There are sooooooooooo many Iowans in Phoenix AZ ... I used to be one of them ... The Hawkeyes literally packed half of the entire football stadium the one year they played Arizona State University back when I lived there (the other half was ASU fans of course) ... A couple bars would specially feature Iowa Hawkeye football or basketball games and such.

All of the Fever players were chippy, played hard, and acted like they wanted to win tonight. I was terrified they were going to find a way to lose at the end but still would have been happy that they put up a fight. Side didn't destroy them with icy substitutions for once. Good win! I always think it’s not bad to have an “individual” in a team. Everyone talks about being a team player, and how it’s all about the team, etc. But, every once in a while the team just can’t get it going. The team just isn’t working (for whatever reason.) During those times, they need that high level “individual” to step up, and cook, to bring the team back into the game.

Someone needs to do a video showing how often defenders are in a shooters landing space & the refs never seem to call this despite it being one of the most dangerous move & cause of so much injury. I have seen several players do this to CC when she is shooting 3s. I know there was at least one on CC in the game against Pheonix & one on Kelsey Mitchell also (in that last shot that got Fever the lead). That is so dangerous & is how players get seriously injured. KZread channels that show game clip videos need to shine a light on this. The logo 3 for CC in the second half of this game where people say CC "flopped" was the glaring example of a defender being in the shooters landing space this game. And BTW, people love to talk about CC "flopping," but it is actually the smartest way for a player to fall to prevent injury. Studies have shown that bracing yourself in any way is much more likely to cause injuries than just letting yourself fall, so staying very limber when you fall like CC does & what people call "flopping" actually prevents injury. I know its an odd analogy, but this is why drunks tend to walk away from accidents unharmed, because they don't have the ability to react & brace, so they just flop around.

I am curious as to your thoughts about Mitchell getting a lot of bench time the last 2 games, more than usual anyways? I wonder if it is just to get Wheeler in to share ball handling or is Sides trying to get Mitchell to change her game a little and sits her when she strays from that? It seems Mitchell was doing more coming off screens or just simply spotting up and waiting for the ball in the second half instead of always trying to drive to the basket. By the way, the refs in this game were horrible towards both teams.

I mean after Fever's first 12 games I was thinking $hit there won't be any chance for Playoff's! Well Fever wasn't going to share in any of my Debbie Downer attitude once they went on their winning streak. As Robin said the Fever is sitting in 8th place to qualify for playoff's. I'm having hope if they can keep this up. Although all those early season losses might catch up to them in the end. But there's hoping CC, AB and KM can keep the ball rolling!!! It will be a tough matchup for Tuesday's game with 5th place Ace's. Fever has shown they can beat a tough team like Mercury.

The Indiana Fever record after the first 5 games: 0-5. Since then: 8-7. Last 10: 6-4. If you break it down by 5 game segments, you get: 0-5, 2-3, 3-2, 3-2.

@KenG826 The coach of PHX said the whole game plan was to guard CC. The entire team guarded her and she picked them apart with passing and assists. She beat them another way.

@@Beau_Toxx plus held Diana taurusi to 4-15 shooting - saw Angel Reese was 3-17 shooting those are all within 5 feet of the basket they only talk about rebounds when half are her missed shots they don't mention that like they want to bring up Caitlin shooting never seen defense set up to stop Angel NEVER or turnovers Angel had 5 from forward barely handling ball unless rebounds come on folks look at everything before you ever try to compare the 2 players Caitlin is the reason pushing the ball passing don't work without really good point CC is =HER 💰💰💰💯💯💯✌️✌️✌️

The Fever should be sitting at 13-7 and 3rd in the East not 8-12 and chasing the last playoff spot. Sides literally screwed the Fever up with those 5 loses that should have been wins

What about the bench players? Indiana 21; Phoenix 8. The Indiana bench won the game! Clark needs to move after passing the ball. I think she got used to having her passes turn into points where she did not have to move. The Iowa Hawkeyes were better pass catchers and making points after that great pass than Indiana. Caitlin had the luxury of having her passes turn into points. Not any more.

It made zero sense to have Clark on the bench in the last couple of minutes. It's as if Christie Sides is way too concerned with Caitlin getting all of the credit and being the only narrative of the game. It's not even necessarily about the triple double. Clark had played the entire game (every second) up until that point and was the obvious MVP and difference maker. Why not let her play the whole game? The reason, I believe, is because Sides doesn't want the narrative to be that the Fever needed Clark to play every minute in order to win. She is hyper concerned about things like that, especially as it relates to the egos of some players. Caitlin Clark played her tail off and deserved to finish out that game on the court. Instead, this will now fuel a narrative that she needs to be subbed out for defensive purposes in crucial situations. Sides made a lot of great calls today, benching Clark at the end wasn't one of them.

As long as Kelsey understands that she is Robin, not Batman (CC) they can succeed together. Need to trade Wallace and get a real back up point guard for CC and trade Wheeler for almost anybody.

Sides overuses offense defense and they almost couldn't get the ball to halfcourt after a rebound. They don't gain anything by benching Clark and it's just part of her pain-by-number coaching.

The Fever have 4 players that can score 40 a night each and 3 that can score 30 each as well. If' Sides can get her head out of her ass and actually start coaching the team like they should be coached then the Fever can literally destroy any team in the WNBA. Their defense needs more work but again I blame Sides for that issue especially after they let go of Celeste Taylor who was arguably their best defender. As for Wallace
