I never watched Doctor Who and yet I still could recognize that what was build as something Doctor Who inspired... really shows you how much influence something has when you recognize things without ever watching them.

Dude, that project is awesome! I have to use a cane, and ride a power scooter more than I'd like to admit. This video has got me wanting to do a Star Wars inspired cane. Maybe from aluminum tubing?
Dalek is pronounced Dah-Lek (Dah like morse code and Lek like Albanian currency), its phonetically similar to garlic.

Looks like it is a ‘2005 New Series Dalek’. The paint scheme for that is Renault Chanelle 174 (think bronze) and gold for the hemis & slats. The base is black

That's a great project and it looks really good. (Yes I might be a little biased) At 6:37 I hear you listening to "Aliens" in the background. "Da-leck" Da as in Dab and Leck as in Heck (but with an L). Dalek Pronounciation Guide 1 = kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZaOByKWtYMKXps4.html

As to the correct pronunciation of 'Dalek', don't worry about it to much, Even in the show the pronunciation changes a little from character to character. Dah-lek, Dah-lik and Da-Lek are used, pretty much, interchangeably throughout the show, some fans (particularly Americans) have been criticized for 'over pronouncing' the E (Dah-lEk and Da-lEk) but even this has been used in the show by some (mostly American) characters. The only Dalek related thing that everyone agrees on is... Recon/Scout Daleks are the worst.

That's much less likely an American thing than a non-Dr. Who-viewer thing, I'd say. The biggest Dr. Who fan I'm aware of is American. But they don't mention Daleks that often, so I don't remember how they say it, either. (Although I _am_ also American....)
DA-LEK not DAY-LEK..
