How to relocate a battery to the trunk! *Honda / Acura* A detailed guide!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

How to relocate your Honda Prelude Accord Civic Integra Wagon car battery to your trunk or anywhere in your car. I bought a wire kit from amazon to do my battery relocation. You can move a battery in the trunk / boot or pretty much anywhere in your vehicle.

    Holy hell is this exactly what I needed, I have an '01 Prelude and was like, "Oh this video is Honda specific, that's perfect." Then bam, it's my model, thanks man!

    I wanted to make this video for awhile because there are a lot of videos showing “how to” do this without the use of a circuit breaker! USING A CIRCUIT BREAKER IS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY!!! If you do not and you’re starter starts going bad...🔥

    Glad to hear it! Hey brother this isn’t a show car this is a turbo street sleeper. If your setup is good, people want a ride...not inspect your battery relocation setup. Just got a bigger turbo and going for 700 horsies 🤟🏻

    do i need to vent a gel battery at all if its not in a battery box?

    No you don’t need to vent gel batteries

    Please tell me you did something about that positive wire connection just hanging around exposed in your engine bay. You’re gonna short that thing against the chassis of the car. Also, you should box and vent that battery.

    Oh of course. It was electrically taped up before I made the video but I untaped it for the video. Yea I mention that in the video (whiteboard) for those who don’t already have a vented trunk like myself. Non-lead batteries don’t off gas toxic fumes.

    What if you don't put a fuse ... and what would case the wires to burn?? Only asking because most kits don't include the fuse ...

  • @thestateofreal2533

    @thestateofreal2533

    3 жыл бұрын

    The fuse is a precautionary thing. Over amp draw can happen and burn a wire in the harness somewhere. The fuse prevents that.

    What about the power wire that goes from the fuse box to the battery?

  • @thestateofreal2533

    @thestateofreal2533

    sergio quezada that is the same one connecting the starter. All of the power to the vehicle comes from the wire going to the positive terminal to the battery. If you connect your new relocation wire directly to the wires coming from the positive terminal connector then you will have power to everything else. In a car that’s usually the same wire going to your starter since you’re starter is always “HOT”

    Hey I have a question so because I bought a h22a from a guy with 9.0:1 compression pistons, arp head studs and a cometic head gasket. Took my h22a4 out and put in the new engine with a turbo and when I started it I hear a little rod knock. I take the crank out to see that the king's racing bearings are at standard size and they fell right out. I take it to a machine shop and I was told that the person that did the work machined the crank ten thousands too small and that he took out a hardened metal from the crank and that it won't last if we put the right size bearings in. Is this true, and what are my options?

    anthony escalante Most Honda cranks are forged and case hardened. So if the crank is turned down .010 and not hardened then it will be more susceptible to wear...especially with a power adder. Crank journals can be hardened. That being said, for $120-$150 you can buy a used h22a4 crank that hasn’t been turned down and that will solve your dilemma.

    @@thestateofreal2533 so I have the closed deck h22a. Will a open deck h22a4 crank fit the same?

    anthony escalante Great question! You want to look for an h22a4 crank from a 1997 Honda prelude...the h22a and the h22a4 from 1997 Honda prelude have 50mm main journals.
