    Heat is the natural enemy of a lead acid battery. It breaks down the binder that holds the plate material together. Most batteries fail because of accumulation of the lead particles at the bottom of the cells which creates a bridge and shorts out the negative and positive plates. This is a natural progress that is only accelerated by Rising temperatures in the battery. By overcharging a battery. You inherently run the risk of thermal runaway. this is a dangerous scenario and can turn a battery into a bomb.

    We replaced the hose from the radiator to the reservoir with clear tubing in the 90s to see if we had rust in the system. Cast iron blocks rust. We did this to the reservoir hose because it's not under pressure. If your engine mount goes that short tubing won't have enough room to move, and might break lose.

    Never looked into that. Maybe it bleeds it back off so the breaking isn’t as aggressive.

    How do you fill it up?

  • @thestateofreal2533
    @thestateofreal25336 күн бұрын

    From the fuel door first then the top of the tank. There’s certainly better ways to accomplish this so you could fill from the top tank but you would have to run the stock breath to the top tank.

    Your fuel filter is on the wrong side of the fuel cutoff… The cutoff should be before the filter so you can turn off the fuel to change the filter…😂

    Does this work with smaller like mighty Maxx 12 v 12 ah lead acid batts. Should it turn the welder down to like 30amps?

  • @thestateofreal2533
    @thestateofreal253311 күн бұрын

    It can work. I would do your research on this process as my video only shows a snippet of it. If you have ever seen those large auto shop jump boxes on a hand truck…these go up to 40 amps

  • @jeffhamann4350
    @jeffhamann435014 күн бұрын

    Bro, no….. if it’s boiling like that, it’s too hot And it will explode or melt ! The process takes all day. Check your mixture s/b 70% diluted water and 30% acid. Set your welder to about 50 or 60 A, Hook it up and let it sit on there for about 15 minutes. Turn it off And let the battery sit for an hour. Let it cool down. Repeat the process 5 more times. It’s a good hack and saves you a lot of money, but it must be done safely. Don’t risk your health for convenience.

    You watched a bunch of KZread videos. I can tell. They are just people repeating other people. They don’t know the og ways. Myself and many others in the comments have been doing this since our daddies showed us. I have never had one pop. Besides, big boy shot jumpers run 40 amps through batteries…

  • @thestateofreal2533
    @thestateofreal253319 күн бұрын

    Nope, I meant what I said. This process requires you to pulse the battery with amperage multiple times. Each time the voltage should be going up. If it doesn’t you know you have a bad cell.

    This may work. But hell only buy himself a few more months out of it if hes lucky. If the lead plates arent so far gone. And you can descale the plates enough to hold charge. But what hes saying about boiling sulfuric acid off the plates is incorrect. Eventually the plates will be too far gone to hold charge anymore. The lead is a consumable. Meaning it will wear out.

    I worked at a hybrid/electric car shop for some time and we would refresh old 12v starting batteries for people who couldn’t afford new ones. We had a whole setup for it with a ventilated “safety” box in case the batteries exploded. I put a dry cell battery on it one day just for fun and that sucker exploded like no one’s business. Probably would have sent it’s top through the roof if it wasn’t in the safety box 😂😂😂
