    BNPL will sell to a debt collector, who will file a court case to collect on what they are owed, then either you make a deal with the court to pay back X amount over Y time, or you dont show up and the court issues a default judgement against you and every time you earn money from a job that uses your SSN they will take a cut to pay your creditors. You wont go to jail, you wont get assaulted, but it will make life slightly harder after a year or two of nothing happening.

    In addition to fees, the main way credit cards make money is on processing fees. If a store doesn't accept credit cards, they lose customers so they raise their prices to cover transaction fees. Landlords, on the other hand, have absolutely no incentive to do this. They will never struggle to find a renter due to not accepting credit, so there's no leverage to impose fees. As such, Wells Fargo is likely, in addition to points, paying Visa to use their network while collecting no fees on every transaction.

    Unfortunately there was a huge boom after the SU7 came out and within days theres been full suspension collaspes, panels coming loose and even falling off and even a good number of reviewers taking it to track only for the car to brick itself in sometimes less then 1 lap around a track with the highest tier of car, some cars coming off the lot with close to 60% of the advertised range after a full charge, brake failures causing many collisions among other issues like the cars locks stop working or it wont go into drive after being parked and while byd has had a better track record they are still dealing with similar issues just not as wide spread through every car like the SU7 happened to be. I really wanted to see better EVs at afforable prices and was really excited to see the cars claimed specs but in doing research from the people buying them it seems like its been pretty plagued with major design issues, quality or something else but the cars themselves are just not good cars and many of these issues came out within the first month of releasing the SU7, as a 1st gen car its not a good start but im hopeful that issues like this can get ironed out as im honestly worried for the general safety of people buying these cars, Yes Atrioc!

    Actually credit cards make money not by hoping you over spend and charge fees but they charge business a % of the transaction. Well Fargo in this case is subsidizing rent in hopes of you using your card outside of it to get that % fee from businesses. When you go into stores sometimes it’s cheaper to pay with cash, that’s why

Even Amex who has the highest processing fees would be in the red when too many users are responsible. They're essentially gambling that CC users won't pay their debts in full.

    1:24 "Want you to make purchases you can't pay for". If you are wanting a roof over your head, that is #1 priority and that will, in most cases, be the first thing people will pay for. Shit offering on their behalf if that was their thinking. Generally people don't float rent, and the ones that do (I was in that position barely making it), don't want to accrue a secondary debt on top of it. I understand the greed thinking enough to think that "hey, give a rent CC to someone who can barely afford rent and then collect on it when they have problems as it would yield far more on the books than someone defaulting a $1000 card", but hell that's messed up.

    Its a fair point to draw similarities between the worries of Japanese made cars in the past, with the kinda similiar scare of Chinese cars. But, i think there is a big difference between the Japanese business cultural, and the chinese business cultural. Like how many years have china produced stuff that get sold in the west? And what kind of reputation do they have? Sure i got some chinese products that im happy about, but still, every time i consider to buy a chinese product, then my expectation isnt that high. Like if the thing last longer than a month, im impressed. I guess the question is, im i being stereotypical about chinese products? Or is there a general valid proof for these assumptions? Well there definitely is alot of proof for these assumptions. But can the same be said about the Japanese. No, i dont think so, because they ended up proving the assumptions wrong. Sure not all Japanese products are perfect, but i belive theyre culture is a big factor in increasing the probability of Japanese products to be generally good products, which can not be said about "generally" chinese products. And to add some kvalitativ information to this topic: In Norway the goverment bought a bunch of electric busses from china, including BYD busses. And i know a person who works at a importer of these BYD busses, and the mechanics are not trilled by having to work on them, since they are horrible to work on. And an observation is that these busses need way more service on them than other busses f.ex. volvo busses (diesel). There been a lot of criticism of this as its been called "impulsive buy" of these busses in the media, since they didnt survive the winter that well. And lastly, i have personal experience with these busses, where i dont think i have ever heard so many weird noices in a vehicle before, although that mightve been some problems with only that particular buss, since ive only been on one of these busses.

  • @Ahwleung.

    @Ahwleung.

    Ай бұрын

    @@zants_ How the card is marketed is very different from the profitability metrics behind it. Robinhood Gold costs $75/year for the base subscription and gets 3% cash back, so you'd have to spend $2500 annually to make up the fee. However, the big caveat is that there is no sign up offer or sign up bonus like with other cards in this tier and the contract states they can change the 3% cashback rate any time. Robinhood is relying on the fact that you have to have money invested in Robinhood to get their subscription, and that you'll end up gambling it / enabling margin / trading which enables RH to sell your orders via Payment for Order Flow, their primary money maker. And if it's not working out (e.g. they're losing too much money on the Cashback component), they'll simply reduce the reward rate to 2.75%, then 2.5%, then 2.25% etc. until it's profitable. It's actually well designed, they start with a high interest rate to entice users and drive growth in their subscription-based service, but have access to levers to control how much spend those savvy millenials are actually putting into their card.

Credit cards company have record of your purchase history with exact date and to the exact second they are done. This information is sold to banks, insurance companies, governments, private companies and whoever is willing to pay for it. Have everyone pay their bills from their credit card in time and absolutely nothing would change for them. Neither do you see them disabling their services on places were people are finantially responsible. If this was the case the exact thing that happened to this bank would happen to credit card companies.

    Bro all of this stuff is a simple Google search away lmao. They are public companies. Chase Bank made 51 billion on interest payments from customers in 2019 - primary source of income. Interchange fees about half that. Data sale negligible compared to either of those. www.valuepenguin.com/how-do-credit-card-companies-make-money Which Tik Tok told you that credit cards don't make their money from interest??? Where are you getting these ideas?

    I make about $1000/yr cash back on my visa last 4-5 years and have never paid interest. People who never use credit cards are just hurting themselves.

    I live in Australia, Chinese cars have only started coming in real numbers in the past 3ish years, they are DOMINATING with a capital D. All that despite the fact that most Australians are notoriously hateful and sceptical of Chinese products. I own a Chinese made Tesla, my neighbours just bought a byd atto 3, the neighbours on the other side bought an mg4, all along the street you can see chery, Haval/gwm, mg, ldv, byd. The reason for this massive market penetration is Chinese cars are just better - better or price, value, features, technology, whether bitter Americans and Japanese want to admit it or not. The reason the us and other western nations are implementing such high import tariffs on Chinese EVs is they know their slow moving, bloated auto industry cannot compete, so unless they want their domestic auto manufacturers to go bust which is a big hit to the economy they have no choice. The sad thing is for the american consumer this means less energy freedom due to more dependence on oil (I don’t mean as a country, America has lots of oil, I mean for regular people), less competition, and less value. So why didn’t Australia block them? Because we have no domestic manufacturing so we have no foot to stand on, which is actually a good thing for the average Australian. Chinese EVs mean better cars at better prices and EVs as a whole mean more savings and more convenience for people.
