Star Wars Jedi Survivor | Control Panel Build

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Star Wars Jedi Survivor is out for a variety of gaming stations. We have been enjoying the gameplay almost as much as we are enjoying the amazing designs that the artists from Electronic Arts have provided. So today we decided we should build a control panel based on some of the artwork from EA.
Thank you to Elegoo for Sponsoring today's episode. Here is a link to both the Mars 3 Pro Resin Printer and their awesome wash and cure station!

    Quite nicely done. I would love to build a Star Wars room in our house. And while my wife is a fan of the Star Wars universe, she is not so much that she would consider having a room that looks like it is on a planet of another star system in a galaxy far, far, away! For Halloween back in 1978, I built a Darth Vader costume with the light Saber. I found a Don Post Studios Darth Vader helmet in a gift shop for about $75 that inspired my inner geek (geeky behavior was semi frowned upon in those days). The helmet was the only piece of Star Wars ephemera available over the counter at that time, unlike today. And of course, 3D printers and laser cutters were science fiction. I bought a pair of black lineman boots as the only other store bought costume item. Everything else was fabricated from scratch and salvaged parts.

    I would love to have the desk in the Senator's office on his ship at the beginning of the game. I already have the Art of Jedi Survivor book on preorder, and I got the Fallen Order book now. I wouldn't use a resin printer without a wash & cure station. Mine is a different brand, but the function is the same, and fantastic. I'm glad to see more companies reaching out to you guys.

    What sort of acrylic are you using for those tiles? 'Normal' coloured acrylic blocks too much light when backlight and 'tinted' acrylic is too transparent. There is 'frosted' acrylic that is ideal for backlighting. You shouldn't need the packing material that, while it diffuses well again blocks a lot of the light. You want the LED mounted back from the acrylic as far back as the piece is wide if possible to best avoid hot spots.

  • @TheSmugglersRoom

    @TheSmugglersRoom

    11 ай бұрын

    These are translucent. They’ve worked great in the past for this sort of thing, especially when I am able to point the LED directly at the tile. This was just a bit of a different configuration this time around.

    That's a great question. I'm not sure how comfortable you are with computers and software, so answering that might be a bit of a challenge. There is a learning curve to it for sure, however I am a total noob at doing it and I have found KZread channels like Uncle Jessie for example, to be a great way to learn about the various printers, and what is needed to use them. I would look into a bit of that before you buy, just to make sure you understand what all is involved and you aren't frustrated afterwards.
