    The color grading is such a cool feature. Does the color grading work with gameplay? (Ie, I make a 1st person perspective game, and the color grading works with the 1st person camera)?

    Sorry to hear that! Do you mean that you open the Dash Content Library and in the Megascans view, there are no assets? It is supposed to show you all the downloaded Megascans assets from UE-Bridge so if it does not, you must experience a bug :(

    Using your own assets or Megascans assets etc from the Dash Content Browser is optional! Doing it from here is probably the most convenient way, but you can of course also place whatever asset you want into the scene from the UE Content Browser and then search for and open Path Scatter, Surface Scatter, or any other tool and then assign the assets and spline/surface and get the exact same result! :)

    Would love to see that. A few points that come to mind spontaneously: include prerequisites, skills and hardware, maybe a later session to tweak scene for running results on lower hardware. Then a quick start session with an example that everyone can replicate for an awesome result, gets a wow effect "Omg I've done that". Then maybe a comparison in each section why a feature is that good and how it's painfully done without Dash manually, on side effect people would also sharpen their understanding of UE itself. In the end tips and tricks on how to combine techniques, include hints to your demo videos and round it up with spoiling an advanced course. 😅

    I have been thinking about switching to UE for a long time. As a long-term user of ForestPack at the expert level, Dash will easily overturn that decision because Dash becomes ForestPack for UE plus much more (camera, fog, color grading...). So, You could make some parallel comparisons and target FP users to show them how easy the transition would be.

    This tool looks great. I do Arh viz and usually I need to create large landscaping, For that I would like to create a system where I can put different species on a single system or location but they grow in organized pattern and grouped per species. is that possible to do with this tool? For example, a landscaping that has flowers on one side, then short bushes in the middle, and taller plants in the back close to the building.

  • @polygonflow
    @polygonflow5 күн бұрын

    Hi! We have several masks in our scatter tools so that would be possible yes! For example, you could use splines in each section of the landscape, or different landscape layers if you are using that! If you decide to try it out and need assistance, I would be happy to guide you in our Discord! :) /Daniel

  • @polygonflow
    @polygonflow7 күн бұрын

    Planning on doing just that! But here is somethings that might be the problem with displacement: 1. The surface has to be a static mesh, not a procedural mesh. You can search for Convert to static in Dash. 2. You need to turn on nanite on the mesh. You can search for enable nanite in Dash :) 3. Tesselation needs to be turned on, you can search for and enable that in Dash as well! :) I hope something helps, otherwise, please join our Discord and we can try to help there! :)

    250$ for a perpetual license. 7$ plan makes sure you can't use it commercially. 10$ a month to do everything except use custom integrations. But if you want to use custom integrations then its 89$ a month. And yes that's per person. I suggest making your own tools because all these subscriptions will start to add up. Look up custom tool chains. PS: forgot to mention they make sure to charge you 20$ instead of 10$ after the first 3 months.

    We have had that in mind when building the tools, so it works great for game dev! :) But, Dash is right now better for smaller environments or parts of bigger environments, than massive open worlds. I.e. scattering trees in a massive open world might be very heavy, depending on your PC. For each release we make we try to improve our optimization of course.
