    Nice to have you back buddy. I picked up about 2 weeks ago the Kef R15 towers in white for $650. Not a bad price since they're still selling them currently for $700 per speaker.

    Thanks, my man! You mean KEF R5s in white? If they are R5s, you got an amazing deal. Also, KEF makes the best looking white speakers, IMO. Congrats!

    Nice room tour. I have an old Denon in my home office. But I haven't upgraded the Home Theater in over a decade, so still the Polk speakers, an old 51lb MONSTER Onkyo 7.1 powering everything and the old trusty Boston Acoustics BASH sub-300 watt 12" RMS, 900 watt peak. Room is 11.5 x 25 x 8.5 but, the last third is used as office/piano space so effective viewing and audio area, 11.5 x 17 x 8.5. Had an old 55" LG in there. Now, temporarily using a cheapo Bomaker LCD/LED 1080p projector. Fills the wall with 110-130" picture. Not the brightest or most accurate color but the movie experience is there for now unitl I move up the food chain to a 4K short throw laser projector. Don't really need the Atmos, etc. processing. In a small space do you really need or watch a lot of films where helipcopters/planes are flying overhead and land, lol. Plus my wife is already DISTURBED that there are 7.1 speakers in the room, lol! Definitely interested in your new speaker upgrade. Those LG OLEDs are very nice. But, we will probably upgrade our 55" LG to a 65" Sony XL93 Mini-Led set in the near future. We have a small fireplace sitting room about 11.5 x 12.5 x 8.5 where the fireplace is about as WIDE as a 65" 4K TV. So no brainer there! Right now the sound system in there is pretty minimal, talk about cheap audio? Two Realistic Optimus (version of the Minimus 7s) powered by a Henry Kloss 5" sub refugee from his first computer speaker system. That little sub is directly wired to the speakers and the LG TVs headphone jack acts as the pre-amp level control. Believe it or not this sounds much better than most mid-level soundbars, lol. Henry Kloss-somehow enigneered that tiny sub-box to actually almost produce a reasonable 50 hz tone? How? Who knows. And the Minimus speakers are pretty darn good for basic TV sound. Total cost? Bass module-$5 at a Goodwill, provided my own power supply for it. Realisiic speakers-new-sale $45 for the pair. Total: $50.

    Thank you, my friend! Actually, I was just watching a video of those Realistic speakers and apparently, they are great sounding little speakers. Most of the Realistic lineup was pretty bad but audio enthusiasts like modifying those little 7s. You should look up the videos. And those old Onkyo receivers were beasts. If you don’t need all of the latest audio/video technology, there’s absolutely no reason to replace it. I loved my Onkyo 818, it was the first quality receiver I ever owned. Thanks for all the support!

    Great to see you back 👍🏼. I understand you man. Is not easy creating videos and doing your hobby. I would’ve had great videos if I recorded every time I swap out gear and find amazing deals or even discover new gear but I don’t. Because I know it’s time consuming. The funny part is that I’m a video producer 😆. Anyhow, I advice you try an Arcam like the avr 10. They go for great prices in the used market and perform better than $5000 systems. I also had the new Anthem and had to return it. Too many bugs

    I can’t believe a video editor watches my “videos”. One of the other reasons I pulled back on creating videos is that I’m a bit embarrassed by the editing, or lack there of. We should team up! Haha I had a Lexicon RV-6, which is supposed to be a clone of Arcam. I definitely loved that receiver, still miss it. It’s just too hard for me to buy a receiver to review, since all of this equipment I highlight in this channel, I pay for. I think people like the concept of trying to find deals, which is why they follow along. Thanks for the support, my friend!

    you dont need a center channel. you're single, 1 seat matters. you can tune everything to 1 seat, and a phantom center will outperform a real center. With phantom center, it will be on same height as mains, and voices will come from actors mouths, not 1 ft below the center of the tv.

    Great to see another video. What stans are you using for the kefs. Do they screw into the holes on the bottom? I have the R3 Metas and I want the stands that come with them, but I would not have to spend another 700 dollars.

  • @blazermdx

    @blazermdx

    8 ай бұрын

    Thank you! The stands are Kanto sp26plw. They are great stands but if I were to do it again, I’d go with the Kanto SX26W instead, due to the weight of the R3. The SP25PLW hold them just fine but they are the upper end of the weight limit and I prefer overkill. And to answer your question, these stands come with a mounting hole but I’m not sure if it lines up with the new R3. Congrats on the new Metas!

My previous experience, with literally 1,000 different speaker pairs, over the last 20 years, most of them being used, is why I think people like my little channel.
