I don't remember the Rielly draft / Schenn trade the same way as you describe it. Schenn had a great start with the Leafs, but things had soured for him in Toronto. Expectations exceeded the player they had drafted. The Leafs handling of him was also not helpful in developing skills and managing his confidence. People were not surprised to see him traded for an elite winger in James Van Riemsdyk (#2 overall) who also had the Flyers go sour on him. Schenn's turned into a really useful defence partner and he's playing like he's really excited to get another chance with the Leafs.

Toronto in 5, the bruins would have been swept by the leafs, if they had a team that didnt choke

Yeah... I wanna know the regular season record leafs vs panthers.... I feel like we beat them twice as much as we lost to them (could be so wrong though).. this is gunna be leafs in 5 imho Edit: from a quick look ... seems like Leafs have 3 wins and panthers 1 for this entire season against one another. (4 games total) And this was prior to our additions to the Team... 👀

Ummm... although you had 3 wins out of the 4 games... three of those games went to overtime... you don't play 3 vs 3 in the playoffs... don't think you dominated the panthers, it'll comeback to bite you... ask the Bruins

@Spencer Knight fair assessment, however as mentioned. Those games were prior too adding our new additions to the team which made a 100x difference. But I agree, you can't assume something such as this cause florida could pull a 4-0 sweep. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Hoping otherwise though!

For a team who lost 17 games out of 82 only to lose 4 out of 7 it's kind of falling apart. They went from losing less than 20% of their games to lose 60%.

That does NOT mean they can Beat Panthers ! The Panthers beat the best team in the NHL this year, 4 games ! That means the Leafs should have a VERY difficult time beating them ! Do NOT count the Panthers out ! Sure I am a Leafs fan ! But NEVER count a team out untill it is over ! DML.

Knies played well but made some rookie mistakes; moves that work in college won't work in the NHL. Leafs didn't look enthusiastic at all in games 1, 5 & 6. Luck wins games too, and, this year, the Leafs had some of it ... good, not bad. If they play like this in round 2, we've got another 7 game series.

If you believe Toronto is gonna cake walk through the panthers you will be in for a rude awakening. The panthers now believe that they can beat anybody and the leafs better too if they want to get through round 2

History will repeat. The Leafs last won a Cup in 1967. Know why? A six team league meant ease of opponents. Since then has Toronto been in the Finals? (fingers drumming..) Rename them The Toronto 67's in honor of the Centennial year. They CAN NOT win unless its a 6 team league. Facts dont lie.

The talent wasn't watered down. To play on one of those 6 teams, you had to be absolutely one of the best players in the world. If you had only 6 teams now, who wouldn't be playing? And go!

Truly an idiot take. You simply don't know what will happen & neither does anyone else, that's why they actually play the games. The regular season is about being good enough to qualify for the post-season. When the playoffs begin, there is generally a total reset, which is why Tampa, Boston, Colorado, LA, Minnesota & NYR are all out. All good teams, with the defending Cup champions & the history making Bruins upset by teams considered to be of lesser talent.
