Love it
Thank you!
I just made a custom avatar! Interesting to see the different approach. I don't have access to a 3D printer so I got a head whose structure was very close and used Apoxie Sculpt to add features to make it more 'me'. Excellent work you two! ❤
That's a great idea!
Awesome
👍
very cool !
👍
This was a very fun video Brian and Carissa! I love your interactions in the videos, it's so wholesome. There is a KZreadr who has a lot of experience with the Revo scanners. His name is Jim Overton and the channel's name is called Jimson's Stuff. I think you can reach out to him to get some advice on improving the scan results. I think you'll also like his projects.
I love this so much! You guys are the cutest
Thank you!
What an ace project. I’ve always said to my mates as a joke when we finish our World War II. Werewolf film. It will be so cool to have action figures of ourselves and it actually looks like it’s doable. Awesome video guys 👍🏻 👍🏻
Thank you!! When you finish that film share it with us, it sounds awesome
I think if them ones had glasses on they would look nearly spot on like u both
Agreed! We have to redo them with the glasses for sure.
🌴 In this kind of situation, it is important to keep a cool head 🙃 , Great video ! I guess it is possible to scan different textures for dioramas, like stone wall , or even objects to make them smaller.
Totally can scan texture like that! Great idea!
A great video smugglers room. Thank you and see you next time
Thanks for coming by for a look!
They look exactly like you guys! Good paint job.
Thank you!!
This is pretty cool! Lots of us in the world building community have sculpted our own head sculpts and modified existing ones to look like ourselves. This is another way to do that very same thing. Cheers.
Thank you very much!
Are these parts available to download?
If you visit the droid builders club over at Astromech.net you can find them.
Cool!
👍
What a great project! And I found the editing to be quite fun as well!
Thank you very much! Appreciate that!
You guys rock.
Thank you!!
Great look at some awesome tech. It really is amazing what’s available to makers today compared with even a few years ago. But the best part of the video is that the excitement and fun and sheer joy you two had doing this come through loud and clear. 😁
Thank you!!! Yes, the tech is mind blowing and we definitely had a lot of fun with it!
What you need is a turntable on the floor you can stand on and a tripod to mount the scanner at the correct height to scan as the turntable rotates.
That would definitely help!
That cool ❤
Thanks
Awesome project!! Question. What is that gray mat on your table? I love it ❤
Thanks! That mat was made by our friend Cam Breeze. You can find him over at the Star Wars room builders group on facebook
Buenas noches maestro! Grande eres muy grande,es un vídeo bestial cómo nos tienes acostumbrados. Me gusta mucho ésas figuras 3,75" . Yo casi estoy terminando mí habitación dedicada a Star Wars, espero algún día ver una foto de mi trabajo en algún vídeo tuyo,no pierdo la esperanza. Un saludo desde España canarias.
Thank you!!
Would it be more efficient to make life casts of each others face and sdan those?
Maybe, but that has always been something I have avoided. LOL
you need the Rancor Keeper
are you saying i need to put my head on a Rancor Keeper????? LOL!!!! Sadly, that is probably a better fit :)
@@TheSmugglersRoom Yes. I mean, that’s the figure that I’d have to use. And if I had a 3d printer and a scanner, I totally would.
Glasses cause issues with scanning because of reflective surfaces. So here’s a thought: put on frames without lenses and then do the scan!
Yeah, we figured that was likely the big issue. We also realized later that we can simply 3D model a pair of glasses and then just add them to the 3D file . . . boom, simple and easy!
I so want to make my own action figure. In joe classified, 1/18 joe, and 3.75 vtc star wars
That would be great!
The timing of this video is spooky…last weekend on the VanOaks Props livestream the conversation skewed odder than usual, ending up with us clamoring for a Derek action figure. Suggested accessories were caps, sneakers and glue guns! Mrs. VanOaks sold separately! Now you know what to get Derek for Life Day!
LOL!!!! That’s awesome! I now very much want a Derek action figure!
@@TheSmugglersRoom Sounds like a memorable collaboration video for the future!
Maybe not a complete success but awesome anyway and the likeness was wild!
Agreed! Thanks for watching
This is every nerd/geek's dream come true! Awesome project and a very fun one to make without a doubt 👏👏🔥
Glad you like it! Thank you!
Wow! Awesome episode, hay great job on your custom selfie action figures. Hay if you have any trouble getting a head off of a action figure submerge the figure in hot water for 1 minute the it will pull off easily. I have two ideas for you, 1 you could do both of your Mandalorian selfie action figures in the outfits you created. 2 make a small model of Brian in his work shop With him building one of his models on the table. These figures would be so cool in your room build.
Thank you! That’s a great tip about the hot water, and yes, we would love the Mando’s! The workshop is a definite!
Ace!
👍
Where did you get that place mat on your table top? WOW!!
Lol, an awesome maker named Cam Breeze made that for us. You can find him in the Star Wars Room Builders Group on face book
Way back in the mid 90s I worked for a company called Real 3D and we had a product that made this scanning possible. We could scan a face and create a mesh that could be animated to talk and it would look very much like the person.
Wow! That’s awesome
@@TheSmugglersRoom They used lasers to measure the head to make the mesh and took pictures to put on the textures. They took it to the Sistine Chapel and made a full life like scan of it.
You should to do one of yourself as Darth Vader.
Lol
You kids and your toys... Awesome video!!
🤣
I need to suggest this scanner to my orthotist for making moulds for my leg splints. It would be so much easier than casting my legs in plaster of Paris.
Oh wow’ yes totally
Man, you looked like Thanos. Love your videos, keep it up!
🤣 thank you!
Um excuse me sir, I believe you mean it is only her MESH- NOT HER FACE- that has some blemishes. 😂 Great job guys!
🤣🤣🤣. Thanks!
This was fun. Next time, can you also scan the figures with the heads off and then combine your scans in the other software to get the sizes right? You can then add the posts and edit the necks to match the figures closer?
That’s a great idea!
Love it! With some heat and needle nose pliers you can get the post out of the donor figure head. With a hollowed out custom head you can either fill it with hot glue to and put Vaseline in the ball joint, or I usually just throw some blue tack inside the head since no one is ever gonna see it.
Ooh! Thanks for that tip! Great!
I used my scanner to make "screen accurate' model of my head for sizing cosplay helmets. You just import the finished model into ArmorSmith to include in your avatar. Significantly more accurate than just taking some measurements to enable a perfect fit for a helmet every time. I'd love to make 3D scans of my cats but it would have to be of them sleeping which will probably not work out so well given the amount oif light you need to shine on teh subject to get a good scan ...
That’s a great idea for the helmet work! Thank you!
Amazing project guys, and so pleased to be able to take part! It was kinda surreal to be playing with your heads in my editor LOL 😉
Thank you bro!!! So appreciate your help! I bet it was super strange🤣
Isn't it amazing how far technology has come? I never would have imagined that we can make our own likenesses and figures, from scratch, right at home!
It’s crazy right??? Totally nuts man!
Whenever I'm having problems with the head to neck transition on a custom figure, that figure gets a scarf! LOL
LOL!!!! Love it!
Hi you should take a look at Hasbro pulse you can make yourself into a Star wars character with your head on it,I live in the UK so not able to do this as you can only be a resident in the USA
We did see that for sure! At the end of the day making it ourselves just seemed like more fun.
I need to start a YT channel .... I had to actually buy that same scanner ... lol
Lol, you should!
Oh man, so jealous! I've been wanting to get one of these for a while now! Awesome results!
Thanks man!! I bet you could do some great stuff on your builds with one. Thanks for stopping by!
Now you must make a workshop in the Pit for your figures!
100%
Such a cool Video !!
Thank you!
Just started watching the vid. I love that pad with your logo on it. Where did you get it ?
Yeah, that's a great addition to the shop. A maker by the name of Cam Breeze made that for us. You can find him in the Star Wars Room Builders Group on facebook if you are interested.
@@TheSmugglersRoom Thanks you
