Love the build, Brian! The LED lighting and rotisserie mechanism really pushed this build's "wow factor" further! I was so glad you added the bottom barbecue pit LEDs; really helps highlight the creature you put on the spit! Looking forward to seeing more of this build. Your videos always make me want to start the diorama ideas in my head (if only I had the space 😩). Thanks for SHARING!

@@TheSmugglersRoom yeah, I'm thinking just slightly bigger than the models. Won't give the depth of scene, but will add a nice display touch!
Great work guys! Using the pod-racer engine was an interesting idea. Your nephew getting to take part in your cool project, kudos to him… he’s part of the clan now. Overall an amazing work done. Looking forward to the other builds!🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

I loved the departure from the normal video format you took at the beginning. Understanding how you find inspiration and then how to find your design was enlightening. And then, of course, the rest of the build was pure gold. Amazing how this turned out!! Congrats.

Being into the miniature tabletop hobby myself I really appreciate these type of builds. What you’re actually doing is world building, so it would be great to see a series of interconnected dioramas that expand upon this piece. You can even create a whole backstory to go along with it.

I love the way you do things and I have learned a lot in this episode. You pick and choose items that look cool, then you come back in finish off the things that do not fit. The whole front of the shop looked off to me until you add the details then BAMM!! I think your kind of winging it but just go with the flow and come back to give it the final details. Its inspiring!
@TheSmugglersRoom

Thanks bro! You just have to go with the greeblie flow! LoL
Incredible! When I first started watching Smugglers Room, you're the one that inspired me to use greeblies and make larger architecture pieces from appliance parts, etc. In one of my builds, Han and Chewie are working on a speeder (built from one of my wife's deodorant stick containers), on a race paddock built from the plastic grate from our first high-def TV! Keep up the awesome work!!!

Wow, awesome start to this one! As a big 3.75" collector, a big city display is on the tops of my list for dioramas that I'd love to build. The LED signs are AWESOME. And the smoky mynocks really remind me of Peking Duck like you'd see in a great Chinese restaurant window. You two put so much thought into these displays. I can't wait to see the progress here. This will be a fun series.

What fantastic scale build Brian! Love the rock work and all the little details within. Especially liked the fire LED's in the bottom part of the roaster. I really like that you continue to use junk or "stuff" you have on hand like the coffee maker. Just today I walked past a small pool leaf filter I had and was ready to trash it. Then the builder in me slapped me. It soon became another power lamp or room prop in my head. I stored it on the shelf as a future build piece. So, I think it's so important that we see you take that approach and further solidify that it was always good for all of us to do!

Now I’m very much not a fan of sports, but, in this case I feel the need to use a sportball term. Brian and Carissa y’all have just hit a double header grand slam field goal thingy*. First off, that coffee maker was jam packed with amazing greeblies. The entrance panel is just perfect. Second: getting a first glance at the size/scale of one level of the pit is making this project feel real. Real big. C, or Fifth(?): I love that the first candidate for the pit is a BBQ pit. There is so much detail. So much texture. So much going on. And it’s not even done yet. Glad to see my little addition to the project. James (of course) did a great job modeling up the meats. I’m gonna have to try my hand at some of your painting techniques. Especially if I ever get my food truck made. I’m hoping y’all are gonna have your own action figures for your shop. Not just paper cutouts. Make them available in the shop. I’ll absolutely buy a set. And I’m sure many of us would love them. And you’ll have to include the next gen smuggler (aka your nephew). So glad you’re involving him in your shop. Now, get back to work my friends. * I’m guessing this is a very high praise?

Your ability to "see beyond" a particular object, piece, component, part, or device is amazing. As a kid, I used to scavenge in my dad's workshop things he no longer used or needed and turn them into Star Wars things, I recall an old cardboard storage drum that ended up becoming a rough astromech droid that I could play alongside in my adventures,.mom gave me an old stainless steel mixing bowl that became the dome, some old 1970s era control panel lights and I was good to go. I am slowly trying to find that old part of me. Your channel has inspired me once again.

I think it took a while to find that part of my imagination at first. It’s amazing how that gets removed as we get older. However, if you keep looking and let yourself tap into that childhood side of your mind, you’ll find it again! I’m thrilled to hear we are helping with that.
WOW! Look at the little....and the BBQ pit...oh, oh ,oh look at the store front! Wait what? The rotisserie works...and...no way look at this! Buddy, great chapter one!!! If there was a 'love' button I would have smashed it!

Thank you my friend! That's an incredible compliment coming from you given your excellent work! Much appreciated!
Between the "food truck" skiff and now this little ristorante bistro, you're really tapping into one of the more 'mundane' parts about Star Wars that is always either overlooked or outright ignored; food! In the movies and shows, the food is always either those tic-tac/pill looking things Luke had in Empire or it's just a vague liquid like the "broth" from Mando s1. So this is awesome. Great idea, great build, and I can't wait for more additions to this project!

@@TheSmugglersRoomThanks and congrats! What I'm working on at the moment is a lot more simple. I got some picture frames from a store that were breakage from an accident, no glass. So, I'm transforming them into a little series of Mediterranean house facades, with some depth courtesy of XPS foam, tongue spatulas and coffee stirrers (great cheap crafting wood you can buy in bulk for next to nothing).

That's awesome, I love the scale diorama! You've probably already known, but the dollar stores are great for weird army or sci fi figures that come with good accessories for set decorations, and greeblies. I recently bought a army figure for like $4 that came with a couple barrels, a searchlight, a sand bag barrier, a funky steampunk looking skateboard, and weapons. Gotta love the weird random accessories, lol. But you mix that with the guy who comes with a jetpack and a dinosaur, and you can make great stuff.
