    Marner needs to be traded. Period. Too much money tied up in a winger who can't will himself to the net, can't carry play in the playoffs and made zero difference on the PP during the playoffs. Leaf fans need to fed up with the regular season points extravaganza and then the guaranteed struggle getting out of round 1.

    Offer Marner the same deal as Nylander. Marner can sit on the bench until he accepts it. Leafs can't afford more and if he doesn't want it, he'd walk for nothing anyway.

    It’s unfortunate that management says major changes are coming and it seems that it’s only a coaching change. Oh well. I’m hoping Berube can light a fire under the core 4’s asses, especially Marner. Not holding my breath on that one tho

    Leafs wont make it to round two again more then likely with the same 5 still back after 8 fricken seasons of failure , nothing will change until tavares and marner are gone the amount of cap space could really shape this team in ways it has not in 8+ years

    Only way I consider taking on a pricey Ross Colton is too rid ourselves of a pricey Liljegren. Otherwise no way I’d go near that willingly. Colorado would still save a million in cap space. But I have a feeling we’d jus be looking to offload him in a years time. Also I’m not sure how it’s possible to be a -8 for 2022-23 Tampa and a -8 for 2023-24 Avalanche….

    Love the vid! I’m wondering which prospects you think will crack the leafs lineup this/next season? Beside Cowan and Minten, I feel excited about Jacob Quillan and Cade Webber. I think their NCAA performances are promising and could potentially fill holes lower in the lineup for cheap in the near future.

    Does any of this actually matter? They can’t win with this core or cap structure. The Cup window effectively closed when Mitch signed his contract the last time. Constantly trading away what little depth they have. It’s not just shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic, it’s throwing a couple over board thinking it’ll keep the ship from hitting the iceberg. The old window is over. A new could open for the 2025-2026 season, only if they walk away from both JT and Mitch.

    Nonsense. The Leafs addressed their key weaknesses. Playing elite defensive teams with elite top of the league goaltending playoff contenders every year is why the team struggles to score in post season. The Leafs went with piss poor goaltending every year and that’s why they lost every series. Defense was addressed as well. The forwards are fine, good enough to get to SC final. They can also add at deadline if needed for a 3C. There’s a reason the Leafs finish near the top of the league in points every year. They are a strong team but their goaltending has been finally fixed this year.

  • @disinformationworld9378
    @disinformationworld93782 сағат бұрын

    Window is over talk is pure nonsense. You have a Center who won MVP two years ago one of the top players in the league. Marner and Nylander are top 15 players. They finished #2 in scoring in the league last year or maybe you didn’t notice that….

    Since 2023 trade deadline I took a lot of criticism for suggesting they get Domi from Chicago then Dallas because the way he was feeding Kane showed he'd be a perfect fit for Matthews then allowing Marner to stay with Tavares. It's hilarious how many of you Leaf speculators are now putting Domi on his own line as a centerman, totally disregarding what he was brought in for. McMann also showed last year he works well with Matthews. There is no free agents at the skill level or production level of Marner and Tavers so to some you're just yakking to have enough to make a longer show. Rid yourself of those two players then expect to be below Ottawa and Buffalo in the standings. Ottawa the last 2 years drooled over the talent available in free agency and look what that got them. The only way this team improves is by getting better 1.5 to 3 million dollar players.

    Id be totally down for Ross Colton. I lie even more that hes cost controlled for another 3 seasons. That could be a VERY good contract when the cap is up around 96-98M Tavares is off the books. It would look EVEN better if the leafs could swing a 3 team trade. Maybe not to retain 50% of coltons contract but perhaps something like 35% of Coltons contract. That lays it right in among Kampfs number around 2.4M. Perhaps The leafs decide to \send a guy like Kampf and Robertson +2nd to Colorado for Colton and then get a third team like Anaheim to retain 35%and send them a pick or a prospect or apick or a prospect. To me that would be an ideal scenerio that would make this team infinitely better.

    Trade all their no shows every year in the physical playoffs like Jarnkrok, Kampf and Liligram. Give Robertson, Minten,Cowan and McMann a serious chance. Tavares and Marner are going nowhere this season. I think the Leafs should try to extend Tavares if he will sign a team friendly contract to retire a Leaf.

    lets be real, David Kampf is worth every penny he makes, the NHL salary comparatively to any other league is a joke. Not to mention the disparity of salary differences from line to line, the top guys deserve what they make, but it takes away from what we consider "acceptable" for our bottom line guys.

  • @sufij

    My theory is that they knew that hakanpaa would never play again, they sign him because dallas is cut throat and had no intention of resigning him, so the leafs sign him to give him a little send off money so that hakanpaa is not financially fucked whenever the contract expires and he is not able to play in the nhl again. Although if they can make miracles happen and he plays again.. steal but unlikely…
