That's the nature of man, unfortunately. You have to examine the teachings of a church and it's dogmas and history. The Catholic church has a proven lineage back to Christ, and that is a fact. The true church was never "Lost" as these 1800's cults claimed it to be.

Catholicism is not a cult. It has been around for thousands of years, was not founded by a single man who had a vision, and is a continuation of Jewish prophesy based on Jesus Christ. Mormonism was invented by a fraud. There is a huge difference.

I have to admit I am mystified by the high profile the LDS Church has. Their membership is literally less than .01% of the world's population, yet they do have significant financial resources and use that to raise their influence. It seems they are bleeding membership, just as other Christian denominations in the US. It's rather amazing how many "ex-Mormon" sites and videos there are out there these days. I find their origin and history totally fascinating, as a perfect example of how religions originate and proliferate, but their doctrines are beyond bizarre. If this guy has converted from Mormonism to Catholicism, he has done a 180 in his philosophy.

I am one. It is the best decision I ever made if you are an honest seeker of truth - it exists. If you think it is bizarre, so some thought of Christ in the meridian of time, too - and it is Christ you are calling bizarre. Someday it will all make sense to you, but you could know now if you are humble and open minded enough to take counsel from God and not foolishly seek to counsel Him. EVERYONE can know for themself (and indeed ought to) - there are no blind followers.

The catholic church is a very regimented and hierarchical organization, so while it may not be fair to generalize about catholic adherents it is NOT unfair to criticize the church as an organization, nor even to generalize about its clergy.

The Catholic Church has a proven lineage back to Christ who promised his Apostles would never be lost (Mat 16:18-19). So my point is you are saying the church is false because of a few exceptions and you are making those exceptions the rule which is an asinine way of figuring out which religion is true. It's fallacious and lacks critical thinking. Once you start critically thinking you end up becoming Catholic inevitably. Go study the early church fathers read scriptures and context. The evidence is undeniable.
