This extension for Liljegren honestly shocked me. I hope he is able to step up. My expectations are low, but if he can take a step that would really solve a lot of depth issues on the back end.

Good job bud. YES, Kampf at 2.5 as a 4th line center is such a head scratcher, him and Lilegran NEED TO GO. I see Cowan being the player on the 3rd line BTW. I find it wild that not one channel even mentions it.

Kampf and Reaves is almost $4M - that’s the issue - as FA is proving right hand D like Liljegren are expensive $3 is more than I’d like but as a 25 year old RHD that’s probably market value. Now dump Kampf and Reaves and you can sign a Chandler Stephenson

Here is my Ideal roster as of signing Liljgren which I think is a bit to much.. 2.5 iMO would be more then enough for him expecially on a short term deal.. Theres not even years for the leafs to potentially win on this being a team friendly deal down the line Domi-Matthews-Marner Perron-Tavares-Nylander Knies -Nic Dowd - McMann BrandonTanev(50%retained)-Stenlund-Kiviranta Thomas Nosek as depth Reilly-Tanev McCabe-Walker Benoit-Liljgren Woll Dreidger(ASSuming he wants a proove it deal on a good team he has a chance to become a starter and he signs for around 1M. to me this gives this team everything they need to succeed it adds a ton of energy and grit , IMO completely changed the dynamic of the team.

give robertson some defensive support/playmaker and more ice time

I think that’s the plan, they need him for 82 games this year, not 20. He’s not scared to shoot which is what they need, he also plays his heart out. Keep him give him a chance.

We really need to see if Cowan is ready. If he is, the Leafs can save a lot of money. The Leafs are weak on the Left side as well, so this can help.

7 points in 5 games and the stats don't look too bad? He was benched in the playoffs because Keefe bent to the pressure of dumb fans who thought Liljegen was a defensive liability and we lost. he put him back in and he had aero goals against in the game 7 loss playing with Edmundson who likes to pinch and gave up an odd-man rush every time. Stats don't tell the story. As for Robertson, we have been down this route with Verheghe and Marchment.

Wouldn’t mind Liljegren getting another shot. Keefe didn’t fully believe in him. Which probably affected his confidence, given Keefe is the only coach liljegren has had his entire North American career. Wouldn’t mind seeing what Berube could do with him.

@@steveciancone8941 I think Liljegren with a decent partner would be very good. If he had a Zadorov or something he could be very effective. He gave Bertuzzi a waist-high tip pass at the top of the slot that he scored on but was called back. Who does that? the kid is limited by the players around him.

I hope that you are right. Get him and Kampf off the books and thats 5.5 mil right there. No 4th line center should be getting 2.5 mil per year wtf and Tim is a soft soy boy with very limited upside anywhere in his game.
