Amazing build Brian. I have enjoyed this entire build Love your technique with the foam. I use gorilla glue construction adhesive for glueing foam. I also love to use a cheap spray mister and small torch - mist the foam and heat the foam with the torch careful not to go too hot and you will get a nice texture. The heat melts the foam and where the water is stays solid and doesn’t melt. Gives a good rock look. Also using a heat gun to heat the foam can smooth it out a bit after cutting. Wear a respirator in both instances. Also spray iso alcohol on your sand/rock/grout before glue/water mix and your glue will flow

Than you so much! It's a truly great honor to get that kind of praise from you, your builds are amazing! I totally forgot about the spray mister and torch!!! DOH! That is such a great technique. It's a great question. I wasn't entirely sure how much sand I would use in the end. So I decided to paint and highlight the molded area so that I had the option of being selective once I put the sand down. In the end it's certainly more work, and I added more sand then I originally planned, but it did give me options so it was a win.
