For the Subscribers: 1997 Honda Prelude Gets a Bath

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This is an update video of my progress with getting the Pulsar GTX3582r on to my 1997 Honda Prelude H22a / F20b. It’s been a long journey as the prelude curse keeps plaguing me.
I also introduce more toys to the channel to include the 2019 Model S Tesla and the 2021 Model 3 Long Range. I plan on doing a review later on the channel as both cars are nuts!
I introduce my dream truck which is now reality, the 2015 Ford F250 Superduty Lariat 6.7 Power Stroke built by Tuscany Motor Company with the Black OPS package which will have a review and many videos to come.
That being said life in the military often makes my channel irregular as I cannot post as often as many others so I appreciate those who stick around and check in!

Hey bro I'm trying to use the same turbo you're using on my first turbo build and I'm kind of confused, are you using both water and oil cooled?

Yes oil I am using both. It is not a requirement to use the water cooling but statistic show that it prevents “coking” which is when the car is shut off the heat soak from the hot side goes into the bearing cartridge and burns up the oil.

@@IndigoNegus no problem! The water cooled thing is something we have seen implemented more often now, especially with the dual ball bearing turbos. I believe it’s because the heat soak on a DBB turbo is more common than on a journal bearing turbo but I am speculating.

@@thestateofreal2533 Okay bro I have another question it might sound really dumb but I don't wanna ask my brother I want to surprise him with this turbo build, but the oil return/drain would be going directly to my engine wouldn't water/coolant be mixing with the oil going back to my engine?

Great question! No, the coolant circulation channels are different than the oil channels in the turbo. Similar to an engine, there is a coolant jacket around each cylinder for coolant to be pumped through while there are also oil channels (oil galleys) that circulate oil through all the bearings, crank, and to the head(s) of the engine and drain back down into the oil pan.
