New subscriber hee. I have a H23A1 4th Gen Prelude. Looking to add some pep, wondering what I should budget to get 300-400 whp without blowing up my engine. Any advice or suggestions? I know that everyone loves the H22 engine, but I have what I have. Like the videos man, keep em up.

Alex Souvall well I know of a couple guys who make 340hp with bone stock h series e85 and precision 6262 with a year on the setup. As I don’t believe in turbocharging bone stock h series it’s an option for short term goals. Most people equate pep to passing people and torque felt. As much as most people have strong feeling against nitrous...it’s a cheap option that gives you the thrills and is just as safe as a supercharger or turbo charger without the headaches. I know people who drop a 100 shot on stock h series with no issues and people with drop 200 shot with a nitrous controller. I’m at about $5-$5.5k into my turbo setup.

Alex Souvall it all depends on how deep you’re pockets go but I have a hard time telling people to go through everything that I have for 100 more hp. 200 more horsepower and you need a supercharger or turbo charger.

@@thestateofreal2533 If I were to modify the internals do you think I would be okay with just rods and pistons without sleeving it? Also, any thoughts on being able to get Vtec on a H23? I figure having vtec and the turbo threshold around the same point will make daily driving easy, but also have a lot of up side. Last question. Does your $5k include your nitrous set-up, or just your turbo/engine mods?

1) don’t let anyone convince you that h series FRM sleeves are not strong, Honda s2000 have them and can handle 600hp boosted with no issues. 2) h series cranks are forged and journals hardened so they can handle a lot of abuse. 3) forged pistons and rods are the way to go for long term reliability and future growth because it becomes addictive! 4) I have little experience converting h23 non vtec to vtec as I have just read what is available on the internet. Maybe this is something you can start first and see if it brings the pep your looking for? The Facebook group h series has a lot to experience guys who have done this. 5) vtec placement on a map affects your power curve and placement of vtec activation is something that should be up to your tuner to keep the curve smooth and climbing.

Should be good now! When you upload videos, sometimes it automatically designates them as meant for kids which you have to go in and uncheck the box 🤦🏻‍♂️

@@thestateofreal2533 Sorry. I even logged off the computer and restarted in case there was some sort of cookies or cache issue. I came back to this video, and others, yet all of the still have the notifications bell grayed out and still give the same message. Perhaps the channel itself has to be set a certain way rather than just the video, since none of them allow it.
