So what is this channel for? Well, years ago it started off as a place to store my PB's basically, so it was even more raw than the current format. Rather than use KZread as a "just a library", I thought, why not impart some knowledge to anyone that wants to learn what it takes to get to a contest winning physique (on an amateur level obvs) and maintain a good level of muscle, strength and condition.
I'm 38 at the time of writing this, and I've been tweaking my current training method, one that allows for more rest, and I believe...quicker results. Recently (May 2024) I've reached what I believe is close to the final form of this training method, so I'll be assessing the results over the next couple of months to see how it can be improved further.
I'm not looking to monetise this information, I'm actually just here to share the experience and also leave something for fellow bodybuilding enthusiasts to follow and hopefully learn from.
Who knows, my way might just work for you.

MUSIC?
What about it mate?
@@pstaplehurst I CAN'T FIND IT, CAN YOU SEND MI LINK PLEASE?
@@yehordorishI don’t know what music it was mate, it was playing in the background of the gym, it’s not something I actually chose.
Amazing work! New sub here. I do almost the same back workout, SLDL/RDL are amazing for all posterior chain and back thickness. Keep growing!
Really appreciate that mate and I completely agree, it’s a form of exercise everyone should do to remain strong, especially in such an important area. Cool that we do almost the same back session…. great minds
Apologies for the wank audio, the gain was up high which I clearly didn't notice.
shit form
My max is 62kg 1 rep. My bodywheight is 62kg I'm 16 years old
Surprised to hear you’re not 62 years old 😂 good lifting mate
@@pstaplehurst thanks
This isn't strict form: you're using your hips and back to swing the bar up. If you want to gauge your true lift, try curling with your back and buttocks against a wall, as here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/gn-jm9ehlKTeXaw.htmlsi=AANNZ6E9eeGVh5-A
If the title of this video said “My 60kg strict bicep curls” i’d probably understand this comment, but thank for playing.
@@pstaplehurst “strict” isn't necessary. “Biceps curl” has a set, well known definition - curling the weight with the biceps only. “My 60 kg cheating biceps curls” would be a more appropriate title.
@@davidadams8546😂😂😂 it’s a 10 year old video mate, chill out. Since that i’ve won bodybuilding shows, so I think my curls are just fine. Have a good day.
@@pstaplehurst Doesn't matter how old the video is, it's still up, with your ego falsely claiming you're doing 60 kg “curls”, when in fact, they're cleans/cheat curls. Learn from this guy (kzread.info/dash/bejne/iYyNlMWYdc3Fkc4.htmlsi=PkNfn7j29YPMNJaL) and face facts, mate.
@@davidadams8546😂😂😂 have a day off mate 🥱
Solid lift. Good form.
Cheers mate
I cant lie, there are quite a lot of strong people in this comment section lol
Isn’t there 😂
such a big guy and yet so weak..... are these his last 10 of a 10 X 10 set ? maybe just a beginner
Correct mate, never trained before, this was my first ever set of anything.
how much steroids do i need for this.
Quite a few tbh
My Best is 60kg for 10 reps at 52.9kg bodyweight
There was a video I commented on we pressed a similar weight but ficking hell u look amazing now condition wise well done
Thanks mate really appreciate that. Gonna be getting some more content up now too, so I’m going to share how I get in condition and what my approach is. Should sound better too with a good microphone now 👍🏻
weak bitch who can't drop the weight easy to the ground cause they are too weak
The best pump ever. Such a man. Gotta ❤ it. Strong man and so 👑💪❤️🥰😍😳🥲😋
Haha thanks mate
I just started doing BB curls as ive always stuck to dumbells and preacher curls. Whats your opinion on cheating? What do you think is an acceptable amount, would you do it every set or just your last set etc.
Personally mate I try to aim for 8-10 reps with near perfect form, from there, do as many cheat reps as you can until the negative portion of the rep is basically exhausted and you can’t control the weight down anymore. One thing I have noticed recently is that my arms are responding way better to slightly higher reps (10-12’s) rather than 6-8 and ideally with constant reps, so no breaks in between reps, until you need a break for the cheat reps.
@@pstaplehurst legend mate. I do tend to stop and rest the weight on my thighs about 3/4 of the way through the set but I know ultimately its going to reduce time under tension so il drop the weight and to keep a more constant TOT. Absolutely love your physique btw, i''ve told you this before but always come back to your videos and are blown away by the overall development but specifically your back and arms are amazing.

This is very strong, since everyone is commenting about themselves, let me join 🤣. I could do 40kg at 65kg bw with relatively strict form on the bench for 8 reps.
Haha thanks mate, seems an odd place for everyone to boast about their lifts doesn’t it 😂 Good lifting though mate 💪🏻
I had commented on the last video. I would really appreciate if you'd help me in my goals to improve my physique and discipline

Hi Phil, I used to follow you on UKM way back in about 2012/2013, and after a long break at 48 years old have got back into training. Is there a way to contact you please apart from via here? I did try to send a message under my other KZread account, but it won't post/show.

@@pstaplehurst I've sent you an eMail bud. 👍🏻
I usually do rows almost parallel to the ground (like an RDL), but the last few days I keep seeing buff daddys doing rows kinda upright like you did : I guess the god of gains is giving me a sign here lmao nice perfs !
Buff daddy’s cracked me up 😂 but yea mate, give it a go for a good couple of months and see how much better it is for upper back development. Whenever I did parallel to the ground it always blew out my lower back with a massive pump, which isn’t what I wanted.
@@pstaplehurst I'll definitely try this, thanks for the tip, really appreciated

you can do 50kg for 1 rep mate
Totally agree mate. Its such a therapeutic lifestyle but not many have the dedication or discipline to do it long enough to appreciate it. Think your content is great btw and shocked you aint got more subs!

@@pstaplehurstI know you touched on posting more videos about your training style and diet. I'd love to know about that and what worked for you to build up that amazing physique. Wish we had that pullover machine in my gym...looks brutal!
Yea tbf it’s quality mate, nice new Panatta. I don’t usually like pullover machines but that one is wicked.
Oh he could go way heavier. Im smaller than him and can do about 30-40lbs more, same rep number.

Brutal! That’s a big weight for flye’s though. How bad is the tear?
Steroids ! You're gonna eventually die soon !
Never ever skip leg day…. unless yours are broken 🧑🏻🦽 I suffered for years with what I thought was arthritis in both my knees. I couldn’t walk up the stairs without pulling myself up using the bannister, putting my full weight through each leg was so painful. In the end I sought out help and wound up seeing the physio for the Team GB rowing team, 7-8 sessions later I was fixed. It turned out that my IT band was so tight on both legs it had been pulling my knee cap off centre and was rubbing against the bone… it was savage. I trained legs twice a week to get them to catch up with my upper body. I did whatever it took, monster sets, 50 rep sets, drop sets until you’re about to throw up, you name it and I pretty much did it. 18 months later I was on stage winning my second bodybuilding show and qualifying for the British finals 🏆🥇
Just saw your 60 kg curl video from 9 years ago, glad to see you´re still uploading.

Good lift. I'm lifting 70kgs cheat curl for a few reps in 20kg standard barbell. I feel ez bar curl is much easier than standard ones ?
Ez bar is much more comfortable with regards to wrists, I guess it comes down to personal preference, but 70kg is a good effort mate.
