CC needs to learn how to play complete basketball. She was able to get away with a lot of stuff at Iowa, but it won't cover in the WNBA. Clark could take over in college, she was better than 90% of the college players. Her lack of strength and physical statue and willingness to play physical will hurt her on this level. She play no defense, and gives little effort. When CC decides to be a PG who can shoot, she will be a great player. Shooting from the logo means nothing, it looks good, that's all.

The problem is Sides' offense is DESIGNED to run CC into double teams and blitzes so she CAN'T call her own number. They need to run some sets to free her up for shots and actually pass to her when she's open. When no one can catch a pass or hit an open shot teams will continue to send 2-3 players at CC so she can't call her own number. And the rest of the team doesn't make them pay so there's very little risk. You can't just jack up shots 1 on 3. Plus, if your actually paying attention, EVERY long 3 CC misses turns into an automatic transition score for the other team because NONE of her teammates run back on defense. She knows if she misses, it's 2 for the other team, so she's forced to limit her shots. BIG PICTURE - She's being coached out of relevance.

The problem with CC putting the stamp on late is Sides plays Wheeler most quarter minutes in 4th, we all know what happens

Caitlin Clark is like a DAWG kept in crate until she is taken to games to get the crowds, but put on a leash by her coach and told by her teammates she better be an obedient dog. The brilliant thing about Coach Bluder is that she let Caitlin loose and it made her look like the best coach ever.

Kind of pathetic that CC has to come out here after every game and explain the Sh*t Show that everyone just watched. CC has her hands tied by which players are on the court. She has little impact on who wins or loses. Would be nice if Erica Wheeler and Kelsey Mitchell would be the spokespeople after the game. They and they alone are having the biggest impact. CC is 4th and 5th options.

More work by the TEAM definitely. More work by the Coach most definitely. Once they start working together on OFFENSIVE plays for Caitlin and stop obsessing over Defense.

This team is going nowhere fast because Sides is utterly incompetent, I mean seriously bad , Sides needs to go for this team to grow plus some of her favorites need to be waived, then , you’ll see a big difference , Everyone should know their part in the team , you either go through Clark or you don’t, But have some plan that the players know their part to play , A miracle is needed

At the beginning, Sides said they don't want her shooting 3's much less logo shots. They wanted long twos. Then she said she needed to pass more. Then it was she wasn't passing enough. Really frustrating. Especially when CC said she didn't get in game coaching.

Does not matter what Sides says in pressers. She completely controls CC touches by the people she has on the court. Wheeler on the court will keep CC shots below 12. EW should only replace Mitchell or CC. No more than 10 minutes a game for Wheeler. I guess Samuelson is the odd person out. Played 4 minutes. CC is getting frustrated and she needs to start throwing Sides under the bus. Force the 89 year old Herb Simon and/or the 77 year old Lin Dunn to make a change. Trade CC or find a new coach.

@@shamarjames1315 They can't split the double team because they know the other players like Wallace and Wheeler are no threat whatsoever (yeah Wheeler had a decent game yesterday but she is averaging 4 points a game in 18 mins a game). So the good teams just know they won't pay most of the time for the double team. It is the coach's fault for not putting the best players and for not creating alternative plays, they run the same thing everytime. There are no excuses for this coach. It is the worst I have ever seen.

I mostly agree, except she needs to stop trying so hard to get the ball inside all the time. If she comes down the court at any time and can launch an uncontested 3, even if a down low opponents seems open, she should really just fire away. Risk of a bad pass, fumbled handling, or missed layup/garbage shot is just too high right now.

As long as Mitchell and Wheeler and looking CC off, CC is only going to get 9 or less shots. Terrible!!!

Mitchell doesn't pass. She will force a bad shot instead of pass. Teams should just collapse 4 on her when she gets the ball. Brick or steal every time.

The entire team needs a big shake up. Wallace and Smith need less minutes, CC needs some designed plays and screens for her and Sides needs to be fired.

Caitlin always says the right thing. She does not stir the drink. I do wonder what her truthful response would be to this question. If you knew the first 19 games would be like this, would you have stayed in college? Of course next year coming out would have had similar issues. Just amazing how some people are untouchable and others are fair game. 2025 will be a big year for CC. She will have time to rest and build up her strength. Best of all a European team can throw a max contract at her. I can see a job for Conner in the same organization.

She was playing more than 38 mins out of 40 mins game..... Is that What CC wants or the coach wants to have her on the floor for decoy??? They all know she got the long basketball playing season....and Playing her MORE for what advantage??? This is NOT looking good at all.....

Again, a very frustrating game to watch. CC started out hot. The coach once again didn’t know how to keep that going. She also kept Wallace on Lloyd for far too long. It just seems like the coach is stuck both defensively and offensively on the same strategies she’s been using since the beginning and obviously without innovation the team is not going to advance. A pity. The fact that it was still a nine point game in the fourth quarter is really sad.

@@FrederickQuick-qp3qd how? Of course the players are the ones producing on the court, but as the coach, you make the decisions as far as the big picture goes. Caitlin was shooting well last night, but Kelsey and Erica looked her off at least twice that I can remember when she came wide open off a pin down. As the coach you have to point that out and make it clear that you want to take advantage of those situations and the ball needs to go back to Caitlin. After a while NaLyssa stopped playing on both ends. Why keep her in? Put Temi back in, or Katie-Lou. Kristy Wallace did a miserable job guarding Jewel Loyd. Lexie Hull should’ve stayed on her more. Obviously playing through the post didn’t work out since Nneka and Ezi shot all of that down most of the time. Then you have to adjust and change strategies. There was a 12-0 run for the Storm in the first quarter, a time out was not called. Like?!

After Caitlin unloaded on them in the 2nd quarter, Seattle came out the 2nd half with a defensive strategy against the Fever by doing 1 thing...stopping Caitlin Clark from shooting the ball. Period. And they did, limiting her to 2 shots. When your being face-guarded without the ball, being blitzed by 2-3 players constantly, and your coach make NO adjustments and keeps running the exact same offensive sets the entire game, there's not much you can do. I didn't see a single set play designed to get Caitlin a clean shot. The better the teams the Fever play the more you see this is an inexperienced team, with marginally good players at most positions, and an inexperienced coach who has little to no ability to be creative, either offensively or defensively, and adjust to what the other team is doing. You can see it in Caitlin's demeanor...it's going to be a LONG season.

Caitlyn has game...but she needs to work on a couple of things...1.Needs to move without the ball- cut o the basket-and use screens to move around 2. Needs to reduce turnovers 3. use both hands 4.get stronger increase her foot speed to improve her defence--in two years she will be MVP of the league---for a rookie she is excellent

Too many times she moves without the ball and doesn't get the pass when she's open. She was frustrated a few times when this happened last night. She did a nice floater last night. She'll work on her game in the off season especially after this disaster of a season.

Fair points. I really think those times where she goes and stands in a corner are by design. I think the Fever believe that helps open the floor for Mitchell or whoever is the other guard. She does need to work on turnovers a lot. I noticed last night, it is the routine passes that she is sometimes lazy with and they get deflected. As for foot speed, she has it as you can see her accelerate with the ball off the dribble. I think she purposefully plays defense like she does so she can help the paint defense and rebounding, hence why she averages a block per game and like 6 rebounds. They always put her on the least shooting guard for that reason, I think.

Just looking at Lloyd playing PRIOR to the Fever game.. She was shooting bricks... then she saw a couple going thru then she just went NUTS... She wants to SHOW OUT to CC ...Both the Seattle coach and Lloyd were begging their own fans to come back the next game.. Will see how the Storm playing the next opponent on their home court with the attendance number. good luck... NO ONE seems to CARE.

Jewell Lloyd...WOW! She is a great player. As for Fever, Clark received maybe 2 good screens all night. They really suck badly on screens as a team. The pick and roll does not work if AB does not set a solid screen and it does not help that CC does not force her opponent into the screen. It almost seems as though everyone except Hull and Fagbenle were looking to pass to anyone but CC last night. Fever bigs got absolutely owned last night as well. Seemed like everyone got frustrated in the first 5 min of the game and just never recovered.

I thought everyone was only here to see CC? This is the result of that narrative As far as the basketball, she struggles to her own looks. Kelsey Mitchell can get to the rack in one on one situations. CC needs a pin down or PnR to get space. Nothing really off the dribble.

Could somebody get the press or the team to buy better microphones so that folks can hear the interviews without them being garbled? As for frustration, the fans may be frustrated too. Would Lebron James worry about whether they wanted him to shoot or not shoot? Would Curry worry about taking a shot? They would just shoot the ball and that would be that. Maybe Caitlin just needs to start ramping up the shots. The fancy passing is great if it resulted in better results, but is it working?

It’s easy for the coach to say Cc need to take more shots, but the team isn’t setting plays that gets her the ball at the right place and time! Holy crap. That’s basic. I saw CC get wide open and Wheeler was 5 feet away and didn’t hit CC, instead she threw it inside into traffic for the miss.

As Robin noted, there were some strange lineup combinations . . . and yes, Smith on defense -- quite weak. And Mitchell, again, 0 assists --- the only starter without an assist, so that theme continues.

Yes I didn't watch the game but someone explain in a few key points why Fever lost? I think it's imperative that CC shoots more but it's not why they lost. Upon a quick study of the box score, 20 to 8 in turnovers and 4 to 14 steals and FTs (11-18 vs 15-17) and Boston's 5-16 FGs is bad. Not sure what kinda shots Boston was shooting but if she's missing shots outside the paint, those shots shoulda gone to CC. Other than that, team FG% and 3%, 14 OREB are all great. They needed better defense to stop Storm that just played a little better.

She needs more support by coaching and vet players. More than that, the fever need a better roster

What was people expecting from a team with first pick. Fever problem is the Fever organization, Fever coach has a plan, they trying to make the plan happen. CC fans came on board with these incredible expectations and makes everything 10 times worst. She a rookie on a bad team, all her mistakes and issues will be highlighted and it's the coach job to fix them. It's a team game, let the coach coach, Fever will be fine.

Mitchell won't screen OR pass to CC, same with Wallace. Only the 'bigs', i.e., Boston, Smith or Temi should screen for CC. THEN she can make 15 or so shots which would almost guarantee more points for the team. CC is not one person trying to make Rookie of the Year, CC is a team player intent on WINNING the game. and to think CC averaged 32 ppg her senior year at Iowa.

Robin Lundberg not sure if it's being athletic but they need at least 1 rebounder a scrapy player to do the Dirty work like Rodmen in the paint and get the ball on the D side and O Side especially on D and not give up 2nd looks all game 2. when Clark passes the ball in the paint, they need to take that shot instead of passing it back out and reset which it seems they are trying to do i guess, but the biggest issue is rebounding not being athletic because Lary Bird was not Athletic but very tough scrapy and massive back bone

Being a WNBA fan of ALL the ladies including CC and AR. We need to be honest and help new fans understand the culture of WNBA and sports period. CC is a great rookie and has an awesome future in the WNBA. much respect and thanks for bringing in all the new fans. Her defense is horrible, turnover way too much and she needs to step up in crunch time. Youre right...smith or Mitchell play no defense whatsoever and 0 assists from Mitchell is typical..... Mitchell is only concerned with her stats and is a cancer to teamwork while the coach is complicit with it...the whole team in general has no sense of teamwork because of the dumb decisions by the coach

This team don't seem to have the desire to win games and climb to the top . They don't have same mind set at Caitlyn . Caitlyn is more focus on winning games more than anything but her teammates are more focus on making sure they get some credit and getting spotlight . They're more focus on making sure that Caitlyn doesn't shine . And the coach wants to have control of Caitlyn and not let her play herself

So, if I'm being paid to play basketball, or any other job, & part of my job is to sit up in front of media...only to have CC take all the questions, guess what? I'm staying engaged & upbeat during the entire period, & if I get precisely zero questions, then I've still done my job. It ain't always about you. Y'all are professionals, not babies controlled entirely by your own envy. Woman up, please.

Caitlin needs to take more shots , she needs to think about herself since the team can win as a team .

she NEEDS to learn to dribble with her weak hand. she is so limited at her game in W. that missed layup was terrible favoring her right hand. she can't shake not even one player who was even shorter than her.

If they don't pass the ball Caitlin Clark can't make plays. In a possession CC passed to Smith but Smith couldn't make the layup and she passed it back to CC. CC made a beautiful pass to Wheeler and Wheeler shot a 3. CC can do something only if she gets the ball.

She shouldn't give the ball up she should shoot it regardless of what her coach and teammates think

The shots Caitlin took tonight were high difficulty, some would say, even stupid shots to take. You want her to take MORE incredibly difficult looks? Other teammates have easy looks and can't hit them. It's not a mamba mentality issue. Is she really supposed to play 5 on 1 like that? She's swarmed by defenders, Robin. How is she supposed to be "more aggressive" in that situation? It's still a team sport.

CC is only player defended 94 ft. Them double teamed to give up the ball

Until the Fevers fire their horrible coach, I will longer watch their games. However, I’ll continue to monitor CC’s stats. They are too dysfunctional and clearly unprepared to play serious basketball at the professional level. CC should demand a trade because she deserve better. This team is draining the life out of her

I think Caitlin has lost her spark for this team and is just getting through the season and is going to seek other options when its over....i wouldnt blame her to walk away or ask for a trade because theres too much drama on fever and in this league

If Caitlin fans don't stop blaming her teammates after every lose nobody in the league is going to want to play with her the fans praise Caitlin when the win but when the fever lose they blame her teammates players don't like that.

The fans would praise her teammates if they were praise worthy . When over half your turnovers are from missed passes , Id be a bit upset as well. It’s like a WR dropping a pass , the QBs stats pay at the end of the day.

CC will go to Europe and the attendance and viewership will dry up.

I think we have to start with coach running more plays for CC, then making sure her teammates pass her the ball more and on time during her screens. Then get it in CC head she has to take atleast 15-20 shots a game for them to win. Don’t have a problem with the rest of her game.

Well it’s sad that basketball will never go back to the clean talented game it was years ago 😢 you always see the shoulder shots and hip shots after play’s and that’s just to show I’m tough look out. That just gets old so fast 😮 fever has no glue and that has a lot on the couches.

as long as this Coach is there ,they will never be able to compete with good Teams, Coach is horrible in every aspect of basketball (offense, Defense and substitution)

She's not aggressive...

She needs to quit these press conferences for a while. Her dad needs to tell sides, she's not going to any press conferences for a few weeks. It's not productive conversation, at this point.

Well, it's not getting any easier. Starting Sunday 7 of the next 10 games are against teams that are 6th or better in the standings, including 3 against the Mercury. Assuming the Aces, Liberty, Lynx and Storm are losses they really need to at least split the remaining 6.

She might have only been able to shoot 1 - 2 more times based upon openings. We can discuss about the inability for the Fever to get her open (bad coaching) but really the problem is that Boston had a horrible offensive game, & Wallace played for 17 minutes & scored 0 (yes zero) while getting torched defensively. CC is bad at defense but she was actually there best perimeter defender this game. Temi had a pretty good game with the time she played, so hopefully she comes back in full.

Clark is an underrated defender. She aveerages 1.5 steals and 1 block and breaks up a bunch of plays …it’s a myth at this point.

Critiquing CCs game and finding holes in it isnt disrespectful. She's a rookie (all be it a extremely talented one) who was able to get away with certain things in college and cant on the pro level. They definitely need to change some personnel. Some need to be coached up and of course the more time they spend together the better the chemistry gets. Its year 1. People need to be patient.

Nobody, I mean nobody, has told the team that CC is on the floor - pass the freaking ball BACK to her when she is open. Screens? Duh, no one on the team knows about let alone sets a screen for CC - too many ball hogs playing for their own stats and grats. It all goes back to terrible coaching by the "non-coach" Sides.

The problem with the amount of shots for Caitlyn is that she can't create her own shot. If her defendres are good/bigger and she is being doubled, she needs to find her open teammates. Until she improves her ball handling skills and develops the abilty to beat people 1v1, she will have to rely on drawn up plays and screens or deep 3s. Which is where she finds herself now.

I notice when Caitlin loses everyone blames the coach and teammates…do her fans ever provide constructive criticism 😂but y’all praise Caitlin when she wins.

If Hull and Wallace each make 1 shot rather than 0, plus Boston goes just 50%, it ends more competitively at 87-89. That's not asking too much, IMO. I heard some frustration about Wheeler, but unless I'm misreading the box score, she had great accuracy: 5-8 62.5 3-4 75.0 2-2 100.0 .

They're literally playing all the defense on speedy and skilled guards they have very lil left for offense tbh with the lack of defense CC plays she should have plenty energy to move without the ball to get open and drive to the hoop when she has the ball....I've never her do a pump fake and drive

Nalyssa is worse defender I've ever seen; she jumps way to early and she turns her body where she is facing away from the opponent all the time. she got 4 points last 15 seconds of the game when folks were waiting to run clock out. It's the let me get my points, I don't care about the game mentality that she has, that is what she is.

caitlin not taking shots because she don't have the shots ... because her team is bad, cant set up screens and pick & rolls, and it looks like there's no plays set up for her and Clark has to make her own plays and taking tough shots ... hell they (team mates) can't even handle her passes half the time.
