This is very cool. It's not often that you get to sit and actually watch someone's deconstruction. Also, she just seems so much more confident and at peace this time around. Super proud of, and happy for, Eve. 🤘

Whether your religious or not you NEVER let anyone manipulate you into believing their beliefs. Always go to the source who is the messiah and his father. Read the bible on your own stay out of these churches most of them teach the scriptures from their own opinions of what they think it's meaning is or says. The mormons are wicked there is nothing good about their faith.

What Carah says about recognizing Jospeh’s behavior as the same as any other cult leader is exactly what led to my breaking point. I watched The Vow. I was already identifying hard with the members of NXIVM, in the early episodes, because they were good, well-intentioned people, just trying to do better and be better. But they were told not to listen to critics, and they were scared to question leadership, not out of fear of punishment, but fear of harming their own psyches or understanding (or spirituality). And then I learned *how* Keith Raniere coerced women into sexual submission, and I was stunned and horrified, because it was identical to D&C 132. Joseph said he was a prophet of God, and if he does it, it can’t be wrong; Raniere said he was the smartest man in the world and only he could help the women reach their full potential. Joseph said if the women didn’t obey the commandment to marry him, they would be destroyed; Raniere said if they didn’t comply, they would be committing an ethical breach, harming themselves and their families. Joseph said there was an angel with a sword threatening his life if the women didn’t obey; Raniere said their ethical breach made him physically ill.

Don Bradley and many others have wonderful insights into all of the history that these people are taking issue with. For 10 years he assumed Joseph was an opportunist for either sex, money, or power just like these interviewers do. But as he continued researching over that time he realized that Joseph acts the opposite of what an “opportunist” false leader would do far too often. And it’s more likely that Fanny Alger was closer to 18 than 16 and no one knows exactly what actions took place between the two. So we can speculate and assume the worst if we would like, but if the first argument is already trying to attack Joseph’s character based on his approaching of an “underage” girl and you can’t even get the age right, then maybe you should put a pause on your other assumptions about the situation as well. The sources for much of the information gathered against Joseph in these claims comes from Mormonism Unveiled, a book written in 1877, 40-50 years after most of these events, by a man who hated Joseph smith. Should we treat that as an unbiased source with only correct information? People will do well to acknowledge that prophets are not perfect and definitely make mistakes, and even sin. There is only one perfect person to ever walk the earth. But they would also do well not to assume the worst with limited biased information.

On my mission I told prospective converts the beauty of the restored gospel is that there is no misinterpreting what god wants his children to know because we have a living prophet. I would tell them it didn't matter whether you lived in Utah or Germany, the gospel was the same. Now that I'm 50 years old and have had several conversations with my 9 siblings and my parents over the years, I now realize even within my own family there is quite a lot of different takes on what it means to be Mormon. I can definitely say the kind of Mormonism Kwaku describes is not what I was taught in church, nor how I interpreted what is said in the Book of Mormon. My interpretation and experience being Mormon is more inline with Nuancehoe! I went to BYU in the 90s... based on what Kwaku says Provo has become quite the party place. But I've also lived in Gilbert for the past 20 years and I don't see what he describes, but again I'm an older generation and ran in different circles. I wonder how many his age would agree with his summation about Provo and Gilbert these days.

There are numerous fabricated interviews, stories, and so-called testimonies circulating to discredit Joseph Smith. These efforts are perceived as tactics by adversaries seeking to sow seeds of doubt among believers. These doubts are insidiously spread, gradually and subtly, sometimes appearing convincing enough to mislead individuals into believing unfounded falsehoods. Despite these challenges, I remain steadfast in my conviction that the Book of Mormon is true. My faith in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints does not hinge solely on Joseph Smith's character, life, or actions. Instead, I view the Book of Mormon as a sacred scripture revealed by God. I also recognize the priesthood power and authority that blesses the lives of faithful members. Moreover, I witness firsthand how the restored gospel brings hope and happiness to those who embrace it. In essence, while acknowledging the presence of detractors and their efforts to undermine foundational beliefs, my personal testimony is anchored in the spiritual truths and blessings I perceive through the Book of Mormon and the restored gospel. These experiences affirm my faith and strengthen my commitment to the principles taught within the Church.

Even if a prophet has made numerous mistakes in their personal life (assuming this to be true), they are still regarded as a prophet. The role of a prophet is seen not as being dependent on personal perfection, but rather as a conduit chosen by God to advance His work on earth. Despite human fallibility, prophets are viewed as instruments through which divine messages and guidance are conveyed to humanity. This perspective underscores the idea that the legitimacy of prophethood is rooted in divine calling and the fulfillment of God's purpose, rather than in the flawless conduct of the prophet themselves.

The manipulation is so rampant in Mormonism. It is an organization focused on the benefit of man and not the kingdom of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ brought the gospel, He didn't the world without the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ (not Mormon) when He died and left the world. Jesus wants people to follow Him alone as the only authority. Lucifer became Satan because he wanted to replace God himself. Satan wants people to be prideful and become "gods" themselves and supersede God Himself and operate out of pride and selfishness over the complete and finished work done by Jesus Christ alone. Jesus Christ and God did not need a 13yo boy to bring the gospel to the earth. Jesus already did the work Himself so no one else can take credit for themself

If someone says God told them something, then I expect it to actually be from God. They need to tell us that it is their OPINION. That is how a true man of God would do it. Also on the second anointing thing. God does not say people supposedly closer to him can sin all they want. When you are so close to God I believe you would run away from sin. You would not seek it out because you won't be judged for what you did.

Absolutely love how well you articulated your journey. I can relate to your life story in so many ways when I left the Mormon church and heard of the gospel message in a Protestant / Evangelical Christian Church and fell deeply in love with Jesus Christ and the Bible. It was not easy leaving what I was so deeply used to but I couldn't deny the Holy Spirits move in my life after hearing the message of John 3:16, Eph 2:8, the thief hung on the cross that was promised being with Christ in paradise. So many things that the Mormon church did not teach or emphasize. What saddens me is that I still have family members in the Mormon church and I so want them to know the Jesus of the Holy Bible and not the God of the Book of Mormon. How have you reconciled some of your family members still being in the Mormon faith?

So, are you perhaps looking for validation for your choices? How comfortable do you think you may be if somebody who has pretty extensive knowledge regarding psychology and how much todays society seems to embrace quantifiable mental health conditions as long as the mental health conditions don't pertain to them? If I gave a list of reasons about why it seems reasonable to assume Lil Peep suffered from untreated and undiagnosed BPD (Borderline personality disorder) with autism and possible ADHD, most people who actually have knowledge regarding trauma based personality disorders would more likely respond with words of agreement, and acknowledgement on the validity of that astute assessment based off either personal experience, extensive knowledge, or both. The only explanations for why you seem to feel the desire to deny the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and the Restored Gospel, may not be very conducive to getting you to acknowledge, recognize, and accept certain truths. But, I would like to take the chance of possibly pissing you off or you rolling your eyes and snorting in derision, because... lots of reasons. Impressions? Impulsivity? Hormones and awkward timing regarding my reaction to this antimormon agenda you seem to have? Who knows? Let's find out together. You seem to show a certain animosity or distaste for the LDS church, but your facial expressions, voice inflections, and body language say otherwise. I'm pretty good at reading microexpressions. (A skill often honed by those who have been through abusive trauma) You don't seem to agree with anything you're saying, and I'm curious to know if anyone in your family has shown symptoms or been diagnosed with BPD, NPD, or ADHD? All those conditions have heightened emotional response and emotional regulation issues . (Aspy girl with combined BPD and ADHD) I'm sorry you seem to have lost your testimony, but I'm curious about what you may have endured to cause you to lose your testimony. I have really intense rejection sensitivity dysphoria (RSD - a common byproduct of autism, ADHD, BPD, and NPD) and I also probably have oppositional defiance disorder... but even through a promiscuous past, addictions, and intense cravings for validation and acceptance...I've never gone so far as to throw away my testimony, or lose my faith. ...did you never witness miracles from priesthood blessings? What about the tribes of Native Americans whose histories coincide with the Book of Mormon? How? How can you deny the gospel so casually? I'm sorry for whatever you have been through, but um.. you may want to change your mind and come back to church because shiz is hitting the fan, and I have the distinct feeling that Christ is returning very soon. Ok love you!

Not sure how i stumbled upon this video, was looking for "Ward Radio" but this came up... If i'm understanding correctly this is an LDS couple talking about why being Gay is wrong from and LDS perspective. On the flip side i'm wondering how can you all say it is wrong. I'm a born again Christian and stand on what the Bible says very clear Rom 1, Lev 18, 1 Cor 6. But got me thinking how can an LDS say it is wrong if as Mormons will say one may received revelation at any time... Who are you or how can you say from and LDS perspective homosexuality is wrong, if and when a person might of received personal revelation from God that it is okay and the important things is love after all, right and if as they say Love is Love. How can an LDS member absolutely assert any other Mormon's personal revelation of another. And to really drive the point home, as mentioned i'm a Born Again fundamentalist Christian, the Bible clearly says and teaches it is wrong, no argument there, but more that there is so much i see as wrong in Mormon theology when compared with/to the Bible. But LDS accept so much for themselves because of personal revelation... As we read in: 2 Pet 1:20) But know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation, 21) for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.
