Lol Murray is always day to day but hopefully he is ok never like to see players suffer brain injuries

Matt Murray IS a head injury.

Thing with Woll, right now, he must feel super confident. He's having a fantastic season in the ahl and when he got the chance in the nhl, he looked great.

As long as the Defence do there job, Woll will do just fine IMO. But Blueline mistakes will cost the Leafs unnecessary goals against. Like the past 3 years, the Leafs defeated themselves in the playoffs.

the impact runs through out the whole team...Thats total honour in my books..

In a way it's good because they can't pull any mind games about starting Murray. It's Samy's net as it should be

It was always Sammy's net, with Murray as a backup or to take a couple away games off Sammy.

I am confident with Samsonov and a healthy Matt Murray if needed for this years playoffs based on Murray’s playoff experience. Next year it is pretty clear samsonov should be resigned and Woll is our number 2 with that cap hit… hope a team is willing to take on Murray like Mrazek

if not he will be bought out, woll cant be sent down next year and they wont risj losing him after grooming him since he was drafted

I'm sure if any other goalie got taken out like Mat Mury did that goalie would be injured as well especially when back of his head hit the ice pretty hard I feel bad for him

I like Woll-Mart! I hope he relaxez and slows down a little as he is fumbling on his skates in net. He has so much potential!

Matt Murray went down, and it was obviously not his fault, but at the same time its a good thing it wasn't Samsanov in net because he too would have been injured just before the playoffs. If Woll can steal at least 1 game for the Leafs, they will do just fine in the playoffs. So far in the past few years no Goaltender stole them a game or 2. Non of them did so far.

They will buy out Murray this summer

Love your analysis mate and the numbers. Murray makes absolute zero sense financially if nothing else and for the return the Leafs get even when he's healthy. Not ideal to jump in with Woll as #2 but the Leafs now just have to take a risk and see if Woll puts up a Murray like performance when he was a rookie with the Pens.

Dubas made 2 gambles while moving on from Campbell, which in retrospect was the right move. One gamble appears to have paid off & the other has not. To lose Murray on a buy-out with only one year left on his deal is just money at worst, or they can Robidas island him as chronically injured vis-à-vis Scott Stevens, Paul Kariya (courtesy of Stevens ironically) & others with chronic concussion issues. That blow to his head, while being partially protected by the back of the goalie mask, did not seem particularly violent. However, once you've had multiple concussions, it does not take a heavy blow to cause another, so maybe it's time to see a neurologist, confirm the danger of risking any further hits & hang them up for good. LTIR baby. An unlucky play with Raymond blowing a wheel, but maybe it's better than a slapshot to the mask in the playoffs producing a worse result at a critical moment.

More then comfortable having Sammy in net. He’s proven over and over again he is the guy. I’m just worried he won’t be able to carry the weight on his shoulders. New team. We can never get past the first round. Really rude and loyal fan base (sorry guys it’s true lol, I’m rude too tho) but I’m excited and nervous to see this breakdown inna few weeks

I've been saying since the all star break, buy out his contract, sever ties and give Joe Woll the opportunity. I don't understand?? He's done nothing but have success at every level they've tried him in. Forget Murray!

Woll unless Samsonov gets hurt will not see a playoff game. Which is kinda frustrating as Sammy's great but sometimes he just sucks. Will Keefe have enough confidence in Woll to put him in a Playoff game?

Why would Woll not see a playoff game? He’s better than Kallgren and is the only other option..

Leafs have 3 goalies going into the playoffs and I would put Murray at #3. Leafs need to focus on the playoffs and tweaking their games. If the Leafs can get nylander and holl to show up and play 60 minutes a game, we will do okay. Hey Willy, we haven't seen you in the last 10 games, any chance of a brief appearance in the playoffs?

I have to agree. Willy and Holl need to show up and not make mistakes which costs the Leafs goals against.

Rosey said the hit on the ice was nothing.

I am sure the Coyotes will take him lol

The Leafs might want to start rebuilding this core. Getting Matthews to sign a long term contract or trading Matters to get something before he walks - probably is the priority. Leaf GM gambled on Murray’s injury history - just maybe perhaps they haven’t lost yet.

I'd gamble on next year with matthews even if it isnt smart. He is NOT even close to replaceable.

@@jimlangdon1947 like I said I know it isnt the smart decision I just have a bad feeling that if we lose him this team is done for many years to come. Jt will be aging and we won't have any high end goal scorers.

​​​@@Gl-my8fw As long as Marner stays put the Leafs will be fine. Elite players love playing with Marner. Mathews loves Toronto and his boy Biebs would be upset if he just walked. I believe Mathews will sign with Toronto but if he doesn't he might allow for a sign and trade scenario...not to totally screw over the Leafs. Ultimately McDavid is a free agent in 2026....and he's been itching to be a Leaf. So the Leafs will not be screwed if Mathew's takes his Talents elsewhere.

I'd still waive Murray if claimed you lose the contract if not ltir regarding concussion

and the Murray saga continues , right now he's still a leaf and they need him to be ready whenever called upon so enough about next season just gotta focus on the here and now

Well it really wasn't Murray's fault that he got taken down by a Detroit player. Had Murray seen him coming, he would have better prepared himself for the fall. It was unexpected, that's not on Murray. But thank goodness that didn't happen to Sammy, or he would have been out day to day with an injury.

Murray has 1 year left on a 25 million dollar contract he signed with Ottawa, just retire your injury prone and made your money.

@@allentam5754 go back and look at his career, he has been injury prone ever since he was in Pittsburgh,injury prone his whole stay in ottawa, Leafs why i dont know took a chance on him, yes when healthy he is a good goalie, but he has been injury 3 times this year but the last was fluke, but he has a history with concusions, which i believe he has now.further more next season woll cant be sent to the marlies they would lose him on waivers so he will be the back up next year not murray. i'd put money on Samsonov resigning a multi year contract next year, Sammy & Woll are the future goalies,and i dont mind that at all since 1978 when i first started watching the Leafs that will be the 2 best goalies[ 1A & 1B ] they will have and ever have.Dont get me wrong i like Murray but he is done,nobody but a tanking team will take him on next year.

@@allentam5754 Look chicago took Mrazek's 2 year 3.8 contract on only for the leafs to move down 13 spots in the draft, he will be traded if not bought out.

This was an absolutely dumb ass trade. He has trended down for the last number of years. He looked good for a period of time earlier in the season, who knows how he woulda faved if not for the injuries. NHL version of Mr. Glass!

Joe Woĺl is the better Goalie anyway ! Mike.

Rumour has it a small breeze from a fan was directed towards Murray while they were examining him. Ugh, caused a full on concussion and broken fibula.

Hurt again I realize this time it was out of his control but it just fiqures when are the excuses going to stop go with Samsonoff and Woll let me guess Mathews or Tavaris are next so the the excuses will begin again out in round one again

Murray has pretty much been a non factor all season. Next year .... buyout Murray, sign Samsonov and Wioll at league minimum ....
