    Hey Average Guy Hifi, could you PLEASE help me out? I just purchased these RTI A3 speakers secondhand on Facebook Marketplace and the power ports had been removed. I still have them but the screws are missing. Could you please tell me which screws these take? I talked with Polk customer service and they weren’t able to help me since these speakers were discontinued. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

    Over 5 minutes of waffle before we actually get to see the thing. You spend way too much time telling folk what you're going to do.....just DO it man. That all aside, a pretty good review. I'm thinking of buying one for my Yamaha 3060 as that gets pretty hot and as far as I know it has no internal fan whereas my old Yamaha 1400 did have a fan!

    I wish I could get those Sony's for $75/Pair... They are more than double the cost here in Canada... SAD! If I could get them for $75 'Canadian' new per pair I'd get two sets... I have 2 Sony Atmos speakers attached to my ceiling in my livingroom...

    Considering that many of us will likely be buying these new and in mint condition, your very first nit about construction quality is really unfair. You should have stuck with the sound quality, given that you knew that you purchased damaged speakers.

    I’ve owned about 50 different systems, all of which were very average at best. I’m finally in a position where I can buy nicer equipment. My previous experience, with literally 1,000 different speaker pairs, over the last 20 years, most of them being used, is why I think people like my little channel. That and I use my own money to buy everything, so I try to be as honest and unbiased as possible with my subjective thoughts. If you don’t think this setup is “average” you’re definitely not going to like my next room tour video. Haha

    Very nice Review😀 Do U think this Sub can replace my much bigger Velo DD15 SUb? The Point is, i dont need high Volumes..., had my DD15 max. 30% turned up. But need the high Quality low and precise Bass in low-mid Volumes. What do U think?

  • @blazermdx
    @blazermdxАй бұрын

    No way! You already have one of the best sealed subs on the market, for its time and size. The Velodyne DD series subs were extremely accurate due to the power and the Servo technology. This little sub is just fantastic but it can’t compete with that beast of a sub you already have:)

    @@blazermdx U could be right..., iam pretty happy with this Monster. But the Specs of the HRS12 are even better than on my Dd15...the HRS12 goes down to 18Hz...., but the DD15 only down to 20hz...hats pretty strange..., So iam pretty curious the smaller HRS12 could even sound deeper......And another Point is the pretty high Power consumption of the DD15...the HRS12 needs only the half Power...ANd energy cost in Germany are momentary pretty high...(: because of our stupid Government and wrong energy Policy...So i still think the HRS12 could be a pretty good Replacement...I think i will try it...and will let U know the Results...there are some good offers here in Germany for 600-700 bucks for the HRS12. Life is beautiful and i love experiments (:

    I’m not sure that Bose is manufacturing any of their bookshelf(201, 301, 161) or floorstanding(401, 501, 601) speakers anymore. They sell the model 251 for outdoor listening and the 791 for in ceiling installations, that’s it for passive Bose speakers these days.

    I've just got a good pair on Ebay. I tried them with tweeters facing inwards,like towards each other. They sounded decent but I then moved them to "upside down" with tweeters at the bottom and they sound even better. They're around 9 feet apart,and my listening position is about 9 feet away, so it's inadvertently the "audiophile triangle" not done on purpose but that's just the best way for my ears.

    I have these. Thinking about upgrading to motion 20. What is your take on those? Are the 20s just a little more bass or are they a fuller sounding speaker I already have a sub. With my motion 10. I also use bang and olufsen and bowers and wilkins. For 7 speaker surround. 5 Martin logans and 2 bang and olefson for my rear channel. I listen all types of music. Metal rock country and classical. Would motion 20 be better than the electo static speakers for music and home theater Thanks !

  • @blazermdx

    I can’t say, as I haven’t gotten my hands on the Lores just yet. But looking at the specs, these Pendragons would have noticeably more bass and more output. But I warn you, the Pendragons are HUGE. There’s a nice pair of blue Lores available in my area used for $600. I might actually grab them if the seller is willing to negotiate a little. • @blazermdx
    @blazermdx2 ай бұрын

    Thanks for the kind words! SVS is THE most known subwoofer company on the market, so the resale value os quite high. I’m not sure what a good deal for this sub is up in Canada, I know you generally have to pay quite a bit more because of shipping/customs. If I’m trying to figure out used speakers value, I generally like to pay - 40% - 50% off MSRP, if it’s a fairly newer model. This generalization usually holds pretty true in my market. I hope that helps you out a little!

    @@blazermdx I love them. I thought I was prepared for how large they were but was still shocked once they were here. LOL Admittedly, I don't have refined ears and haven't listened to a lot of different speakers. I had Cerwin Vega SL 12's and they sounded good to me but I wanted something better with more detail. These definitely have that. The only time I ever plug in my sub is when listening to Drum and Bass music, otherwise these go plenty deep for most music.
