This is the most confidence I've had going into a series in the Matthews era, outside of the Montreal series. They showed that the lights aren't too bright for them last year, now it's time to win regardless of the idiots in stripes

The only reason Toronto lost in the last 2 seasons is from their own mistakes. And the interesting part is the opposing team ALWAYS capitalized on those mistakes, and got game winning goals. This year the Leafs look more mature, well balanced and a team not to be pushed around. Leafs in 4 or 5.

@@nickt6595 You're right. Galchenyuk, Dermott, Sandin all made unforgivable, sometimes horrific turnovers against Montreal, all of which led to losses or the turnover itself caused the game winning goal. Last year vs Tampa almost nothing like that, except stupid penalties leading to Tampa PPs that were costly. Hopefully this is the series where they are dialled in, lock it down when in control & finish the job like seasoned pros. Cautiously optimistic, so it's go time.

@@bigdave8437 Yes I remember last year when Headman lifted Kerfoots stick in his own face but Kerfoot got the penalty. That really annoyed me because that resulted in Tampa Bay scoring and the Leafs not answering back. This year feels different, lots of positive changes. The Leafs have talent and grit this time round 👍

@@johanstinson Last season the Leafs won 5-0 in the 1st game. How did that series play out? Maybe the Leafs need this loss as to kick them back into gear. They lost because of bad giveaways, allowing a breakaway & the referees officiating was terrible, they were wearing ⚡⚡⚡ jersey's.

Evolving Hockey. They have Goals Saved Above Expected stats there, but it's a paid-for subscription. Moneypuck also has the same stat available there for free. But both sites are slightly different because the calculations used are a little different depending on where they're getting their data from

We waited a year for the puck to drop...and the Leafs dropped a deuce right there on the ice.

I pick the leafs in 5. Were going to see Matthews, Marner, Willie and JT on LW hit another gear. McCabe and Brodie will shutdown TB enough to get the job. Acciari, Schenn, ZAR and Lafferty are the role players the leafs have lacked. They might not win every battle but TB will be licking their wounds after every game.

Luke Schenn is not the problem. Now is not the time for benefit of the doubt. Put Gustavsson in.. Sorry, I love Reilly. But, he is not cutting it for whatever reason. Why do you think they got Gustavson? Just in case. Now is the just in case time. We may be the favorite, but there is no wiggle room. Reilly out until we have a series lead at least.

First year where I'm genuinely not excited and just worried we're all going to be let down again.

as much as i want to be excited..... im very hesitant. i know there is skill, and the team looks good. But at this moment. its pure nervousness. there is less excitement that previous years.

@FrankieJayy 2013,2017,2018, and 2019 we weren't really expected to win I'm pretty sure but I genuinely thought we'd win against Columbus,Montreal and thought we'd win last year in game 6. The vibes from this series are off for me
