@@captdan7876 sealing your MDF is the key. You can use Minwas sealer, or simple waterbased sanding sealer. When you do that BOOM it looks like glass.
9:35 Find someone who loves you like Brian loves his white tiles and greeblies. But seriously, beautiful work! Painting on the pin striping looks really good. I'd love to see a video where you pile all your greeblies out on the table and maybe go over a few of the interesting ones and where you found them. As for now, I'm off to ILTMS to check out what Bob does with these gorgeous panels.
Using the peel off plastic as a laser cut stencil for painting pinstripes... GENIUS!! 🤯 I especially liked your attention to detail about worn areas. Subtle details like that go so far. Thank you for the reminder about stuff like that.

Totally love all the neat things you and your wife build. You are both very talented. If I may make a suggestion, in one of your future builds. I think it would be great if you made one of your droid interfaces actually functional, like a volume switch, lighting adjustment, or an on/off switch. I thought about it when I was re-watching your build on your soldering station, and thought it would've been awesome if you had put the droid interface up by the fans and used it to activate the fans and lights. Keep making something out of nothing, and inspiring us all.
this guy needs his own show on Discovery or something. a fucking legend!

I wonder what you an the dude from the I Like To Make Stuff channel might do if a team up was done turning a plane cockpit from a plane that came out of a salvage yard a decent size one like say one used for the movie Airplane with Leslie Nielsen in it. Turning something like that into a bridge for something out of Star Wars or Star Trek, with the plane cockpit hooked up to some repurposed Shipping Containers turned into a clubhouse type spaceship on the inside of it, outside of the build turned spaceship like or given a look of hiding the spaceship in someway.
hey brian. love your work! had a look and I cant find it in any particular video, but can you run me through the process you used to finish the panel surface itself? I saw you said you sanded and lacquered, but what kind of lacquer did you use? Thanks!
