were watching, and have any idea what you were seeing, you would understand it had zero impact on the outcome of this game. I wish Caitlin's teamates could do at least two things: 1) help CC get out of the double team blitzes, just look how open opposing team's deep shooters are, like Plum last night (if the Fever players were all REAL threats to score when they get the ball that would also free up CC too) 2) convert her passes into points. If I were coaching agaist the Fever, my game plan would always be to blitz Clark, double team her as much as possible since the rest of the Fever players toss up bricks. I really only have to defend against 3 players 99% of the time: Clark, Boston, MItchell.

Sides has to be fired, she has no feel for how to coach Clark. Clark has to score 20 points a game for them to be a consistent winner. They didn't draft Clark to be a passer. And Clark herself needs to make some waves and stop be deferential to "coach". She isn't in college or high school anymore. This is upsetting because it hard to see talent destroyed by mediocre arrogance and control. The #1 thing fans can do is call for Sides to be fired - yesterday. "Sides took her fun" Can you imagine someone accusing one of the great basketball coaches of something like that? Let's say a Red Auerbach or Bobby Knight. Believe me, they did take the 'fun" out of it for some people who went on to accomplish some impressive things. Stop being so much of a CC fan and try to appreciate the game of basketball. CC is going to have a phenomenal career, baring anything unforseen. She's the real deal, but she has areas of her game that must be developed - driving to the basket, mid-range shooting and defense. All three are pretty non existent in her game at this point. There isn't one game so far where you can point to any of these as having been a strong aspect of her play. She's phenomenal at passing and rebounding, but that's it.

The new hire never showed up. I wouldn’t say Smith was the reason they lost, but it was one of the big reasons they lost. Clark 2 for 7 for three, but two of those were just as good as a pass. I was at the game, close to courtside, among some very nice Indiana/Clark/Martin fans. Credit to the Aces for containing Clark on the perimeter, preventing her from getting clear looks for possible 3s. Plum had an awesome night with 34 points, but an unsung hero, who is not in there to score, was Kiah Stokes, who had a ton of blocks and rebounds. Lisa Bluder attended and there was a great vibe in the building, the first time ever that more than 20,000 fans attended any game or event, including hockey, in T-Mobile Arena. At one point the Fever missed 5 straight foul shots.

Wows with passes... I see you're easily impressed. Just which one of those passes to you feel will be in the "CC's greatest passes," video? The pick and roll you showed worked as it should, but was nothing special and certainly not spectacular. She's not in the same class as a passer as Sue Bird, who did make passes you didn't see everyday. Mitchell's been on a hot streak and so she's fed her the ball. The credit should go to Mitchell who has to make the long shot, not CC making a pass anyone can do. You keep talking like she's another Jayson Williams. You're not even in the right area code. 6 more turnovers. She was lucky. There was 3 or 4 other times the ball was tipped and the Fever got it back. She couldn't guard Plum, but we already knew that. Take a look at Natasha Cloud's stats the last 2 games: 17 assists and 4 turnovers. You're trying to find a silver lining, but the truth is the Fever got blown out by another good team. I didn't see Aja or Plum passing no torches. Do you see how much quicker she is then Clark? How much of a real 3-pt shooter that uses the entire arc she is? How she doesn't turn the ball over? The bottom line is the NCAA's highest scorer has to pass the ball to stay relevent. I don't blame her, she's doing what she has to do, but I won't put her on a pedestal for it. Your fanboy is coming out full bloom.

Clark made 15 points. That is nothing to make bad comments about. I watched all Iowa games this last season. To see her frustration when so many players on her team just miss baskets from her passes that should be easy for them! Add those missed points and you have a closer game. This night, it still might have been a win for the Aces, but up until the 3rd quarter, it was a tight game playing against 4 USA Olympians! Give Clark some credit! Also as far as turnovers, separate how many her team should have caught versus her own (which is up there too) but unfair to put those numbers together!
