I am a young Aussie and I will be going into my third year uni next year. To put into perspective how horrible these housing and rent conditions are for people like me, rent near my university is 1000$ a week at least and the housing cost has gotten so insane that it is literally a better option for me to move continents next year for pretty much good (I will be doing this)

There's some caveats here, namely religion. So far, very US president has been some form of Christian and it is a real value factor voters take into account, even if you do not. It's one of the reasons Romney lost to Obama, and was a big attack on JFK when he was first running

They can’t get rid of negative gearing system in Australia because it will make it from bad to worse. More poor people in debts. These people who borrow money to invest hoping for negative gears to return their money were blooming 10 years ago counted for more than 40% of Australian. Imagine 40% more people to burden the economy if government remove negative gearing, no in the way.

I live in Brisbane, bought my home in 2002 for $ 164,000, its now valued at 1 million. I have seen thousands of articles over the past 20yrs saying there will be a crash in prices.......it aint going to happen......ever......Australia is very strange and doesn't make sense on many levels, house prices is one of those levels. My wage has risen on average around $1.35 per hr each year without fail. As a registered nurse i earnt in 2023 $ 123,000......full time.

One thing to note when you talked about voting in Australia, in Australia once your registered to vote you have to vote, otherwise you'll be fined... The issue with Australia is both major party's are full of people who are heavily invested in the property market.

I'm in Denmark, and here the law states that as long as a non compete is active, after a worker leaves a job, that previous job have to pay 50% of their previous pay. This makes non competes extremely rare.
