How big is the Pulsar Turbo GTX3582r Gen 2 - Measurements and fittings!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

#Pulsar
This video is to help those who are trying to figure out how big the Pulsar GTX3582r Gen 2 turbocharger really is. I believe this turbo is considered a medium frame as the V8 guys use a much larger frame single turbo.
Pulsar has everything from small to large frame turbo charges! I can’t wait to get this turbo spooling!
Please feel free to reach out in the comments with other questions! As always, thanks for watching!
Coolant fittings are M14 - 1.5
Oil drain bolts are M8 - 1.25 x 20

Thanks brother! All of it is the same for h22’s as well being that they are different bore sizes but exactly the same casting.

Brother is it that pulsar only sells the r version and not the standard rotation turbo for this model I want to order this turbo but I don’t see the r in the description?

Good review. However i'm still wondering where the external wastegate line for boost was fitted from the turbo, did you use the speed sensor port?

Having a wastegate boost line from the turbo is kind of the old inaccurate way of doing it. Most tuners will suggest putting the wastegate boost line as close to the intake manifold as possible as it more accurately shows true boost pressures. Most map sensors are on the intake manifold and if you are using a boost control solenoid it’s helpful to know the pressure the manifold (solenoid) is seeing in order to tune the solenoid and gate pressures. Pulsar is with the times!

Best location is with a vacumm hose from the intake manifold. We as tuners only use the turbo speed sensor for logging turbo speed rpm. To make sure we are not exceeding the manufacturer max rpm limit

Cool that made your own drain, but they sell them on ebay. Installing a 3071 on my Chaser rn, just waiting on fittings.

This looks like a compact model, if it is, the answer is no. I just purchased a 3071PSR for my Chaser and I'll be doing a video on it. My point, I tried swapping parts, they fit but the wheels/blades are a different size.

No there isn’t. Typically with the cheaper turbos they don’t have one. Only the bigger name brand manufacturer spend the money and charge you upfront for those niceties.

i've seen several videos where guys break out calipers and measure the pulsar vs the garret and they're literally "the same" down to decimal places on a millimeter. All that to say: I bet you can look up the garret turbo and expect near identical results

No, I haven’t had any issues what so ever. It makes good power for the price. Keep in mind there are so many variables that could cause that to happen. I think sometimes people just like to discredit cheaper turbos. Garret is a “designer” turbo in my opinion…$2500 for a turbo when you can buy others for half that price and kill the competition.

@@thestateofreal2533 it is very true what you say regarding the 30whp I think they are exaggerated as a speech perhaps even amplified regarding similar wheel design perhaps the different weight but the identical spool does not compromise all this power which you too say sometimes discredit a mid-range which then they are not that bad they work great! true doubt don't last like garrets
