So why is Wes McCauley still officiating Leaf games? The officiating in that first game was total TRASH. yes the Leafs played bad for the first 15+ minutes, fine fair enough but what about the bogus penalties called against the Leafs? Why isn't the NHL investigating this Wes 🤡? He's a conflict of interest and hates the Leafs Coach. The Bogus calls and non calls prove it.

I'm from Tampa. I am impressed with the degree to which you dissect the game and players. Lived outside of Toronto for a bit and respect the commitment of the fan base, here in Tampa we love our Lightning as well. Wishing a great series for both cities even though one of us will end up disappointed. Cheers

Considering McCabe's hit was high too, there is too much made of Bunting's hit. Also, I feel bad for Bunting, as players and refs take liberties with him nightly, yet he isn't expected to take matters into his own hands? The modern NHL officiating is a joke. I get it, it's the playoffs and you don't want to hurt the team, but he is human and can take only so much because he's in a no win situation where he is openly targeted by players and refs. His 23 goals are not that big of a deal, because it boils down to the Leaf's big boys needing to outshine TB's big boys. Until that happens, along with tilted ice by refs, the Leafs face an uphill battle. As far as Holl, he is a complete liability, along with Reilly, and it was good in your last video to see you acknowledge it instead of spewing stats from last year about his +/- in points (beneficiary of talent he played with). Both are horrible at picking up, boxing out, and defending the front of the net. Leafs need to respond tonight in a big way!!!

Mccabes hit was clean. He got as low as possible the skater has a responsibility to not put his head down and in front of his body.

The Leafs are an elite team (regular season anyway) & so are the Lightning. Game 1 Tampa played like it & Toronto played jittery, hesitant hockey which they've done a couple of times this year. It is unlikely they come out like that again in game 2, so let's hope they play their game, instead of overthinking things & being reactive, instead of proactive. Go time.

There is no way in hell, with betting in the game that a ref, with a possible family issue involving Keefe....should be allowed to ref a leaf game, period..to me it's almost a black mark on the league

For pete's sake, Leafs were completely unprepared for game 1. Should we blame the GM, players, or better yet, coaching? How many times in the past many years have the core taken the other team by the throat and played them into submission? Hmm...okay, did they follow up the next game? What about the game after that? Big time issue here! Coaching is a major issue. Keefe was schooled and we all had to pay. Could any other coach get more from a core made up of this much talent? Well, certainly couldn't do much worse in a playoff game. Outside of penalties etc, Leafs got smoked. The rational thing to do from the entire team is spend the last minute with a bench clearing brawl. This was the time for payback if even looked at the wrong way. This sends a message! Good ole Leafs, though. See them post game? Not an angry emotion to be seen. Best we can give them is a business as usual attitude. Pfft, business as usual may work regular season, but this is playoffs. The time of year when the entire team, including coach and core, send a message. Yawn...no message sent... Tonight's game is game 7 Stanley cup playoffs. No one expects them to lose, yet issues remain.

The point goal, Brodie was in the corner on the wrong side of the ice when the leafs were on the PK.

Put Jarnkrok on the Matthew's line, take Holl out and put in Timmins. Now go out and win tonight.

Players on other teams got a series suspension - for a head shot like Bunting’s. Not playing Bunting helps the Leafs - Bunting can help Colorado win a cup maybe - so just trade him. This Leaf core is continuing to get their past playoff outcomes. If they lose tonight - that trend shows they might be starting to decline. Leafs just do not read officials adequately like Bruins & Tampa do. Maybe it is time to sell off Leaf Season & Playoff tickets and enjoy other recreations?

Wes McCauley should not be officiating any games involving Sheldon Keefe (or David Clarkson too). It's literally a conflict of interest. The NHL should never allow it to happen. In Short: Sheldon Keefe and David Clarkson, as OHLers, testified against David Frost, Wes McCauley's brother in law - and they are "very close". I normally don't give any credence to "the refs or NHL have it in for the Leafs" arguments, but in this case, Maple Leafs fans and the team may actually have a point.

The officiating makes me not want to watch the NHL anymore. How does anyone get the point across to the NHL about this absurdity without stop watching the games? I don't want to abandon the Leafs as a fan but this stuff is so absurd and frustrating. What is there to even do?

As a Leafs fan for the last 36 years, Bunting better not be in the lineup for game 5 or ever again for that matter. He is emotionally and physically irresponsible. He is a sad excuse of a athlete and human. I don't know what I'll do if they don't let him walk this summer.

Umm Bunting isn't the problem, sure he shouldn't have hit the Bolts player without the puck. That's on him, but the Refs have been unfair with him. Okay that Wes McCauley 🤡 should be banned from ever officiating Leaf games.
